Amazing date spot. Incredible service! Will definitely be returning.
We liked it so much we had dinner here twice! Walking distance from hotel
We had dinner there of the evening before last and it was terrific. It was so good that we had lunch there today and may have our last meal there tonight!
This was a repeat visit for us and we continue to enjoy the scenery and the food. And as always the wait staff (Charles and Taylor for this meal) are spot on. Options from steak to seafood round out the menu. We'll be back when in the area again.
We had a beautiful view of the sunset as we ate dinner. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Service was wonderful.
Food is always amazing! Especially the banana foster. Was taking my significant other for the first time and the staff made sure we had a really nice few of the bay seeing that she was from another state. The milk chocolate almond toffee, OMG, so good!
Buffet was fabulous and the Key lime pie was quite possible the best I've had.
I brought a large group back to Oystercatchers, and I was not disappointed! Staff was nice and extremely accommodating. Food was solid. Ambience is great.
Blackened grouper was like rubber likely meaning it was frozen and not fresh; food took an extraordinary length of time to arrive; some of the entrees were cold; steak was over seasoned with heavy salt; lobster Mac and Cheese needed more if not some cheese; server was kind enough to bring a complimentary dessert.
Everything was great! Wonderful date night with my husband!
Our friends ordered the seafood tower, and it looked so goo that we got one too. It was awesome! The shrimp and crab bisque was excellent as well. The grouper and snapper were well prepared and very good. I especially liked the rice and asparagus that accompanied the fish. We were too full for dessert so I can’t comment on that. Our server was very good, there when needed but not obtrusive. My only criticism is that it’s very noisy and sometimes hard to converse, but the energetic vibe is kind of nice. Overall, an excellent evening!
Fantastic service! Accommodating, kind. Food was delicious
great food , service . atposhere , located on the grounds of the Tampa Grand Hyatt
We loved Oystecatchers! Emily was wonderful to get us a table outside. Zac was provided excellent service and offered up great suggestions for dinner. He recommended the gulf snapper and it did not disappoint. All service was fabulous. They were happy to accommodate any request! Wish we lived in Tampa. We would eat there often. Sunset was breathtaking!
This was one of the best meals I've had out in quite a while. Most of the waterfront restaurants in the area have pretty atrocious food - I guess they figure the view is the selling point. But this place has amazing food and a beautiful location. The sunset view is gorgeous. The little beach area is great for keeping kids or teens entertained. It's cool to see the airplanes taking off from TPA. And great service. Pricey - but totally worth it for a special night out.
Food and service was great.. the piano player was awesome but it was so loud in there .. couldn’t even hear each other !
The food is too expensive for the portion given, and the waiters are very inattentive
Food was excellent! Service was excellent!
Only complaint was music was way too loud. We had 5 people at a round table and could not carry a conversation.... amazing sunset
Met some out of town friends for lunch and everyone loved the food. Beautiful Blue Point oysters preceded the meal, and key lime pie was passed around for tastes of dessert. Wonderful setting and great service made it the perfect spot for this quick get-together with friends on their way from Sarasota to the airport. Big thumbs up!
We go here every year a few times and always love it. However, this time we were very disappointed. It was very busy and the service was understandably slow, but the food was not up to par. The raw oysters especially, as they were not opened well, small and shredded, all 2 dozen of them. Extremely disappointed at that. The main course, most of our large party got the mixed seafood grill, which is my choice usually, came cold and piled up on a plate on top of the veggies which were also cold. I remember when it was served on a wood plank and the presentation was much nicer. Hopefully this was just a bad night, but we will think twice before going back next time
Way too noisy extremely expensive food was horrible service was terrible absolutely waste of time money and energy we will never go there for dinner ever again
The noise level was too loud to carry on a normal conversation. The food quality tried to be high quality and upscale, but it fell short. Our strawberry salad arrived undressed and without the dressing even on the side. we had to ask for it. My tuna entree was fine but not great. My friend's scallops were good but the vegetable sides uninspiring. The creme brulee was interesting but nothing that I would recommend. The evening was overpriced for the overall dining experience. The only thing that was outstanding was the view of the sunset.
It was my husband birthday I did mention it when made reservation. The table wasn’t set up in any special way and the waiter did say happy birthday quickly but that was it. It would of been nice if there was some decoration on table and a free dessert for the birthday person
Enjoyed my meal. They key lime pie was to die for. My wine, lobster vas ever stuffed with crab meat.
Have enjoyed Oystercatchers many times in the past with great seafood and the view is pretty good as well. Service and everything excellent as usual but a bit disappointed in the food. Three different fish dishes were all very salty and had never experienced that before. We all had blackened which I have not traditionally done and hope that was the reason.
One of the best views outside the hotels on the beach. One minor complaint is that they have less of, or no, stone crabs, while other restaurants do, they need a new supplier.
The place would have been 5 star with me except for my main course (extremely salty) and the server not keeping track of our wine. My wife loved it except for the noise.
Very nice place with excellent food and service.
We had lunch at Oystercatchers for a friend's birthday and had a spectacular time! It had been years since most of us had been there and a couple of us had never been. Though significantly more expensive than where we usually gather for each other's birthdays, Oystercatchers did not disappoint and was worth the special treat. Everyone in the party said they will be back for dinner in the future.
Had a terrific meal with outstanding service. The ahi tuna appetizer and the calamari were outstanding. The shrimp main dish and the grouper were also terrific.
The Black Grouper was delicious. I had it blackened and had both dipping sauces which were equally tasty.
Great Experience!, great service.
View is fantastic
The only redeeming thing about lunch was the server. The food was poorly prepared. The hostess should quit her job if she is that miserable! There is nothing worse than pretentious attitude from someone in the service industry.
Very friendly bartender from RI who went out of her way to make me feel welcomed.
Wonderful upscale buffet. Amazing service. Diane made sure every plate was cleared off our table within a minute or less. The chef walked around with my daughter and showed her which food was gluten free. The view was fantastic as usual. The live acoustic music was a little loud, but they were very good. An enjoyable experience.
What was potentially a lovely Sunday Brunch was spoilt by the indifference of the staff, admittedly the only reservation I could get was around 2pm - late in other words and perhaps at the end of a busy period for the staff but I did not expect to be confronted with rudeness when asking about the lack of meat at the carvery, the lack of potatoes and vegetables and even when eyeballing and speaking with a server at the seafood station only to have her turn away and go chat to one of her colleagues.
Overall not the sort of experience I expect from an IHG premiere hotel. On this basis I would not be recommending this as a venue to family and friends - disappointed!
Oystercatchers was fabulous as always. Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly, service was excellent and our favorite calamari were delicious! Will return next time in Tampa!
Food was great. Dining staff was attentive. Reminded me of a cruise ship as all the wait staff wore the same color shirts. So in that regard the atmosphere felt a little stuffy. It is definitely not a trendy spot. I would consider going again at some point and would recommend to anyone who has never been. However, based on atmosphere alone, I probably will not return any time soon.
Beautiful place to catch a sunset
We selected Oystercatchers as it is listed as the best seafood in Tampa. Imagine our sunken spirits when our seafood tray had only 1 shrimp, and a few measely bites of other only decent cooked seafood. While the staff and scenary were a bit above average, the entree the star of the night, disappointment could not be overcome.
