Love this place, if you like seafood this is one of my favorites.
We frequent Lettuce Entertain You restaurants - they are always well run, the music is fun and the daily happy hour special at this restaurant is great. Food is consistently good and we were surprised that restaurant week was extended so we got a good deal for the meal.
Delightful brunch, great drinks, friendly and attentive service. I love this place! Whether for happy hour, dinner, or a fun brunch outing, it’s always a great experience!!
It was my birthday meal before the auto show and we wanted something different. The food was outstanding. U believably fresh and the service was impeccable.
Very fun night- Josè and Jordan kept us laughing as we enjoyed all of our food-Old Bay shrimp, calamari, seafood Louis and ahi tuna tacos.
We love coming to Oyster Bah
The food was delicious 😋. We had a wonderful waiter.
Server was excellent and food matched. Great happy hour deals, and the restaurant week food was wonderful. Highly recommend the chilled mussels and the ahi tuna tacos
Not that great. Oysters good tho
We went for restaurant week and had an excellent experience. Will definitely be going back for the seafood brunch!
We came for the Sunday brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas. The buffet was good but not great. We would have preferred a bit more variety. There was the option to purchase additional meals at a discounted rate but the buffet was really just a buffet of appetizers. We had to ask our waiter to refill our “bottomless mimosas” almost every single time. The mimosas were very heavy on orange juice. We did ask our server for less juice, which he accommodated once but then they went right back to being primarily OJ.
Loved everything, except the fish and chips was a little skimpy with the fish. Only 3 small pieces.
Loved it! Went for restuant week but ended up ordering off the main menu. Great food, great vibe.
I decided to come in and try the place for Restaurant Week. The food tasted great! I got there in time for happy hour; I had some oysters that tasted really good, the food presentation was nice. I also got the sweet corn and jalapeño hush puppies that were warm and fluffy - I had a nice base with those 2 appetizers. That had gotten washed down with their ouster beer, a specially brewed wheat ale that went down smoothly. For the main course I went with the fish n chips, but substituted in the boardwalk fries instead. The fish tasted absolutely fantastic but I felt that the portions/sizes of the fish weren’t very justifiable, a bit smaller than anticipated. Their homemade coleslaw was made right, wish I had more! The only knock I could give this place is that I made a reservation for 330 which I arrived for but had to wait an additional 20min anyway...
went for restaurant week. had the oysters, mussels, and shrimp appetizer which was good. The seafood salad was okay. not enough seafood not enough Louis dressing. Had to ask for additional dressing even though I asked when ordered. A pleasant surprise was getting a gift certificate for the amount I spent.
I have been to Oyster Bah many many times and on this night, they were off. The food was excellent, our server was very good, but the bartender kind of killed our night.
Let’s get something straight here...you are a bartender, don’t give me this “mixologist” crap. When someone says “I would really like this combination of” ingredients, shut up and do it. You don’t have to drink it, and if they don’t like the combination they’ve requested it’s not your fault.
My friend noticed a cocktail on the menu that sounded appealing to her, however, it was made with tequila which she does not tolerate well. So she asked for the same combination of ingredients with vodka instead. The bartender refused. What a complete moron. That is akin to a chef refusing to omit a sauce for someone who has food allergies or intolerances. If someone wants a big glass of tequila with half a lemon in it, why do you care? You don’t have to drink it! And you work for a LEYE restaurant, not Alinea.
I think that there were two things that upset us the most about this incident. First, was how hard the pushback was. It was absolutely ridiculous, totally unacceptable really. And second, he put our poor server in the middle of this discussion instead of having the balls to come talk to us directly.
I will probably go back again for the food, which has always been very good and reliable, but I will be damned if I EVER order anything from the bar that isn’t just a straight glass of wine.
Love this place! We sit at the bar. Food is really good
We came for the restaurant week special menu and we chose the chilled seafood appetizer and the seafood salad, They were both excellent. The service was great as usual. We love this place and come frequently for the happy hour specials.
We dined her over restaurant week and the whole experience was great. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and all the food was delicious. Although it has casual vibes, things can sneakily get a bit expensive. Still, I enjoy restaurants that can be casual without jeopardizing food or service.
Great service! But over hyped experience! I was highly recommended by close friends to visit this location and I was not impressed by the menu or food choices. The side dishes seemed over priced.
We dined here for brunch. Perks: great cocktails and good wine pairings, GIGANTIC entrees, an assortment of food at the buffet, and as many oysters as you can fit on your plate. Great service, too. My only complaint is that the East Coast oysters were very very salty, but no one can blame the chef for that. Overall, really fun sea shandy atmosphere with good food.
The cape cod feeling that this wonderful restaurant creates is a casual space for amazing food. The service is always stellar and quite knowledgeable. Def one of my favorite places in Chicago.
Great food and server recommendations!!
Delicious food. Mussels were fantastic. Service was great until the end. We ordered desert and our waiter disappeared for half an hour. Assume something unusual happened.
We really enjoyed the oysters. They were fresh and delicious. Not an enumerous amount of food offerings like some other brunch places but that is not necessary when you have a few solid choices! And Service was excellent to boot!
We ordered the crab claws app and shrimp bang bang which was quite good. For our main dish I had the seafood roll and my friend had the big order of crab claws. Mine was yummy and hers was inedible. How could the crab app be perfect and delicious and the main dish not cooked right or well? she couldn’t eat it and I felt bad. We also ordered a 1/2 order of fried, which he said was ok to do, and we received a hug full order. Then he came to ask us about desert orders before we received our main dishes. Just annoyed and confused how food and service can be so out of sync.
Our server was a bit strange, but the food was good
we had a great meal, and got some great suggestions on the oyster selections. Our server was wonderful!
The food was outstanding the atmosphere was great the cocktails were great. We were celebrating my birthday , our waiter was awesome.
The food is really good, nice fish , big diversity of oysters. Everything tastes yum
Great cold seafood brunch! Get a lot of bang for your buck between the oysters and shrimp and other seafood offerings. Hard to say if shrimp were a touch over cooked or if it’s because we’re in the Midwest and it’s the middle of winter but I’d give them a 6/10. Everything else was 10/10. It was quiet since I was there around 10:30am but the restaurant can get loud. Next time I’d like to try one and of the hot item add-on items because they all looked amazing!
The food is great but the service isn't. On both visits to Oyster Bah we had non-existent service and odd service. No server for 10-15 minutes until we asked, appetizers came out with entrees, and no server checked on us during the meal about drink refills, etc. I wish they'd get their act together since I love the food. The Hush puppies and fish and chips were great.
Great sea food!!! The king crab and mussels were amazing!!! Highly recommend it!!!
We were seated at high-top table by window; perfect laidback setting for early dinner but “sides” seem to be an after-thought, and not well executed.
The upstairs area seems like “b squad” that’s where they stick all the kids and the wait staff seemed a little inexperienced. I recommend sitting downstairs where the action is.
Love this place so much. Great for bringing the kiddos as well as having a solo night out with the girls. Delicious food and attentive staff!
Love the place. Great food and service always and it’s always delicious and fresh. Had the Brussels sprout salad and salmon tonight.
Great seafood buffet brunch! All of the food was nicely presented and was all very delicious. My waiter, Ryan, was very friendly and attentive. The hostess and other employees were very friendly. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. It was an excellent experience
We went at the last minute for dinner but not to have seafood. I had the bbq ribs and my wife had the hamburger. Both were very good. Because it was last minute we sat at a high-top table which turned out to be just fine. Overall very good.
Excellent oysters, drinks, and menu options. Perfect spot for a date.
