Wonderful dinner once again! The service was impeccable. The grouper (two out of the four of us) was wonderful. My son loved the seafood combination and 16 yr old daughter ate her entire chicken dish (she never finishes). What was really impressive is that I told her if she is ever gonna try seafood of any kind THIS IS THE PLACE to have it. So when our awesome apps of calamari and crabcakes came out, she tried it and LOVED both. So, I think I now have the beginnings of a seafood lover! The problem will be that everything outside of Oystercatchers will pale in comparison so looks like we'll be visiting more often! Ambiance - you just have to go see for yourself. Sitting outside for a sunset is a must. See ya soon!
My meal was VG. It was just to bad that the salad I had ( which was vg ) was placed on a warm plate , as opposed to a chilled plate

I really don't know if I would recommend Oystercatchers. My previous experience there (over 5 years ago) was excellent so this year we took friends as a Christmas Present. It was so loud we could not carry on a conversation at our table of 4. The food was good, but I would not say it was outstanding as it was in the past. I think I prefer Bonefish Grill now.

We’ve been there numerous times stopping before or after an airport run and always really liked it. The main downsides this visit were: it was cold in the dining area, our server was inconsistent checking on us (calling me sweetie and touching me didn’t offset) and the food was good but too spicy for my wife. We left taking our dessert to-go because of the slow kitchen and my freezing wife.
One could argue it was our fault for not asking for the heat to be turned up, for asking the server to check back with us and for not asking her how spicy our dishes were. But what makes a dining experience special is that it all just clicks. It didn’t this time. But we’re coming back next week for another try (and a departing visitor). Fingers crossed...
We read about the seafood and decide to try it out, it was the best seafood we’ve had in a long time. Lots of Florida fresh seafood cooked perfectly!
It was delightful.
The Pinot Noir, Burrata & lobster Mac & cheese couldn’t have been better.
I’ll be returning in February, for a business dinner.

There's a reason Oystercatchers continues to be a top Tampa restaurant. Can't beat the setting, outstanding food quality and innovative preparation and professional, but friendly wait staff. My husband and I agree that when we eat out, it should be an outstanding experience. Would rather come here than dine more often at average venues.
We went to oystercatchers for Sunday brunch. It was very expensive, $55 per person. That does include complimentary mimosas, and bloody Mary’s. However two of us didn’t drink, so they were paying for something we didn’t get.
I wanted a screwdriver with breakfast and they refused to make me one, even though vodka and orange juice are both complimentary in the other beverages. Poor choice by management. It would cost the same to make the customer happy as it did to make him unhappy. Why?
Also, on standard brunch buffet’s there is usually a carved roast beef or a carved turkey. There was no carving station here. For $55, I would expect a carving station.
They did have a pasta bar, which was nice. And caviar on the raw bar.
The food was tasty. The desserts were outstanding. However, there are better brunches for less money in Tampa Bay.
The entire experience was fantastic! This is a new favorite! We will definitely be back!

It was a wonderful night. It was a pleasure having dinner there. Because my intentions was going to Rusty Pelican it was mistakenly done for Oyster Catches which turned out to be a great choice.
My waiter was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Food & service were great!
Second visit in a year while traveling from out of town. Great olace to see sunset. Overhead lighting could be less intense, but understand servers have to see what they are doing :) The octopus appetizer is a must-have...5 star!
Unfortunately we had great hopes for the restaurant as we were staying at the Hyatt and we could walk, but it’s overpriced, no Ambiance-where are the white table cloths in a high end restaurant? Service was good, but place was sterile and disappointing. Sorry, wouldn’t go back.

Oystercatchers is a great restaurant with beautiful views of Tampa Bay. The array of brunch items is outstanding. I highly recommend this brunch.

Everything from the food, drinks, ambiance and service was very good for our party of 6. The only downside was the oysters were not up to par. They did not seem to be fresh and for $3/per oyster, the size was so small we thought they forgot to put the oyster on the shell. Wasn’t enough to even get a taste. Otherwise the rest of our experience was a positive one. We have been going to Oystercatchers for years so this was certainly not a deal breaker.

Oystercatchers Restaurant is an excellent one. The environment very nice , the service is excellent .
The sea food is fresh and you enjoy every bites. We have a calimari as appetizer and Grouper as main dish.

My wife and I had a wonderful time here. We got octopus, oysters, the seafood grill and a bottle of wine. Everything was fantastic.
The service was attentive and very courteous. They got us a window table with a nice view of the Tampa are coast at night.
Unforgettable night in a very beautiful place. Highly recommended.

Restaurant is set apart from main Hyatt hotel and has large windows providing good view of Old Tampa Bay and Rocky Point. Went there for birthday lunch and was able to get bayside table (#51). Great view but table was wobbly, but not due to uneven flooring (see pics with shims), and had a wood finish that was show its age. Server was polite and proficient, and ensured we were well cared for. A rather limited menu narrowed our choices but we quickly settled on char grilled oysters ($3.75 each, hefty price for Florida) as a starter, to be eaten with fresh made sour dough bread and smoked salt. We added a couple of their signature smoked bourbon cocktail and house wines. The grouper sandwich was very good; the crab quesadilla, not so much. I had the pepper linguine with shrimp that was plentiful but lacking any distinctive flavor. Shrimp and grits were tasty but the grits were more like a larger grained hominy that has a texture that puts me off a bit. The sea salt caramel creme brûlée that was offered in recognition of my daughter’s birthday was amazing. An expensive lunch that I’d have to think really hard about repeating.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday and had yet again great service and wonderful food! Thank you to the staff for continuing to help make special memories for us at one of our cherished dining spots.

I would recommend it with some reservations...
We were there New Year’s Day and they were out of several items, the house Cabernet and the Red Snapper entree. No apology, No tablecloths, very matter of fact server. My grouper entree was very good, but 2/5 entrees were a bit overcooked. Bread and butter were excellent. Ambience and sunset were lovely. I expected better service and more attention to the food for this level of restaurant.

I realize it was New Year's Eve, and the restaurant was booked solid for the evening. But we felt rushed and didn't have time to "enjoy" the meal at a slower pace
