Unique and interesting place with fun twists on breakfast! I’ve never seen a better brunch deal!
I had a wonderful time here. The noise was normal conversation. The food was excellent. The service matched along. The food came out quick and tasty. I recommend this as a great brunch of all groups.
I definitely recommend Oz Restaurant for brunch! The food was great and the mimosas were delicious! I'm returning to Oz Restaurant soon.
Oz was one of our favorite go-to restaurants until this last experience. We arrived with a group for brunch, we had reservations, and there was a DJ playing extremely loud music. They were going to seat us next to the DJ, and since we would have liked to talk with our friends during brunch, we asked for a seat away from the music. They put us at a different table but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk--despite asking them to turn down the music multiple times. On top of that only about half of the food we ordered actually arrived, and even then we had to keep reminding our waiter to bring our food. I had to wait 45 minutes for my first dish to arrive. Mind you--this is a two hour bottomless brunch. Also we were next to the back door where cigarette smoke kept wafting in.
We chose Oz because we have only had great experiences before, and we talked the restaurant up to our friends--two other couples that actually drove in from different cities to celebrate my husband's birthday--and we were devastated that this experience was so awful. We really wanted this to be fun and special and we were shocked that this experience was so bad. And--on top of all that, they had the audacity to charge us a mandatory 20% gratuity for the terrible service and lack of food we received--not only including excessive wait times for food but also almost never refilling our water glasses despite being asked repeatedly. When they charged us a mandatory 20% tip it was like a slap in the face. And we all thought--no wonder they didn't care about bringing us our food on time, or bringing water, or anything else--the waiters KNEW they would charge us a mandatory 20% tip--so they didn't care about making us a priority. I always tip at least 20%, but being mandated to pay that amount for the abysmal experience we had is unacceptable.
Amazing experience!! Loved the DJ
Three of us ate at Oz’s for brunch to celebrate a birthday and we loved it! There was live music, plenty of ambiance, great service, good food and fabulous drinks. Their espresso martini was delicious
Very nice atmosphere. We were there at 5:30 on Saturday evening. Sample sliders were not good but all other items were VERY good...chimichurri shrimp, mussels, scallops, lamb pie!!!!
Really enjoyed the all you can eat small plate deal. Innovative takes on several. All were good. Server Matt? Was great. Will go back next time I’m in Arlington.
We have been here several times and we always go back because of the way their brunch is set up. We love that everything is in small portions and they just leave the bottle of champagne with you for a pour it yourself bottomless mimosas. However, our service the last couple times has not been great. Food was forgotten and it took a really long time for them to take our first order. Overall though their brunch is the best value in the area!
Our server was amazing! My friends and I went for the bottomless brunch. He explained the menu to us very clearly and was very attentive the entire time. We will be returning next time for another brunch. Great deal, vibe, and experience.
I like going here because it's swanky and relaxing for drinks with a small or large group. There's never a wait or trouble getting a reservation. The availability is mostly driven by the fact that the food is just plain bad. Nothing tastes fresh. Cacio e pepe has no cacio or pepe (cheese and black pepper), mussel pots are small tasteless oily concoctions, truffle mac is over-boiled noodles with oil and hot sauce. All the pasta tastes like they put sugar in the pasta water. Everyone at my table hated their savory pies.
So overall, i had a pretty decent experience. I reserved a table for my birthday, and the was a minor mishap in the beginning, but the manager graciously moved us to the dining room, where we got to like VIPS, as it was a fairly quiet Wednesday, and there was no one else in the room. The deals were AMAZING- $36 for unlimited small plates, and $14 for unlimited drinks for 2 hours, plus we got a choice a free small plate or drink, just for checking into Yelp. Our server, Joswe I believe-was super great! WE definitely over stayed past closing, but he was super nice about it. I would definitely recommend trying the Alemaide cocktail, and the crap cake.
I have been there several times for meals. But on 3/10/19 was not pleasing at all. I was not pleased with the brunch portion or the taste of the food. Not what I use to get from this restaurant. Must have been a bad day for the cook. I raved about this restaurant to the first times that had accompanying me on that day. Big fail. Omg. They were not happy with the food. Won’t be coming back. Dag!
The food was good, but since we did not do the bottomless brunch, our mimosas were wildly inconsistent (by ratio of champagne to orange juice and by how much a glass was filled). The music was also too loud.
Celebrating a girlfriends birthday. Excellent service and the food was amazing. Highly recommend for any occasion. We were there for the Sunday brunch. Loved the Bloody Marys.
Cute place but the food looked a lot better than it tasted.
Food was inedible. Drinks were good. Will not return or recommend.
To start with, the menu was a little confusing and as our waiter was new, he wasn't of much help in explaining it. They seem to want you to order the unlimited small plates, good thing we didn't go that route as our waiter was not very attentive and in two hours we would not have had a chance to order much. My daughter ordered the spaghetti, I didn't expect much of it as it is not an Italian restaurant. Needless to say, it was not good. I ordered the Veggie Pie, the only thing you could really taste was the little bit of red pepper flakes in it. It had absolutely no flavor. It looked really good, but no taste. Our dinner was a flop. The waiter did ask how everything was, I told him it was not very good and he had nothing to say other than, Oh. Next we ordered dessert because we were not full from dinner. We ordered the Lamington, a lemon sponge cake with berries and coconut flakes. It looked so good. What a disappointment! There was no lemon flavor AT ALL. It was like a bland cake with some berries. A very disappointing dinner! I am not sure why they called it a lemon sponge cake when there is no lemon flavor at all. Maybe their regular chef was off the night we went. We went on a Saturday evening. It was not very crowded. I guess we should have taken the hint!
Overall a great spot for brunch, except the music was a little loud. Very fun atmosphere overall though
Expected more, but food was mediocre at best. Under seasoned , bland, boring. Service was good and attentive but it didn’t save the night. Won’t be going back
The reason the Service was only 3 stars is because one waiter took our coffee orders, then we never saw him until our guest went to the hostess and asked to be served (after sitting for 15 minutes waiting.) There was apparently a mix-up on who was serving our table. Having been in the restaurant business, it is imperative that the other waiters/waitresses keep an eye on other tables for potential problems. After we sat for another 5-7 minutes, we had a really good waiter who apologized about the mix-up and stayed on top of our needs. For an issue like this, a manager SHOULD have come to our table to apologize, for good customer relations. The restaurant was very busy, and the wait staff looked stressed. As I mentioned, the waiter was very nice and did his job well, but it looks that there should be better communication between staff. The food was absolutely wonderful! Was very hot when i came out, came out together and amazing flavors! I had the BEST MIMOSA EVER! It was the best mimosa I have ever had in ANY restaurant. We ALL LOVED our food. Mostly a great experience. I noticed the other customers were extremely relaxed, OZ provides a great atmosphere.
Food was delicious but half of it was never brought out. Brunch is very disorganized but live music was nice, and server was very sweet. They just do not have a good system.
Great food! Our waitress was good about asking us what our next round was as we were finishing the current round of food (bottomless brunch). There was a musician playing guitar and singing in the restaurant ... he really added a cool vibe
After almost an hour, our waiter told us that our food had been given to a different table and ours had to be remade. Multiple plates were forgotten and took a very long time to come out. When they did come out, many of the plates were cold/flavorless/over-fried. I had to put an order in 3 separate times for one plate because it was forgotten/sent to a different table. The only positive part was the mimosas. Cranberry, pineapple, and orange juice were all provided along with the bottles of champagne, and we were able to mix our drinks. I will not return to Oz, nor recommend to a friend due to the poor service and low quality food.
Food was innovated and tasty. Service was very friendly. I would definitely recommend
Good for the experience and ambiance, but the food isn’t good at all.
Their wait staff is subpar and needs more structure and organization between waiters and runners
The service was very poor, which is not usually the case at Oz. Our server did not bring us drinks until we asked a second time. We never received some dishes we ordered. I went to the bar myself to refill our water bottle because we had asked for water several times and never received it. Food was good as always!
Both the food and the service were mediocre. We came because we wanted to try the kangaroo meat which they are known for, but they were out. Besides that, the ambiance was fine.
Don't really know how to write this review since I never actually got seated. So the reservation was for 8pm. My girlfriend and I showed up at about 8:05pm and the restaurant had not even seated the 7:30 reservations yet. At the same time there were two events going on. The two events looked like some dating event and painting. I'm not sure who made that call, but it is pretty poor management to book two events in your restaurant when your overbooked on Valentines day. Needless to say we left and found another place to eat...wont ever be coming back or recommending this place.
We went here for Valentine’s Day because it was the only restaurant in Arlington with reservation slots available. We had a 7:30 reservation time and were told we had to wait. We ended up waiting an hour before we were seated. What is the point of making a reservation if they don’t even hold a table for you?!? Anyway, once we were finally seated it took about 30 minutes for our first round of food to come out. We ordered round 2 and while waiting for round 2, we ordered a 3rd round. Our round 2 never came out. We had round 3 and gave up on waiting. The food was decent, however, the lamb was so over cooked it couldn’t be cut. We will never be coming back and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I brought my family here on Valentine’s Day, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well they handled the Valentines rush with small plates. The food was on time and very fresh.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Oz. The food is delicious, very creative and the portions are generous. We ordered the truffle mac and cheese, hush puppies and split the lamb pie, at the recommendation of our waiter (it was a great choice!). I've already recommended Oz to friends and plan to return again soon!
I was excited to try this restaurant because of its origins in Australia. I was very surprised that the menu had very little Australian food featured and what they had I would never eat (e.g., ..roo). I didn't really like my meal, chicken parm., but my friends seemed to enjoy their meals a lot. I am glad. I guess I am used to the more Americanized Australian spot, Outback. Not sure what I was expecting, but I didn't find it at Oz. The staff is very friendly though. :)
Service was awful. We had a group of 4 and all decided to go the bottomless brunch. The service on getting drinks was great, but we got two plates of food in an hour and 45 minutes. I guess this is how they make their money since you can only order one plate at a time. The plates were small and just came out extremely slow. It was very disappointing. I had three small plates total and was over trying to get food, so I just drank the mimosas. The food itself wasn’t that great. I had the avocado toast, which was pretty good, but not sure how you could mess that up. My second plate was the chicken and doughnut. The chicken tasted bland and the doughnut was hard. My third plate was the eggs Benedict which was probably my favorite dish. My boyfriend ordered the beignets and they came as 9 small square dough pieces. They were dry and hard. Just disappointing. We will not be returning.
Unfortunately, Brunch is not what you would expect from Oz. Happy hour is a better option here. The breakfast food was already prepared before the shift starts. The eggs are liquid eggs instead of fresh cracked eggs. A DJ was spinning at 1:00 in the afternoon (why?). If you order ala carte, be prepared for the main course to be potatoes instead of protein.
The food comes out quick because it is already prepared. Based on my experience with dinner, happy hours and related, I was very surprised Brunch was this bad.
Loved this little spot! Was not crowded at all and the service was so good. We dined for brunch on a Saturday and enjoyed our time. The food is very reasonably priced and though we didn’t do the bottomless option— it was very tempting!!
The food was just okay. I expected more for the price.
Lunch menu was wonderful and variety of menu as well. I would recommend it to others
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed eating at Oz. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and we enjoyed the pancakes, avocado toast, beetroot, etc. that we had!
