It was good I want to have brunch there with friends for my up coming birthday.
Good food and service. I had the chicken pot pie and some red beer. Tasty, though the place was SUPER loud. Obnoxiously so, but then again, I guess it is a bar, but still, it could be a bit quieter. I could not hear everyone at my table, and we were only at a four top. If I had 6+ people, I would not have been able to talk to half of them. Overall, not a bad choice though.
Visiting San Diego and wanted a few beers and some food. Drove by earlier in the day and liked the look of this place so we checked it out. Everyone enjoyed their food. I loved the Italian flatbread. It was huge and I thought I would only eat half...I couldn’t stop eating it until it was gone lol
Our waitress was exceptional and all of our burgers were excellent. One person had the Bison burger, two the Alehouse Burger, and two the Beer Cheese burger. The bacon on the burger is very tasty.
This was not a good experience. My party of 8 ordered together, but two people did not get their two taco dishes for a long, long time after everybody else got their food. We had all finished eating by the time the last two dishes even came. No apology. Their food was cold, too. When we complained, the server shrugged her shoulders.
A friend with whom I had worked here in San Diego was visiting from Indiana. So where does one take an out-of-town friend from Indiana, well to the roof of the Pacific Beach Alehouse, of course. The food, service and views were all top quality!!!
We had prompt service and food tastes great. I had the fish tacos and my husband had a burger.
Maybe just an off day. It was Christmas and maybe they were short kitchen help. Waiter very courteous but we waited over an hour before our food was served. Food ordinary at best. Three menu selections sold out earlier. We don’t live in San Diego so won’t be back anyway.
Food took over an hour and that was disappointing. It would have been nice if the manager came to the tables to apologize.
I have NEVER had a bad time at the PB Alehouse. The burgers are the best, and their beer is good.
I found this place by chance. In my opinion it will be Better by day. It waa wayyyy too loud in the evening. If you can sit upstairs aim to do so. If you are a sports fan it is great for sports watching gatherings.
Food was not good. The service was slow and they switched waiters in the middle of serving us. Place was cool looking.
On vacation with the family. Food is okay , balcony is nice. They had a shrimp special, all you can eat - the had three options-this was a good value
Interior & balcony really worn- I am sure their best business is a party joint
The buffalo chicken flatbread was truly amazing. I’ve had it often at other places. This was great. You’ve got to ask for vegi-burger but you can get it anyway the beef burgers come. And they have tv’s everywhere so you can see Syracuse beat Clemson like I did. :)
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Top it all off with a beautiful sunset and a relaxed atmosphere. We couldn't have asked for better dining experience. We can't wait to go back.
Went for the Thursday night all you can eat shrimp and was not disappointed. Yummy! It was crowded and loud, but definitely worth it .
If you want a quit relaxed meal don't go here. It's dark noisy and not comfortable. I can't think of anything good to say about my experience there.
Enjoyed the food, service was excellent, just off of the beach. We had our meal out on the patio and it was still pretty noisy..... I say that now because I am old, if I were younger I probably would have said "what noise". We enjoyed our visit and we would recommend this restaurant!
Lovely time here, must sit upstairs. Wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if we didn't sit upstairs! Would recommend :)
Just a lovely spot to sit and look out over the ocean.
Great food! Beer ok, price to expensive you can find better places with better prices of beer and food.
The view from the upstairs dining was great...but it was loud there. The service was excellent. The craft beer and the food could be better.
Came for birthday brunch. Had a reservation for 8 people but no table was setup for us so we had to split the Party up between two tables making it very awkward. Out Server was uninterested and rushed and seemed like she did not want to be there.
Great spot to take our teenage sons--selections they enjoy and also for our foodie tastes. Busy and noisy, but prompt and attentive service.
Good place to eat in a popular centrally located part of Pacific Beach very close to the ocean. Walking distance to everything.
Nice place, close to the beach with patio seating
They do not take same day reservations so we had to wait about 30 mins
Service was great! We really enjoyed our visit during happy hour even though it got a little chilly outside .
Food was excellent. I had the house red ale and it was very good. For food I had the beer cheese burger medium well with a fried egg added on. Perfect. Great fries. We ate on the top floor and had a nice view of the pier in the distance.
No load in music which too often is the case with Beach pubs. I don't want to go deaf, I just a meal with a nice ambiance. So I will be coming back to Alehouse.
We sat out on the patio and had great service! The wings and shrimp/chips were A+
We were in town and wanted seafood that evenings but also wanted some place near the beach. The all u can eat shrimp on Thursday was yummy and I would definitely return. Nice place with great service.
The service was great. Food was marginal. We had chicken tacos, as they were the special for taco Tuesday. I would think the special would be an outstanding item on their menu. Not so much. Chicken was pretty dry. It wasn't a horrible meal, but I probably wouldn't eat here again.
I enjoyed the experience, but I ordered a steak medium to medium rarer and it came totally well done. The waitress could not have benn sweeter, she immediately took the entree back to have another made. It arrived relatively quickly - but the relacepment was just as well done. I just ate the shoe leather.
Every dish was okay, but not memorable or return worthy. Very loud. Almost too loud for normal conversation. Tables and chairs weren't particularly comfortable.
Amazing place. I was in town for business and we ate several other places before finding this gem. We ate here three nights in a row and was never disappointed. Aleah and the serving staff was truly amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I normally do not write reviews and I travel a lot but well worth a shout out!!
Super yummy and fun enviroment but service was a little slow (and we went there 3 different times during our stay).
Maybe not the best family friendly place if you have little kids but if your kids are good at resturants and flexible-this is definately a must stop and eat place in my opinion. The Ale fashion was super delish!!!!!
Great food. Large portions. Very loud. Service was great from the hostess to checkout.
Great service, great food, reasonable cost. A little noisey due to younger crowd. Liked the music, Classic rock.
Great food and service. One small problem was dealt with immediately.
