We haven't been to Oystercatchers in years. I was so happy to spend our birthdays celebrating and having brunch with them. The service was great, food was wonderful and the mimosas or served table side which was nice so that we didn't have to wait for bar service.
The best brunch in town!! Definitely coming back!
We would like to thank everyone at Oystercatchers for making our anniversary Sunday brunch a delight. From the valet to the entire staff everyone was a pleasure on a very busy afternoon.
Fantastic seafood and scenery! Obsessed with the smoked alderwood salt on the butter and crusty bread. The brulee with bacon popcorn, where have you been my whole life? Both preparations of the Grouper were delightful. Whole snapper was flaky and crispy and perfectly seasoned. We all enjoyed our martinis. Great wine selection.
The service was great and the food excellent. There was a little confusion about our reservation, but we were seated quickly. The only complaint was that it was incredibly noisy.
Best seafood in Tampa! We have been multiple times and the food has always been great, steaks or seafood. Nice outside atmosphere on the deck.
Such an amazing place. The food was delicious and service was spectacular! Perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy the sun setting on the bay. Definitely one of my favorite places in Tampa!!
Lack of servers, so the service was extremely slow, on a Friday afternoon Food was nothing special for the price.
Great food and views!!
Great view and delicious food. My husband had the fried red snapper and the lobster mac & cheese. I got the mahi mahi. Excellent meal
Excellent place to relax and dine. The location is great and the bread is wonderful
Best service in Tampa! Great view, hotel, and people.
I took a friend visiting Tampa for the first time to this iconic restaurant with the beautiful bay view. The sun was going down providing lovely ambiance. With an entire wall of windows facing the west most all tables in the restaurant allow you to appreciate the beautiful sunset. I enjoyed a smoked Manhattan with our delicious appetizer of fried calamari. Both my friend and I ordered the special, scallops with Boursin mashed potatoes, which was perfection. The portion was just the right size too. I love this place for a casual but special night out. It is also a great place for lunch.
Food was very good- Calamari always so- My wedge salad was quite small compared to the Ceasar - Special scallop entree looked great- companion had it - and blackened grouper excellent as usual. Service was good although the server- Don?- spent alot of time chatting with a couple at a nearby table and had to get this attention several times-
Great view, good service, food was outstanding, loud, noise level was high.
We had a great time, the bartender Johana was great and MICHAEL our waiter was terrific also. All the meals where great as was the desert.
The food is exquisite, it's an american restaurant so it is loud but the ambiance is nice with a view on the water and sunset. The server was a 5 star...the hostess however has no warmth and does not make contact with the clients. (detached and too business) You would expect much more of a place like this.
We always come here and it is always an excellent experience
The Sunday Brunch was amazing! Choices for all pallets to enjoy. Diane is a prompt, polite server. We will be back.
Fantastic service and amazing view of the sunset. Food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back
This was my 4th or 5th visit to Oystercatchers and the first when I was actually disappointed in my meal. Three of the four of us at the table ordered grouper. One came out done almost correctly. My fish and my father's were both overcooked to the point of being dry. I normally would just eat it but at $34 per plate, we both sent it back. Our waitress was wonderful and very understanding. When our second plates came back out, they were both again, overcooked. They were not as dry as the first time but certainly not to the standards you would expect from a quality seafood restaurant like Oystercatchers. We just kept these as they had already told us they would comp the two meals so I didn't feel right asking to have it cooked a third time (not to mention being pretty hungry by then). Again, our waitress was wonderful in managing the situation and did explain that they had a new line chef and she would pass on our feedback about both the first and second attempts at the meals. I would certainly go back again as I believe this was not the norm. However, I am surprised that a restaurant of the quality of Oystercatchers would hire a line chef who couldn't prepare a fish that they recommend to customers to the quality it should be prepared. I do hope this changes before a future visit.
Everything about our experience was top notch! From the complimentary valet parking to the impeccable service and food!
Great dining experience. Everythi g outstanding. It was a beautiful setting to celebrate our anniversary.
Looking for a salad for lunch and was disappointed. The salads were small and not much for lunch.
The service was also very slow with many excuses why it took a long time to be server. (>45 min)
Everything was excellent.
Oystercatchers was a dissapointment. We knew it was rated as a good sunset view place and this was our main objective. Fair for that. We get a Wedge salad everywhere we go. This was average at best, as was everything we ordered. They definitely need to improve on the quality of food.
This was a gift dinner to us for our anniversary and we loved it! The seared espresso diver scallops were amazing. The calamari "fries" with spicy ketchup was THE best version of calamari appetizer I've ever had. The lobster/shrimp bisque was delicious and the pistachios were a texture surprise that I actually enjoyed. The best part was that even though it is a more upscale menu, the dress is casual and we were able to take our 3 year old. We had a great time. Matt and Brian were wonderful servers and we will definitely be back.
Great views of Tampa Bay.
I have been to Oystercatchers several times before, and I wanted to take my wife out for a nice lunch. There are many places in Tampa for a nice lunch, but I selected Oystercatchers because of the setting. As expected, the gardens and view of the bay were beautiful.
Service was good. I didn't expect the resturaunt to be as loud as it was. But overall I enjoyed my experience.
My wife’s birthday
Wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary!
We come for the brunch at least 4-5 times per year. The raw bar and the unlimited mimosas and bloody mary's are amazing! Mike was our server this time and he was by far the best one we've had.
Oystercatchers has a terrific position overlooking Tampa Bay. It is a bit difficult to get there from Tampa due to one-way roads, and drivers must look carefully for the Bayfront exit off Hwy 60 west. The restaurant driveup is impressive due to the architecture and lighting, but it was annoying that valet parking appeared required as opposed to optional, given all the nearby parking. The valets were professional and courteous, as was the hostess. Despite a reservation, we had to wait a half hour for our table, which was not too bad, because the lounge was comfortable. The music featuring keyboard renditions of modern hits was disturbingly loud for the lounge area and seemed a bit too "hotel lounge" in the restaurant, but easy to ignore when seated at a distance. Our table was excellently positioned by a window, but reflections from the interior lights and a lack of outdoor grounds lights prevented seeing anything, including the Bay. The waiter was highly competent, and improved a very good meal into a high-class dining experience, and the wine and the dinner (I had snapper) were excellent. The optional vegetable offerings were a bit contrived and a few more basic options like sweet potato or baked potato would have been nice. The key lime pie was good, but like most , was too sweet instead of tart and needed a key lime slice or two.
Service was wonderful. Good was very good.
The only down side was that it was raining and we didn’t get to experience the sunset. But will visit again soon!
Food, service, atmosphere all outstanding. Place is unbelievable. Been there about 5 times and it never ceases to amaze me.
Great ambiance, the menu had a nice selection of seafood. I had the local snapper which was phenomenal. Only negative would be that there is not much of a selection for people that do not eat fish.
This is my third visit to Oystercatchers, and as usual, it was memorable. The only thing I did not appreciate was the rather unfriendly hostess. She was not very welcoming. No smiles or hospitality. That was a bit disappointing, especially since she was the first face to greet us. On the other hand, bartender Jasmine was sweet and made me feel comfortable as I waited for the rest of my party. And at dinner, our waiter Max truly made up for the hostess. He was patient and most accommodating. He also went out of his way to help my vegan daughter with her order. I really appreciated that!
Food was outstanding recommend anyone going there for dinner and has a very nice atmosphere. My wife and I was there celebrated our anniversary they setup with a table overlooking the bay and seeing the sunset was very nice my wife enjoyed it.
