Slow service, mediocre food, but fun environment and concept
All around terrible. I do not recommend in the least.
Didn’t time plates well and took forever for some dishes.
We waited hours for some of the items we ordered during the bottomless brunch. We were also charged for 10 meals.....there were 9 of us.....
It was my sons birthday and my birthday dinner. We were looking forward to an awesome dinner with his friends. Well, It took almost 20 minutes before any waiter came to check to see what we would like to drink... and it was down Hill from there. We had to ask 3 times for more rolls, and the place was almost empty. In terms of the food- ugh- OUTSTANDING!!! The chef out did their self on every dish. If it wasn’t for such poor service on my sons 18th birthday, I would absolutely be back just for the food...
I went for brunch and the food was really good but the service was terrible. Our waitress really didn't care to serve us. We sat for 15-20 mins in between plates waiting for our food that our waitress never ordered. During brunch you can only order one plate at a time. She was moderately busy but not friendly or personable at all.
Eeek!! Terrible! Food was not edible. I’m surprised this place is still open. It is aptly named Oz. I was clicking my ruby slippers, wishing I was home!
I would have given 5 stars, but my first impression wasn't good. There is a sign at the host's station that says "open seating, seat yourself" so we chose a table right inside the door. After 5-10 minutes, a server approached us and asked who sat us there, because that dining room is closed on Mondays and Thursdays. Perhaps having someone actually standing at the host's station to greet customers would prevent such things from happening in the future. Our meal was fantastic and I can't say enough wonderful things about the variety on the menu.
Oz was beautifully decorated with modern, trendy decor! Very friendly staff with an added bonus of meeting the famous Real Housewife of Potomac, Ashley Darby who was as beautiful in person as she is on tv and super sweet too!! The food was excellent!
Came for my daughter’s 18th birthday brunch. Food was well prepared, service was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Love Oz!
This was possibly the worst restaurant experience I've had.
We came for brunch and all chose the bottomless option. Between the group, we tried every item and we were not pleased with the options. I can't think of one item that we had that was just "ok". Everything was just.. bad.
Firstly, I want to be clear that I intend to give oz a second chance because it could have been a fluke. The very first impression is that it was very loud. There were 2 musicians at the entrance and it was very hard to hear the hostess. Our table was next to the bar but right next to the restrooms. Kind of disappointing that I went through the trouble to reserve table only to be pushed next to the toilet and the music was still quite loud.
We were presented with water but not sure if it was the glass decanter or the water that was off color. It was a little off putting. The waiter was very nice and gave some great suggestions so no complaints there. We completed our order and I asked for one singular slider so I could taste the kangaroo but was given 3. Not a ding or complaint. Just stating a fact. The rest of the food was over cooked and not all that impressive. My friend had the eggs Benedict and the hash was burnt. I had the breakfast tacos and they were quite messy. I would have liked the waiter to have brought more napkins without being asked but not a horrible fail. Just a suggestion. We then ordered the sweet potato hash and that was probably the best out of what we ordered. It had good flavor and was cooked well.
Overall I’d say it’s worth a second try but I was underwhelmed.
Came here with a group to watch an NFL game and have brunch. Made a reservation which was worthwhile. We did the bottomless brunch option and got to pick as many small plates as we wanted. There were about 20 different menu items to pick from so everyone was able to find a few things they liked. The champagne and mimosas were bottomless and definitely a good value. We were not rushed to get out, we stayed for the entirety of one NFL game and into a second. I would highly recommend.
The preparation of the food needs work. Things were over cooked and underwhelming.
Very good dinning experience. Food was delicious and service was even better. The waiter/waitress were very friendly. Would highly recommend trying Oz for something different!
Multiple dinners over past two years. Innovative combinations, consistently good and tasty. Keeps me coming back!
A group of us went to Oz for Saturday brunch. You really can't beat the price - $35 for all you can eat, plus bottles of prosecco for 10 cents. There's a two hour limit, but the value is really hard to top. The service was a bit slow. Although I wasn't surprised, considering how busy it was. The food was pretty good. I especially enjoyed the chicken and doughnuts. I will definitely return in the future!
Delicious, fun, and GREAT SERVICE!
It was our first experience there for brunch. There was live music that we enjoyed, we asked the waiter to have him turn down the amp because we could even hear our conversations amongst ourselves but he didn’t . Food was par, service was slow. We enjoyed the decor.
The service was horrible. My friend found a long piece of plastic in one of her burgers. The drinks were watered down. The server didn’t know the menu at all and was very slow. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was empty. The upkeep of the restaurant was very poor.
I ordered the beef sliders and it was by far the worst burger I've ever had. I feel like the quality of meat that was used was extremely poor and I nearly got sick.
Menu had a collection of Australian meats that other restaurants don't include.
Got the exotic sliders and mac and cheese. The sliders were good but not as varied as you’d expect for camel and kangaroo. The Mac and cheese was amazing and the biscuits they bring you to start were great.
My cousin and I visited the restaurant for an early Sunday lunch and our waiter Tim was so sweet. He gave us his top food and drink recommendations and other things to try our next visit. The food and service was great!
Undewhelming brunch - the coffee was horrible and the food was fine, but nothing I couldn't whip up at home without too much trouble. Didn't seem worth it, plus our waitress wasn't very attentive. The live music was awesome, but reeaaaally loud. Won't be coming back when Arlington has so many other great brunch spots.
Good time overall
Sad I didn't get to meet Ashley. Also wish there were more Australian dishes on the main menu!
Disappointed with the food options on brunch menu. I tried 4 options and only ate the fruit.
Kangaroo & camel sliders were exotic - as promoted - & amazingly delicious!
The exotic menu was.... interesting. I liked the camel sliders but the kangaroo skewers and venison were not for me. The regular menu was good! Good service. Smaller restaurant! Not bad overall.
Australian meats are an acquired taste. You may be disappointed if you don’t know this going in. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing.
The only reason I didn't give it less stars was because of our waiter Tim. He was very pleasant and knew the menu well. And cared to check on us from time to time. I didn't find alot of variety in their menu. The food was nothing to run home to write about. It was just OKAY
This place offers an amazing brunch! My friend and I enjoyed the somewhat tapas style food option during brunch.
Get rid of the LOUD music during Sunday brunch. We couldn’t have a decent conversation without yelling! Neither could any of the other diners.
Service was very slow and the food was underwhelming. We were there from 5 until 7PM on a Saturday. The restaurant had maybe 4 tables seated, but the wait staff were very slow with no real reason why. Our waiter ignored us consistently, and we had to physically chase him down to get our check. The food was either overseasoned or not seasoned at all. Not the worst food I've had, but I'm not going back.
Classic Saturday brunch! Good service, avg food, good booze deals
Great service and food was excellent! We loved the restaurant week menu and tried Australian dishes!
I wanted to go here after watching the owner on Real Housewives of Potomac. I enjoyed the brunch deal and will be back again for dinner
Had their great value lunch special M-F - $15 for salad/main and a glass of wine. Had the fish tacos and they were delicious (barramundi fish which is one of my favs) I've had the fish and chips there before also - but unfortunatley when I had them they were somewhat over-fried and were quite dark in colour. This time my friend had them and they looked perfect (again Barramundi fish - which I often have when in Australia). It's unfortunate they don't get so many customers for lunch Mon-Fri - but I have had a couple of average meals there in the past - but this meal was extremely fresh and delicious. Will definitely have them again.
There was almost no one there, but service was slow. Food was Ok, but the description on the menu was poor.
