Is was a good experience except for the fact that they no longer deal with open table. They did not have my reservation listed. When i booked it they were still a member. I guess they no longer are.
Not a very good meal at Pace's Dockside. First, they told me that I didn't have a reservation even though I showed them open table, they claim they're no longer affiliated. I have to rebook the reservation for a different time. When we got there they took us to the back room which is very dark even though they were many open tables in the front room. When I asked the hostess why she said she didn't know she was told to alternate front room back room. I asked if we could wait for the front room and how long would the wait be and she very rudely responded no one's ever asked me that question before. They moved us to the front and sat us right in front of the front door, literally the worst table there, when they were at least a half a dozen other open tables. The food was decent, the drinks were decent, expensive for this part of Long Island. We had an extremely long wait between appetizers and the mains, no one ever came to check on us a refill on the bread or water. Because the waiters just take the order in the runners bring it out no one checked our orders. Between appetizers and mains we had three separate food mistakes. Sweet potato mash instead of regular mash, Raw clams instead of clams casino, regular wings instead of the duck wings and my wife's vegetables were forgotten then came out after we told the waiter at the end of the meal. You would think they would offer a glass of wine or take something off the bill or at least apologize, but no.
Food was great and I was impressed with the crab cake because it was not greasy like a lot of crab cakes i've had. The waitress was very nice, drinks were good. I would go back. Only thing was it was very loud in the dining room and it wasn't even busy.
All was good, but disappointed with beet salad. The beets were canned! That was wrong! Never serve beets from a can! And pay as if they were fresh!
So beautiful and a great place to relax. Food was great love it my new fav👌
Great views and food was terrific!
The food was disgusting - really not edible. We waited 40 mins for a pizza and two sandwiches which tasted like they were frozen and warmed in a microwave. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT
Went out with a group of women as a mom's night out. Great view of the inlet and sunset. The live music was good. The bar waa lively and a great place to stay after dinner for some drinks. The specialty cocktail menu was worth the money. The food selection was extensive and maybe a bit overwhelming. The service was good. Dessert was the only disappointment as two of the choices were not very tasty. Overall a great place to dine.
had a wonderful few days on our boat at strongs marina which is on the same grounds of Paces. Great asset to have such a great bar and restaurant at a marina. We will be back
We had a lovely table on the patio. The food was delish !! I was so pleased !!! The wine was lovely and or waiter, if he did not know something, he went and found out. I so recommend this lovely restaurant
Had the marinated steak. IT was dried out and overcooked. The owner made a point of explaining how the marinade dries out the meat. Never heard that before. Would never get steak at this steak house again.
Food was not too great and service was slow
Seemed a bit dirty
This is a great spot, perfect for enjoying a nice summer evening. Our food was very good, except for the notable exception of the grilled pizza. With no kids menu, and not many kids friendly options, we went with that for them, and as someone who makes grilled pizza all the time at home, I know how good it can be. This was not. Using fresh tomatoes made for a VERY soggy pizza that I didn't blame the kids for not wanting to eat. Thankfully their bread is delicious and they brought us extra so the kids didn't starve. But I would highly suggest they make some fresh sauce, simmer it down and THEN make the pizza to hopefully avoid the soggy mess we had on our table. Otherwise, the food was good, our waitress was incredibly nice, she offered to bring a side of fries out for the kids, and I really loved the atmosphere!!
Starters were served with entre Clams Casino were tiny.
Fish was ordered moist and served overcooked. Manager made it a point to inform us that the server did not enter our order correctly and that is why starters were served with main course. Expensive and disappointing.
Seemed like they were understaffed for the volume diners . Arrived 20 minutes early with a reservation for 4 and although there were multiple tables available outside for four , we had to wait until our reservation time so we can be seated at our "predetermined" table. None of the other empty tables for 4 were filled until about 8 PM. Didn't make sense . Although very polite and respectful , the staff seemed overwhelmed and the team managing the seating was inexperienced and inflexible . Food was pretty good though and the atmosphere/view excellent. More of a happy/hour & hors appetizer by the pool type of experience then a full sit down dinner .
Rude!!!! Just seems like inexperienced staff. Didn't even stay to try the food it was so bad.
Dad's 84th birthday. Thursday night. Mentioned birthday OT res, told hostess before seating, mentioned to waiter when taking desert order (we didn't order anything) they didn't bring anything. Pretty routine place. Efficient service, nothing special. Location nice, been there before when it was Touch of Venice. Didn't feel as if any real management was present, just staff. Swordfish special was great, duck really good but side of raw spinach was kind of weird, and the pasta with shrimp and scallops was over-sauced but tasty.
The food was very good our waiter was a hoot and so nice...he's a keeper!!! I know the bartender Jeff so I knew the drinks would be very good...all around had a great time and will most certaintaly be back
Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We recommend very highly.
Going back in 2 weeks for concert series.
Check their website.
Seating next to the sliding door while loud music outside was irritating with drunk customers coming in and out for the restrooms. The entire room was empty but we were sat right next to the door.
Food was nothing special, extremely disappointed
Like the ambience and the staff just had a bad meal it happens definitely going to give them another shot
Wonderful dinner with friends The service was excellent !!
Defineitly will go back...
Delightful solid dining with very enthusiastic staff
We had a wonderful meal at Paces Dockside,it was our first time there the food was delicious- just right size portions. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back..
Delicious home made hot rolls, excellent Long Island duck, great martini. Also very good friendly service from Anthony.
Would benefit from some warmer ambiance with table clothes and candlelight. Overall a great addition to the a North Fork.
Nothing was bad, but on the whole it was disappointing. Great location. I would go there for drinks and appetizers.
We had the duck, chicken and steak. All of the food was very good. The service was excellent.
We've been here before and thought to try it again because of the great water views.
Our waitress did not follow up with drinks and I had to stop her to tell her how I'd like my steak cooked, the bar ran out of tonic but didn't say until I asked why my gin and tonic tasted like it had been made with seltzer.
I had order the special which was a rib eye off the bone, medium rare. When it arrived it was over cooked and had a steak sauce and mushrooms on it - which the waitress failed to tell me about when reviewing the specials.
Overall the staff appeared on edge - as if they were all going to fired that night!
Repeat customer/patron of Pace's Dockside. Consistently good experience, varied menu, good to excellent service, great drinks. One of the better options on the North Fork with the added bonus of having great views and the option to dine outside in season. Have visited Pace's many times and have never left disappointed.
We had reservations for a big group. When we arrived although the place was mostly empty, we still had to wait almost 10 minutes for the table to be cleared. I know that's not long but since I'm doing the review it was annoying considering we had picked a specific time on open table in order to be ready and not end up there all night. For the area the prices were what I expected..mostly..although on the site it gave only two money signs so I guess I expectes better.
Again the place was NOT busy, yet the server(s) took a decent amount of time between coming by. I want to point out here that I never leave poor reviews I really don't. I just was so disappointed when it was all said and done...which brings me to it.
The food overall was maybe - 6/10. 3 plates had mashed potatoes and they were cold. Like if you know dishes are coming at different times then plan accordingly, that's how it works. No one was impressed with their food, except the steak that got good reviews. None of the other plates were anything special...at all...the appetizers were good, but VERY small.
At summer time the atmosphere seems like it would be awesome place for drinks and maybe a date. But I can't recommend this place with all the reasons above. The staff was very nice though, just unimpressive all around besides that.
Excellent meal, excellent service. Loved the ambiance.
Impromptu stop that paid off.
I thought the restaurant was very nicely decorated. It was warm and welcoming. We were greeted by a very friendly young man who made us feel welcome. Service was very good. Drinks were served and then the food was served at the perfect pace. You didn't have to wait nor did you feel rushed. It was our first time at this restaurant and we plan to visit again and bring friends with us. Keep up the good job.
Very nice meal with attentive service. Regular menu looked reasonably priced
I am now a repeat customer of paces. It's a little out of the way for us, but well worth the trip we take. The food is consistent and delicious. As well as the service. What more could a diner ask for? I go through withdrawals from not having the duck wings. I can't wait for the outside dining on the patio!
Always a hit or miss whenever we go to Pace's Dockside. Christmas Eve was a miss. $160 for two for a 4-course meal was certainly not worth the price. Food was salty, especially the steamed mussels broth. The bread was old. Salad was very soggy and overdressed. Had twice baked potato on the menu when it was just plain baked potato. Don't put it there just to make it look good and not deliver.. Requested another and came back with the same baked potato with sour cream and bacon bits. Chef's interpretation they said. 🙄 We had dessert to go. The cheesecake was watery and carrot cake dry. We just tossed them. Overpriced, mediocre food. Probably skip it next time or will not go back.
The Thanksgiving buffet at Pace's Dockside was very good! The staff was courteous and attentive. Wish I had gone back to the buffet for a second helping of the prime rib!
We had a delicious dinner in a beautiful setting. Will definitely go again.
Service was terrible. Food was terrible. There were flies everywhere , and it was expensive for the quality and service provided. Very disappointing
first time...truly exceeded expectations by a very wide margin
Terrible ambiance. Like a glorified coffee shop. Food mediocre at best. Nice staff but not worth the trip. Try Case's instead of Pace's.
