P. F. Chang's - Waikiki Ratings and Reviews
We have been to many different locations around the United States, this location was the most unorganized. I love that we could set our reservations online due to calling 4 times and none picking up. The food and drinks are always amazing! But our waitress was rushing us and not really listening to anything we said! We ordered the vegetarian lettuce wraps (pregnant craving) which I get every Time I go, she never put our order in and by the time she came back to check on us we where done eatting and had empty cups and no dessert menu. Plus when we where trying to order pur drinks I was going to order the starter then to and she just talked away laughing (I think had something to do with the first ordering of that item). Then when we went to pay for our meal she mixed our payment with another tables, went to fix the problem and still messed it up! We where not happy that ontop of her not ever ordering our starter, never checking on us, leaving our glasses empty, not asking if we wanted dessert, and messing our bill up twice, we never got a discount or even a sorry for the mix up. If we go back to this location we will make sure to not get the same waitress.
Dependable place for Asian favourites. What I don't get is why restaurants calculate the tip for you, and include the tax? Servers don't serve you tax why should customers tip them for it? This location went one step further this time tho and the 20% suggestion was actually over 23% of the after tax amount, almost 25% of the subtotal! What's up with that? I always start the tip at 20% of the subtotal and deduct from there if things go bad or add if things go well, and we're pretty easy to please so it's usually 20% or better. We always deduct at least a couple points tho at restaurants who use the after tax amount to make their suggestion. We like Changs but they need to get better at math or they’ll lose us.
The food was above average, however the wait time was incredibly long for what amounted to high end Chinese food. We arrived at 8PM, ordered at 8:15 PM and didn't receive our food until about 9PM. They were busy, however even when we dine at the Cheesecake Factory on their busiest nights, we've never waited longer than about 15-20 minutes for food and their menu is much more robust than P.F. Chang's.
Our server did a great job considering the circumstances and was very apologetic, so we didn't stiff him on the tip. However, we won't be back to P.F. Chang's.
Their Honolulu location is one of the best places to get food. In many of the other Asian restaurants you really don't feel well after eating. The only complaint is the noise level due to many drunk tourists. It's not "electric" as Open Table describes it; it's just too f___ing loud. Not sure if the place has any control over that, but bring ear plugs when you go there.
Easy to get a reservation via open table. I even changed the time the day of from 6:30 to 5 and it wasn’t a problem at all. Bryan was our server, he was nice and friendly.
Food was so yummy. My 13 year old said her sushi roll (I forgot the name) was the best roll she’s ever had. My drink the “aloha kiss” was really yummy too. They have a nice kids menu , lots of options.
I haven’t been here since the Ward location and excited to revisit however became extremely disappointed in the food quality. The menu seemed very sparse and when ordered, majority of our food tasted like lemongrass or stale.
As I work as a concierge, I sadly will not be recommending it due to food quality. Definitely not worth the $100+ bill even during happy hour.
I love P.F. Chang's - it's one of my favorite restaurants in the US. I was excited to try the one in Waikiki. I was taking my parents and son who had never been to a P.F. Chang's. Unfortunately just about everything went wrong.
Our waiter was a total dud. Horrible service. It was like he was stoned or something. I figured the food could make up for the bad service. Then came the food... not good. But then when my mother almost choked on what looked like a used piece of floss that was it. We were done. Apparently it was a plastic tie that is used to hold food together and it got mixed in with our Beef and Broccoli. Yuck!
The manager came over and took off the price of that entree and was friendly enough. I don't think my parents will ever go back; however, I'm sure I'll go back to another P.F. Chang's location in the US (minus this one).
Food was fine, quite different from the mainland and the prices were significantly more. They do not honor the loyalty program nor will they honor certificates from their PF Changs emails. Quite a let down when you walk in expecting to use a BOGO coupon and end up spending $75 for pretty much "Panda Express" with amazing service. Don't waste your time or money...Walk a few streets off the main drag and experience real food.
Overall, it was an okay experience. The wait staff was friendly and very nice. Appetizers came out in a timely manner. Calamari and crab wontons were good. The Mahi mahi was a very generous size and had a really nice taste to it. Beef lo Mein was very oily and definitely not worth the price paid. Not a terrible experience but don’t think the prices justify the quality of food or what you get.
Everything started off great, service was good at first, we got our drinks and food pretty quick. After we got our food the service went down. We hardly saw our server again. Appetizers were very good but our entree (cashew almond chicken) was not good at all! We had to ask for soy sauce and the three other sauces. Ordered coffee after dinner and it was cold!! We were disappointed as we really enjoy our P. F. Chang's in Phx.
