One of our favorite restaurants in greater Portland. The food is is outstanding-----always interesting, well-prepared and delicious.
Outstanding food and must visit when in Portland!
Worth making a reservation.
A great place served by a charming male who shared his incredible story. From his "Italia" belt to his love of the food here, he even shared his personal journey to Maine with us, making us fall in love with the entire experience even deeper. Amazing squash/pumpking ravioli!
The owners are from Milano in Italy. The menu is mostly pastas along with some traditional Italian antipastos. So the menu is limited. No steak or haddock or chicken dishes as such. But the pastas are very interesting and different from some Italian restaurants that do the American/Southern Italy standards. Paciarino has more Bolognese pastas. The food is very good. The place is quite informal and not at all pretentious or stuffy. Not fancy. Just good food.
We have dined at Paciarino quite a few times- have never been disappointed by the quality of the food and service! This dinner was no exception- wonderful pumpkin filled raviolis and excellent house wine! This was a Sunday night and the restaurant was not filled, which made the ambiance even warmer than usual!
Both pasta dishes my girlfriend and I had were excellent. We're not well versed in wine, but both of our wine choices were very tasty. The service seemed to slow down as the night went on, which is a common theme in their reviews. Would definitely eat here again, but not if I was under any time constraints.
Nice comfortable dining; Excellent service. Pasta pasta pasta. Very good, cooked al dente (I like it a little softer).
Really enjoyed the pasta @ Paciarino. The other dishes were ho hum. The supposed fresh bufalo Mozz was rubbery and seemed not so fresh. Additionally the service staff hit my big pet peeve of trying to make me keep my utensils between courses. This is basic good service 101. May go back but won't be rushing to do so.
Always a wonderful meal. Pasta is freshly made. The lasagna is second to none
The dinner a companion and I had the other evening was a bit of a disappointment - we have had dinner at Pacairino several times and this was the weakest meal. The service was fine and the salad quite nice. The pasta was cooked perfectly but very over peppered - the garlic flavor was lost, We both enjoy spicy food but this was almost inedible.
I had dinner here with my daughter during our visit to Portland. Simple but tasty pasta dishes. I had the goat cheese ravioli and my daughter had the spinach ravioli. We both enjoyed them, perfect filling, warm dinner after walking around in the fall weather all day. Tiramisu was well done. Simple atmosphere, but cozy. A little pricey but we enjoyed our dinner.
Let me start out on a positive note. The service was great, and our wait person was very nice and helpful. The wine was amazing, you can't go wrong with a Brunello. This is my second time to Paciarino. Unfortunately the food was not nearly as good as my first visit. The first time we went we had a four meat ravioli in a butter sage sauce that was to die for! This time I tried the spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli. I was very disappointed, it was just too thick and gummy. Almost like it was previously frozen. Now, the Bolognese sauce it was served with was very good, so that helped. I would probably give Paciarinos another try, but would avoid the ravioli.
For the best Italian food, this is a must. We made a special reservation when driving up to Bar Harbor to spend the night in Portland and eat here! Will do it again.
This place is nothing special! No attention to detail at all! Our server was so slow and inexperienced and obviously overwhelmed. Placed our order and server never checked on us again. Felt invisible! Took forever to get our food, over an hour! I can't even honestly tell you if the food was good as I was so angry and frustrated by the time we got it. Ambience nothing special. Turn down the lights, light some candles and play soft background music. Any of us would do that if we were having a dinner party. My feeling is that this place has had a good past reputation, but is going down hill fast!
Paciarino's specialty is home made pasta and other Italian treats. The green salad was very tasty and appropriately dressed. It was mostly greens with a few cherry tomatoes and thin slices of onion. I had the evening's special which was squash ravioli with a butter sauce and reduced balsamic topping. My serving was very large and quite tasty. It could have used some fresh pepper and grated cheese, but none were offered. My husband had what amounted to mac and cheese and he said it was quite tasty. The service was good, but the staff was overwhelmed with the customers. It took us some time to be able to pay and we needed to because we were trying to tend to a minor family emergency.
My boyfriend and I we headed to a last minute portland trip and this was a great spot for genuine Italian food. Liked the feel and ambiance inside, not too loud, and overall we had a nice time. Great for a date night.
We were trying to find a local Italian restaurant and this place was recommended by the bartender at Bull Feeny's. Great place. Hand made pasta and great service. Everything tasted so fresh.
This cozy little place features fresh pastas and sauces made by hand each day by the owner himself. It's owned and operated by a couple that moved to PORTLAND from Milan recently, and it tastes and feels like you are guests in their home. Great wine list, nice imported cheeses and salamis, delicious food and comfortable, non pretentious atmosphere.
Paciarino is not trendy like most of the stars of the new Portland food scene, but it quietly holds its place among the best in town. I highly recommend it.
Very comfortable, warm restaurant. The food was amazing and the atmosphere fun and relaxed. And the person who waited on us was a delight!
My wife and I went to Paciarino last night with another couple, hoping to catch up on old times and to eat some great food. What we found was very decent food in a noisy environment that largely lacked charm. The service was okay, but only okay. The wine list was very limited, and the lack of a full bar filled out the recipe for "meh." I won't be hurrying back.
