The place is quite nice and we did enjoy it, but it was just ok. My clam chowder and my seafood roll were very good but the crab cakes and garlic shrimp are just ok. Our server was very nice and served us well but we had to ask multiple times to get the dirty dishes taken away from the table. I would have given service 3.5 instead of 3 but I can’t.
We love this place for oysters. Our family really enjoy coming here. The staff and server were really nice because we make reservations for 4 but had 5 people and they still set us. Happy hours is the best time to go.
GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE
They have changed a lot since my last visit. The portions seem smaller and everything was just ok, Used to be spectacular. The general management were very helpful and nice. The waitress was good, also. But the food needs to be ramped up.
Food and drinks were great, our table was a little close to the people next to us, but that was our only complaint. Kylie was our server & she was super friendly / attentive. Very good over all.
This is our second time coming to the restaurant and it seemed to be the exact opposite of a wonderful experience we had the first time. The place was not busy, but our waiter appeared to be in the weeds and took quite a bit of time to check up on us, to the point of me only having one drink, instead of the normal two or three. The oysters were decent, but they could have been shucked a bit better for many of us in our party had shell when we slurped.
Best seafood place I’ve been too in Chicago. Pricey if you don’t go at happy hour for a group. Went for my birthday dinner and it was great!
Okay, but not great. I found the portions modest, the choices limited, and the flavors bland. High marks for attentive, friendly service; comfortable atmosphere; reasonable prices. I might go back but wouldn't recommend it to a friend. Below my expectations for a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant.
The service was outstanding and I would definitely go back again just for that! The seafood linguine was delicious and the drinks are very yummy!
Favorite Place to eat. Fun. Best Coconut Cake ever!
Great spot for seafood - must try the aloha mussels! They were the hit of the night - definitely will be back for those. We sat at the bar and had great service. Tried the Nashville hot crab special and it did not disappoint. They had a nice, small list of drafts beers and the cocktails were on point. A favorite place of ours for a casual dinner.
Very good food-the oysters and coconut cake were delicious
The bartender was great! He was friendly and answered all of our questions and knew when to give us space and when to check in on us.
Food is great, service is fantastic.
Was able to enjoy happy hour pricing on first drink and appetizers, so that was great. Enjoyed the casual setting. Food was good.
Very New England, just needed steamers! Then it would be complete.
Don’t care for the recent menu changes.
Really not great value for a place as casual as this.
Far better seafood options in the city.
The food was excellent and the server was attentive but not overwhelming. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and plan to return.
At first we were disappointed to have to wait for our table for an additional 15-20 minutes past our reservation due to waiting for the group before us to leave. This was indeed very frustrating (especially when waiting with 2 children), however, we greatly appreciated a few appetizers being comped. This re-set the tone and we had an incredible meal with excellent service. The kid friendly touches were really special, as well. The entire meal was delicious, seafood incredibly fresh, and the birthday ice cream treat was also a lovely touch. We will definitely return! Thank you for an wonderful experience.
We love Oyster Bah…though I miss their fried calamari
Oysters were amazingly fresh and delicious. They give you a description of each kind so you can make an educated choice.
Good food, moderately priced. Cody was an experience and thoughtful waiter
Great experience! Our second time here, and this time we enjoyed the Happy Hour specials and sharing a variety of dishes. Especially impressed with the chowder and crab cake! Fried chicken sandwich also hits the spot.
Love this place! Went for happy hour and everything was great...well, minus the oysters but it was our first time trying oysters so that was to be expected. The mussels, particularly, were outstanding. Excellent service, too. Will be back.
My daughter and I had dinner there for the 1st time. We arrived at 6 for our 6:30 reservation. The hostess was very gracious and asked us if we would like to wait at the bar which we did. The bartender was very friendly and took our drink and appetizer order. Before we got anything the hostess came to seat is at our table. I sat at the table while my daughter settled the bar tab. The only person that came to the table was the busser. When my daughter came to the table we sat quite a long time before the server came and then left the menus. It seemed to take a long time before we even got our drinks let alone the appetizers. Neither one of us had ever had raw oysters before. I will do it again! The shrimp were excellent! It wasn't really busy and I saw our server just sort of walking back and forth but not attending her tables. Now, when she did take our order she was very sweet and answered all of our questions. My daughter got the 1lb of crab and I had the crab and chicken combo. The chicken was good and crispy but there was a funny after taste. During our dinner the server checked on us maybe one time. Now, I don't need a lot of attention but as a former server I feel a little more attention should be given to your guests. I was also surprised that I had to ask for salt! We will definitely come back not only for more oysters but to try other items on the menu. All in all we both left satisfied.
I thought the poster roll was a bit skimpy, but very tasty. I would have paid a bit more for more lobster. The service and ambiance was great. It felt a bit like Maine.
A great spot for informal dining, with a great selection of seafood and, of course, oysters. The food was great but the service was exceptional--we had our waitress, but several individuals brought us entrees, checked on us, and so on, all seamlessly. I noticed that managers walked through the restaurant multiple times, chatting with customers, and generally making sure things were going well. Our party enjoyed everything. Looking forward to going back.
Great casual place for good seafood, and much more reasonably priced than its' sister restaurant Shaw's Crab House. Our server was Jordan and she was outstanding -- very friendly and attentive. The menu was quite broad and all the food was delicious.
Food came out quick, service was great! Excellent happy hour specials & got a ton of food & two drinks for $60!
Always a treat - one of Mom's favorite places to eat in the city. Great space, different atmosphere on each level; be sure to visit all three. Decent drinks & good food!!
Everything was perfect, and I especially appreciative the manager, Jennifer, for helping me with our reservation.
Good food, Great service
Great food, it was surprisingly family friendly. I would recommend it for families with kids.
They have a good variety of dishes and prices. The oysters were fabulous. The space is very cozy.
Excellent oysters and food in general. Very good service on a busy Saturday night. Somewhat boisterous but not in an off putting way. Great place for a date or dinner with friends.
This place is over priced and with all the competition in the city they are sub par on pricing, food options, and service. the waitress was great but the check-in host and vendor valet was horrific. These are usually the first two impressions of any establishment and they are suffering. We were served burnt garlic toast and the waitress said the kitchen was busy leading to this oversight. No efforts were made to replace it or resolve the situation. We spent $228 for 3 people with 1 beer and no desserts. This is highway robbery.
Oyster Bah was packed with families and friends celebrating graduations and birthdays, but our two-top still felt cozy and intimate. The excellent hospitality from the bartenders/servers/etc... and the quick food service made for a perfect date night!
Meh. We have been to Oyster Bah several times as we generally like LettuceEats restaurants but it’s never quite satisfying. It’s just food. Nothing special. Nothing inspiring. It’s like they want to be a seafood place but just didn’t get there. Menu is updated but confusing and limited. This last time the service was terrible. The manager did the right thing and comped the screwed up dish but it still doesn’t change the fact that the food isn’t anything special. We just want it to be better than it is. Meh.
