We were there for my daughter’s birthday. She and her fiancé were back in San Diego from Oregon. I booked a table the same day and was able to seat six. The staff there, from the hostesses (upstairs and downstairs) wait staff and bussers were so accommodating to us. We were secured a table overlooking the beach at sunset and we were seated right away. The food was great, as always. We had everything from steak to ribs to lobster tacos. Our waitress was awesome as she had to deal with all of us😆. We have always enjoyed PCG and this time was definitely no exception. My daughter was so happy to be beachside again and your staff made our meal one to remember. A big Thank You to all your staff!
The outside view is fantastic. You are right in the beach. If sitting outside, request lower level seating. Upstairs does not have the same ambiance. The seafood Cobb salad was excellent. Great place for a relaxing meal, especially at sundown
it was my first time and I was taken for my birthday. it was all around terrific an our waitress, Erica
Food was amazing as always; server checked in with us periodically to make sure we didn’t need anything without being overbearing.
My wife and I really enjoyed the food and ambience. The overall service, from valet to the busboys were courteous, attentive, and more than willing to make reasonable modifications to the menu.
The service and food are only exceeded by the view of the ocean. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food, best filet I’ve ever had! Very good service also.
Paella was excellent
A little too noisy - wish they’d figure out a way to dampen it. Otherwise a very fun spot in the ocean with really solid food and great service!
Sat upstairs on outside patio. Great place to view the sunset. Food is always good. Appetizer dinner split with friends.
I ate less than half my prime rib sandwich. The shaved meat was dry, tough, and tasteless. The fries were cold. I didn't return it because I was hungry and short of time. The noise level inside was awful. I told our server about it so that he could relay the information. I wasn't asking for another meal or any kind of credit. But you were kind enough to take it off of my check, and I appreciate that. I felt it was important for you to know about the meal so that it wouldn't happen again. I've been to PCG a few times, and have always been pleased with the food, so this was surprising to me.
Our birthday celebration was surrounded by beautiful
scenery, but food items were lacking the fine dining standards. Salmon and tuna tartar appetizers need help. I wrote the specifics in another section of this review.
Staff were fabulous and we loved and very much appreciated the on the house birthday dessert! It was wonderful!
If the two menu items mentioned could be tweaked a bit, the food review would be change to 5 Star.
It was excellent
Meagan was delightful and super sweet. She made great recommendations and never kept us waiting. She made the evening really special!
This used to be my wife's favorite restaurant. She loves the shrimp dumplings. This occassion was for her birthday. The food was terrible, I had a steak that tasted old, and my wife's go to meal- the Seared Ahi-was not the same plate as she usually gets. To make things worse my son, ordered a quesadilla with chicken and he didn't want chicken on it, so they offered to make it without chicken- which was great. But they charged us for both quesadilla's without telling us they were going to charge for both. Just a disappointing experience for my wife's birthday. I'm doubtful we'll ever go back.
Overall it was very good, my salad was excellent as was my companions' food. Service was outstanding. My Mahi Mahi was horrible though, it was dense and overcooked, like it had been frozen and thawed too many times, not the flaky light fish I was expecting.
Such nice staff...Host staff, wait staff...All so friendly and accommodating.
Been many times, very good.
We had one vegan diner and one omnivore. We were both more than satisfied. On the vegan front, the Hurricane Roll was delicious and large. The veggie burger, with fries, was very satisfying. The scallop appetizer was very tasty. Cocktails were large and well crafted. We got there at the end of sunset, great views as you sit and look out at the Pacific.
We had an awesome dinner and Megan was an excellent server. Only issue was we couldn’t raise the sun shade to see the lovely view because other patrons didn’t bring their sun glasses! (Hint if you plan to dine for sunset come prepared!)
Early brunch so we were the first one there. Staff was excellent. Food was even better.
Fantastic place. Excellent service and food. We ate outside and it was amazing view. We showed up 2 hours early and they got us right in. I would love to eat here again and try other dishes and I dont even like seafood.
Very lovely view of the ocean. Service was excellent. Great appetizers! Not impressed with my sea bass but everyone else liked their entrees. Cheesecake was rich and not too sweet.
Always one of our favorites when in the area. Patio is absolutely fantastic. Great service, good food, great drink menu
PCG is a wonderful place to dine. Sitting at ocean’s edge can’t be beat. Although the food is delicious as well as artistically prepared and served, it’s a tad too expensive for me to enjoy on a regular basis.
Lovely place for a birthday dinner. Ribs were tasty and the menu quite varied. The view is super! Looking forward to returning.
Do you Screen your employees for drug abuse
Easter lunch was great. It’s always a great place for lunch or dinner with friends and family. Service is amazing and the views are the best.
We went for easter brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the special holiday menu! All of our meals (burrito, BBQ duo, shrimp scampi) were outstanding! The service was excellent— attentive, timely, and polite. To top it off, The view was incredible! It was reasonably priced as well, especially for the quality of the food. I highly recommend this restaurant and will absolutely be going back myself.
The friendliness, compensy, and food quality were wonderful. Also, the "ambience" was great. We will be back!
Better brunch options our server was great she was able to offer French Toast for the kids since they didn’t offer a breakfast menu at 9:30am??? Hostess staff couldn’t wait for us to leave maybe keep comments to self as we are walking out
Food was not cooked to request (medium rare hamburger was well done twice). Finally got a lobster roll. Staff did not refill drinks (iced tea). No adjustment or visit by management was made to address our concerns.
Overall all was pretty good. The turkey burger was bland but it was moist.
The food was delicious, so many varieties to choose from (I had the Baja Tacos - Served bowl style/build your own with fresh Mahi Mahi). Our server was amazing, she went over all our questions, the drinks were flowing. We had a chance to celebrate a special birthday and enjoy the view of the ocean. What a great dining experience. I would recommend for any occasion, special, lunch date, dinner date, parents night out or gals night out - great food and great service! A++
We had brunch here on Sunday and it was fabulous! Figured we have dinner here on our last night of vacation. The restaurant, servers and chef do not disappoint. Food was amazing!!
Fabulous ambience and great food.
Amazing, interesting food. Very attentive, yet not obtrusive, service. A wonderful place.
Very nice dining experience. Family was visiting and showed them this place. Superb!
The food is very good and you can sit outdoors right next to the ocean. My wife and I love it.
