Signature dishes include the Poke Trio with Shrimp Chips, Ulu Fries with Furikake and Sweet Hawaiian Mustard, Compressed Watermelon, Huli Huli Chicken with Chinese Broccoli and the Ono Knife Burger with Maui Onion Jam, Fried Egg, Avocado Bacon on a Purple Taro Bun.
The Hawaii restaurant also features a full bar with signature cocktails, an extensive wine list, and an array of desserts including Chocolate Haupia Pie, Malasadas “Donuts", and Hawaiian Sweet Bread Pudding.
A complete disappointment. If you want to sit and not be waited on then this is the place for you! Don’t order any drinks unless you don’t mind waiting 20-30 minutes. To top it off we received cold food and a $200 bill.
Pa Akai used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Recently they have changed their menu and it is a disaster. The ambience and the service are still excellent; however, the new menu concept leaves a lot to be desired. Please return to your original concept and menu. The new concept is a black eye on the Turtle Bay Resort
We did not enjoy our experience at Pa’akai. My wife and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary and we’re looking forward to a nice meal at our resort. All of the food was subpar at best, and the restaurant had the vibe of a decent hotel bar from the 80s. We ordered the Tuna appetizer and it came with 5 slices of meat, all of which were drenched in some sort of Aioli. We also ordered the sushi roll, and the portions of rice were much larger than anything I’ve had previously. The service was fine, but not anything stellar. We went to Roy’s (also at turtle bay) the night after and had a much better experience. Highly recommend that for your dinner option if you’re staying at the resort.
Great place to celebrate an Anniversary!!’
Good food, great ambience
Our server was pleasant and efficient. The lettuce for the shared lettuce wrap appetizer was partly wilted. Both my chicken and my partner’s fish were over cooked and dry. The wine list was off the charts expensive although we found a nice NZ Sauve Blanc for $48.
Loved the food and atmosphere.
We made a reservation for brunch ....and got there to find out on a Sunday they were no longer serving BRUNCH .... Never got to eat after driving an hour from the other side of the island
Not loving the new menu. And an updated menu online would be really helpful. Staff was great. Just hated the menu. Seems like there is the same type of things on every menu in the resort. Would love to see some variety. Right now it just seems like everything is asian fusion. Everything.
Sadly this restaurant is closing 11/15/19.
The casual hotel dining option will move to this location while the other area is remodeled.
We love this restaurant, with its elegant setting and outstanding food and service. We enjoyed the fresh oysters, lobster tail and ahi tataki. From past visits we can also recommend the fresh fish and scallops. It is located in the Turtle Bay Resort, which will be undergoing renovations. We hope that Pa'akai will be part of the renovated property.
Food was excellent even if a bit pricey. Service was very good. Main dishes and appetizers were very good. Dessert was ok. Altogether my party of six enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant.
We had terrific service, a great view and terrific food. We are truly truly dismayed to hear the restaurant is closing and that when it reopens the "concept" and dining experience will be different and NOT a fine dining experience. This is one of the only reasons we consider staying on the North Shore. There are no other options for fine dining and now there will be none. This will factor into our return to the North Shore for vacation.
Awesome experience again! Second time dining here and it was great. Service, ambiance, food and environment as an entirety excellent! I will continue to dine here and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.
Excellent food, view and service. Expensive but expected in Hawaii.
My golfing buddy and I had an excellent meal ... we started with the seafood tower (yummy!), escargot (scrumptious!) ... he had the rack of lamb which he indicated was one of the best he's had; I had the bone-in filet (it was tasty and tender). We split an order of asparagus and a bottle of wine.
Our server Zara was personable and professional ... great service!
We liked our meal and was saddened to hear that the restaurant is closing to change its format. That's too bad, there are few fine dining venues anywhere close to Turtle Bay.
Great view of the sunset the food was fancy but not impressive for the price. The other restaurants on the resort are better and the one next door to this one has the same view of the sunset. I would recommend skipping this one.
Fabulous meal, amazing view/ambiance and amazing service by staff, while enjoying the North Shore! Had the fillet of beef and seared sea scallops, which were absolutely perfect. Enjoyed it so much we went there 2 nights in a row.
Great restaurant at Turtle Bay. Zara was an awesome server.
Nice place to watch sunset food excellent
Our orders were extremely slow out of kitchen (1hour). Food was good. Waiter was apologetic and had manager come to us and made a sizable adjustment to our check. Great gesture but the evening was ruined.
Everything was awesome! The food was spot on, highly recommend the whole fish. Julianna from Brazil was a fantastic server, place would not be the same without her there! We went both nights we were staying there mostly cause of her!
The food is quite good although it would be nice if there were more raw bar selections for 1 person. The service is poor. I ordered sparkling Rose but was given regular rose. I said "That is not what I ordered" and the waiter just walked away. It took 10 minutes plus to have the waiter even come over to my table. I ordered a caesar salad and ahi tuna which are basically raw and it took a long time. Took forever to get my check as well.
Amazing dinner!!! The atmosphere was very inviting, calm, and elegant. The service was 5 star service.
Nice ambiance, good variety of menu items, excellent food and service. Thought the prices were on the high side. We shared the deep fried Opakapaka, and thought the presentation and flavor were great!
The service (especially the bus boy from Ethiopia) was phenomenal. We will come back for the Riesling, seared ahi app, and service.
The food was outstanding as well as the service. Our server Juliana made our experience and anniversary very special. The restaurant decor is blue like the ocean, and tables/seats inside are very comfortable. I would have given 5 stars on ambiance and a better rating on the noise level, but unfortunately for us, there was a loud table of people who didn't realize they were in a restaurant with other people around.
Wonderful dining experience for my husband’s 50th birthday.
Very beautiful sunset view. Best on the resort.
My niece is visiting for the first time in 10 years. Wanted everything to be special and our experience at Pa`akai was all that. Food was wonderful, service great and the view OMG. Awesome. Pricey but worth it.
Birthday dinner. Money well spent. Best scallops I’ve ever had. Fish was well flavoured - not too plain. Complimentary birthday cake. Great experience over all.
Great service. Amazing view. Delicious food and drinks!! Was there for anniversary! Perfect evening!!
We let them know it was our 34th anniversary and wife retirement after 37 years of teaching so asked for a nice table we could see ocean and sunset....arrived and hostess took us to a table as far away from what we asked as possible.
Waiter was nice but very distracted the whole time. Appetizers were good and arrived fast. Dinner took forever to arrive and not that busy. Wife’s rib steak was big but tough. My NY steak was big and very good but the three pieces of shrimp with it were way overdone and cold. $300......
Food and service at pool way better and waaaay cheaper.
This was a celebration for my wife’s birthday. The staff was welcoming and attentive. I had the salmon and my wife had the New York Steak. We both enjoyed our food and found it flavorful. The cheese on my wife’s onion soup was a little burnt but otherwise it was also good. For dessert my wife had the Bavarian Tropical fruit and I had the carrot cake. We were both disappointed in our desserts. Otherwise we would rate this five stars.
We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. However it is very pricey, but worth it!
We celebrated a double birthday at Pa'akai at Turtle Bay Resort! They made sure everything was perfect from the classy atmosphere and super service to our delicious meals and the birthday cake! It was a magical evening!
