The food and service was excellent. It was a perfect night out and we all enjoyed it
My crispy fried whole snapper was simply wonderful. Drinks were good and service was good considering our waiter seemed slammed by too many tables at once. I guess my only real disappointment having not been there for awhile was whose idea in corporate was it to take away the previous wonderful Key West sort of atmosphere of Oystercatchers and replace it with generic plain decor to make it look like any dining room of any typical contemporary hotel. I live in Florida myself, but I'm 99% sure that most travelers to Florida would far prefer a relaxed but atmospheric decor of a Florida seafood restaurant as opposed to what could be a meeting room in any hotel in the US. In my book this was definitely not a change for the better. While they're at it, why not take away the name Oystercatchers which now seems totally inappropriate and just call it "the dining room" or something generic to go with their decor?
Outstanding setting and view. Brunch was excellent with abundant refresh of Buffett line. Great seafood bar from oysters to shrimp. Sushi was good but limited. Salmon was fresh along with caviar and other fixings. Pasta bar and omelet stations were great. Entrees from covia, chicken, clams and mussels, to carving beef station excelled. Champagne or mimosas were endless. Desserts seemed to be enjoyed by others from banana fosters to ice cream and pies .
Our first time at Oystercatchers for Sunday Brunch. It is probably one of the best brunches in the Tampa area. Raw bar, caviar, waffle bar, omelet bar, pasta bar, bloody Mary bar, desserts, carved beef, sushi, and even healthy stuff like fruit. All you can drink Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Nice seating area outside. Huge selection and great service. Expensive for some at $55, but there was a Bentley and a Rolls Royce parked outside!
Wonderful meal, service was very good. However I faced the bar and found the bright lights and TVs distracting.
Some of the best food I have ever had! Having traveled the world and eaten at some great foodie haunts, I highly recommend the scallops with forbidden rice
We came here for a family dinner. I’ve been here multiples times before and have always had good food but the service is varied. This time the service was very good. The hostess was not the best. She didn’t know that we requested a quiet table and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes.
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant which I hadn't been to for many years having moved. It was even better than I remembered it with a deft hand at cooking fish and a nice wine list. I had the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. Afterwards we walked on the shore enjoying all the birds and the views.
Overall it was a positive experience, but I thought it was a bit pricey for what it is.
We were among the first seated for Friday service; table for two at a large picture window. As such, we had an excellent view of the Bay and sunset. Max, our waiter, perfectly gauged our pace, never pushing us. We followed his oyster recommendation and were quite pleased. The shrimp lobster bisque was the best I have ever tasted! We ordered whole snapper and grilled grouper; both entrees were prepared perfectly. Live piano player is a bonus. Will definitely be back!
