Oystercatchers Ratings and Reviews
Cindy was our waitress we just felt rushed a bit and she said she would pick our appetizers and we got full table of appetizers just felt that on high end restaurant she would know the timing expected a bit more and the seafood entree was not as explained on menu
My girlfriend and I went for Valentines Day, which was on Ash Wednesday, so it was very quiet. So, we were very lucky. All of the food was exquisite, from the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, the Ahi Poke, Oysters on the Half-Shell (of course), to the Local Gulf Shrimp and Black Grouper. The service was excellent as well. The valet parking was exceptional, too.
We were celebrating a "30 Years with the Company" anniversary. Last minute, as a surprise, two VIP's joined. The reservation was set for 12:15 but the addition of the two VIPs changed everything and we ended up arriving 45 minutes early, unannounced, and with an extra two in the party. Jennifer didn't bat an eye! She said "No problem!", we were seated immediately at a roomy table with a GORGEOUS view! Everyone in the party was very impressed. Our server was outstanding, the food was delicious, and as an added bonus the complimentary bread was raved about! Thank you for the seamless handling of our special celebration! We will be back!
Seafood grill and Grouper dinner was ok. Wedge salad was uneventful and not very fresh. We were both very disappointed with staff attire. Perhaps shorts is appropriate for lunch but we expected different for dinner. This was a special occasion for us and we chose this restaurant over several others. Really nothing to brag about. Not worth returning.
Seated by the window, we had a gorgeous view of the water & sunset made for a romantic night.
Service was great. Our waiter Max & Brian had a upbeat personality. My husband and I ordered ahi poke app which was good. For entrees, I ordered the espresso salt diver scallops with black rice and my husband got the run glazed grouper. Both dishes were presented beautifully on the plate. Mine was exceptionally delicious. The grouper was tasty too! We were too full for dessert.
It was our anniversary and Max brought out a surprise of a plate with happy anniversary etched in chocolate with 2 chocolate covered strawberries with whipped cream! What a nice unexpected gesture :))
Everything was excellent, I requested a nice quiet table for a business meeting and I'm very satisfied with the result, the person I had meeting with is a Director of a Shipping company from Japan and was very satisfied with my choosing.
He even told me that next time he is in town for business or pleasure that he will dine here again and also recommend to others.
We have eaten there several times in the past and twice in the last few months. Previously it was a great place to go for a date or special occasion. Lately I have been disappointed. We met some friends for dinner and were having a drink at the bar. The female bartender not so politely asked us to close the bar tab and get seated for dinner. I had ordered a very dry martini up with olives on the side. It came with the olives in the drink and blue cheese stuffed olives, which I did not order. The menu has a large selection of seafood and some steaks and chicken. I had the sea scallops which were done to my liking, not overdone: but the sauce had very little taste. It came with rice, which tasted much like the rice you can get out of a box, and green beans that were hardly fresh. Very disappointing. The wine list had good variety and cost range. Our server was polite, efficient and non-obtrusive. We had plenty of time to talk after the meal and did not feel rushed to leave. If you get a seat by the windows the views of the Bay are very nice. Price for drink and food are higher than I expected for the quality. I will be sure to check recent reviews before going back there for dinner.
From start to finish it was a great experience. The valets that greet you are great, the hostesses were pleasant. We were seated right on time for out reservation. The selection from the buffet was great. Our server did a great job. We had a beautiful table right by the window. Wonderful mother son meal made even more special!
The restaurant has a great reputation. The location is good. The food is great but the wait help while Ernest in their efforts are a notch below a restaurant of this level. The waitress’ s seemed new and not a professional food server. The servers manner of speaking sounded like she was 13....Quick staccato manner ...odd.
Delightful food. Ate there one year at when visiting Tampa. Couldn't wait to go back this year. Grand Hyatt also great place to stay and they will golf cart you to the end of the nature preserve property to the restaurant. Excellent experience. Highly recommend it.
Our waiter Michael was incredible. The food was excellent as well as the ambiance. This was my birthday celebration and Michael made it awesome. Will be recommending to others as well as coming back. I look forward to coming back for the brunch. Was a little surprised that I did not get a complimentary desert for my birthday as just about most other restaurants do give you one.
Love the location and our lunch entrees were very good. Great service too! However, the $28 we paid for the small snapper entree was way too much. Also, we came in early when the restaurant was almost empty, but the host kept seating every other guest right next to us while the rest of the restaurant was vacant; that was a bit annoying and quickly became way too loud.
