Pa‘akai – or “sea salt” in the Hawaiian language – features local sea-to-table cuisine.

The menu varies daily in order to highlight the best in fresh, locally caught fish, farm-raised lobster, Kauai prawns, sea asparagus, seaweed and sea salt produced in Hawaii.

In addition to the extensive wine list, Pa'akai also features a full bar with mixologists crafting a wide variety of martinis and craft cocktails.

Pa'akai is located at Turtle Bay Resort along Oahu's North Shore and is loved by visitors and locals alike.

The ambience was amazing! We sat outside and it was really nice. Able to listen to the live band playing by the pool and watch all the surfers.

I ordered pumpkin raviolis and they were really good. My daughter got the salmon dish and it was really fresh! I think it needed a little more seasoning. We did get dessert and it was good.

I was a little disappointed in the food and quality. I felt for the price you would have all high quality food. I think I had high expectations of the restaurant. I think Roy’s is still my top choice when visiting Turtle Bay Resort.

My wife said the scallops were delicious. I enjoyed the market fish. I did not care for the wasabi mashed potatoes. This place is very expensive. I prefer the other restaurant options that we tried at this resort. I think they are a better value.

Dining at Pa’aiki was a highlight of our Turtle Bay experience. We genuinely enjoyed the lovely ambiance, as well as the outstanding food and service! We felt like honored guests from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we walked out. Our server Mike was especially professional and friendly, but everyone who assisted us from the hostesses to the serving assistant (Ephraim) and the gentleman who brought our food and carefully described everything on the plates made it a special night for us. Aloha oe, Pa’akai! We will definitely be back.

This restaurant is very expensive- main courses cost $50+. The food was very good but, for a place that values locally sourced ingredients, why only one or two Hawaiian fish dishes? Why have multiple shellfish dishes sourced from the mainland?

Our server was pretty good but the bar sent out a glass of sparkling wine that was flat. My Tanqueray martini wasn’t made with Tanqueray. My dish, and the plate it was served on were tepid.

Too many lapses for a place aiming to be “fine dining” with prices to match.

Excellent meal and service all around. The seafood tower was spectacular and the scallops were the best I’ve ever had. Nice wine list, and you can’t best the view.

The photos make it look like the restaurant is beach side so, a month in advance I reserved a table by the ocean. In fact it looks over the pool and the very noisy pool bar. I spent $250 on dinner for two while listening to a rowdy frat crowd yell 'chug chug chug', just 15 feet away.

The service was wonderful. Slow, but very hospitable and welcoming. The chocolate ganache cake for my boyfreinds birthday was a lovely surprise!

The food was fine. $70 steak with $14 side was fine. $55 fish was fine. I was prepared to pay a hefty premium to eat in a beautiful spot - this wasn't it.

Everything was fabulous it was our honey moon weekend and the dinner was so good ! Seafood was so fresh and good and the ribeye was extremely tender. Mike was our server and was so attentive and genuinely nice! will definitely recommend and come back.

We all ordered the blue crab crusted market fish with burre blanc, bok choy, and wasabi mashed potatoes... it was amazing! We finished it off with the pistachio cheesecake which was to die for. Our waitress was very pleasant and we will be back!

A big noisy group really spoiled the evening at an otherwise great restaurant. The space is too small to have most of it taken up by a big table. Would not go back for this reason as its unpredictable.

Salads had too much dressing.

Asparagus was tough and woody. Ended up not being charged for the 14 dollar asparagus side dish.

52 dollar fish dish was not incredible.

Ran out of chocolate cake!

Fillet steak was good.

Not worth $200 for two people to eat dinner.

The food was excellent, bit noisy with smaller children near by. Service was great. The portion of the crab seemed a bit small, but the medallions were fantastic. Great reservations and we were seated promptly. Will go back on our next visit.

Pa’akai did an amazing job hosting our party of 16 for my sister wedding reception/dinner. They cut her cake for us with out hesitation! Everything from the ocean waves to the drinks and oh my the surf and turf! Thank you so much! Everyone and everything was very pleasant from start to finish! Mahalo! 🌺 3-23-2019

Oysters had a lot of shell pieces broken in them. Oysters should not be crunchy. Ponzu sauce should have been a topping option. Brussel sprouts were the most amazing I’ve ever had.

Steaks were overcooked, but good luck finding someone to tell. Also, half of the seafood tower was overcooked. Desserts tasted store bought. Way over priced for what is offered.

Heard great reviews from friends but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. Expected fine dining but found the food preperations to be uninspired. Hoped for a special dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday. Instead paid high prices for mediocre food and piped in Dean Martin music.

Amazing food and wonderful night had at Pa'akai! We had 7:15 dinner reservations for 2 and were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. We were given a window table, however, it was after the sun went down and we had only our reflections in the glass to look at! Definitely not an issue, just something to note if you're reservations are after sundown. Our server was very friendly and was always there to answer any questions we had. The restaurant was also very accommodating to our food allergy (dairy) and were quick to offer suggestions or ask the chef if they weren't sure (which those who have an allergy know is not always the case). Our food was perfectly cooked and phenomenal! I had the ribeye (I think they called it the prime rib, but it was grilled and not slow roasted) and it was cooked to perfection and was the perfect cut! I'm very particular about my ribeye and this absolutely exceeded my expectations! Overall, we had a wonderful night out and never felt rushed or pressured to pay and leave.

Our Server - Tiago from Brasil was the second most outstanding part of the experience - besides my beautiful fiancé - who would not have an appropriate category here... kinda off-the-charts and outta-da-universe kine

We had the seafood tower for an appetizer. Everything was perfect......the oysters, crab legs, shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, onion soup, Brussel sprouts and the perfectly prepared Parrot fish. Great food and perfect service made this a memorable night!

Service was amazing and food was delicious! My husband and I shared a beautiful bottle of J Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir with the pumpkin ravioli and a perfectly cooked filet!

We have eaten at Pa'akai several times, as we live 3 miles down Kam hwy. This was a new menu for us
and we thought it was terrific. The food was excellent and the prices reasonble. We'll be back.

Came here for a romantic weekend and will definitely be back! Here’s the quick and dirty!

Service: staff is very attentive and accommodating, the hostess ensured to ask if this was for a special occasion and the server was very gracious, wishing us well in our special day and gave us a drink and appetizer in the house!

Food: we ordered the escargot which comes with puff pastry (and was totally delicious) and the Caesar salad which was nicely dressed w/tender greens, we were given complimentary Parmesan bread and ahi taretare which was good, but would have been better if served w/some crostini because it needed a little texture. Entrees: 16 oz ribeye, filet/lobster surf and turf and Brussels sprouts. Ribeye was delicious and portion was huge! Filet was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the lobster was very sweet and served with roasted garlic, roasted tomato and lemon. The Brussels sprouts have a subtle maple flavor and macadamia nut for crunch. All delicious! For dessert we ordered the vanilla creme brûlée which was silky and executed so well!

The only complaint I have is the ambiance of the restaurant I didn’t really love. Great beach views, however it’s already a small space and we were on the lower level of the restaurant and were slightly crowded near the emergency exit and another table. It was weird hearing ALL the other party’s conversations during our dinner.

All in all, delicious food at a beautiful resort on the north shore, will be back again!

Staying at the resort. A bit “gun shy” after a much less than satisfying dinner at “Roy’s”. This eatery more than made up for it. Nice menu, terrific wine list, and friendly waitstaff.
