Oyster Club Ratings and Reviews
Remarkable! Started with the Mescal beet juice drink. I live it! The mussels with coconut milk and lemongrass were incredible. I loved my sea bass. Perfect. The greens were pretty special. My friend had the monk fish. He loved it. We had the dessert. The bread cake pudding with toffee bits. It was great. I love the winter greenery hung from the wall art. Lovely touch. I’m a huge fan if your place now.
Cocktails, wine, entrees (sea bass dish and papardelle w/bolonaise dish) were excellent.
New England chowder needs work - consistency was thin and it tasted like warm milk with half cooked potatoes. No clams or chowder flavor! I told the server that it was not hot enough for my liking (quite lukewarm) and that the flavor was pretty light and thin, unfortunately she couldn’t be bothered to care.
Chowder and server dissapointment notwithstanding, this is a great farm/sea to table restaurant.
I love visiting the Oyster Club on my travels through Connecticut. It is a classy, yet comfortable, experience & the entire dining room feels warm and welcoming. The menu changes constantly & reflects the fresh produce available & the season you’re in.
I enjoyed oysters, as per usual, and the cornbread that is served is divine. For a main I chose the monkfish & it was delightful. Served with a bean purée & spinach leaves, it was hearty & clean. I treated myself to the sticky toffee pudding, which invoked memories of childhood.
The service is always exceptional & everyone is friendly. Currently, the owner is matching donations that patrons make by rounding up their checks - those donations go towards local homeless shelters. A great way to help out during the holiday season.
The Oyster Club never disappoints. This was the first time we have had brunch here and it was terrific. The ingredients are fresh, the cuisine innovative and the price is very reasonable. The poached eggs were perfect, tasted great and were paired with delicious home made corn bread.
Well worth the one and a half hour drive.
This was my second dinner at Oyster Club and it did not disappoint. I like the fresh farm/ sea to table approach. The entrees were creative and prepared well. I’ve been here for a romantic dinner and this time to celebrate a birthday with a somewhat larger group. The breads were great as well and desserts were delicious! Service a tad slow but we were not in a hurry.
My wife's most favorite restaurant. I must admit I also enjoy the creative seasonal artisian menu which usually has a surprise or two. A little pricey but for us it is worth all of it, the food, drinks, service, ambiance (very relaxed atmosphere), the whole bit. The local farm to table adds that much more. We are foodies and this is our restaurant of choice in this area, and we have tried most. We may not frequent as often as we would like only because we tend to always venture out to try every new startup that comes along. However we do make an effort to hit it at least once a season looking forward to a new creation. Simple terms, great place, never disappointed.
I have never been disappointed in the restaurant or Tree House and this was no exception. The steak I had might have been the best I've ever eaten, and the raw scallop appetizer was amazing. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. Can't say enough good things.
Server was perfect, very attentive and wasn’t trying to rush us out. Our waters stayed full and the food came out perfectly.
We were looking to just relax and catch up w some friends and we were able to do that without someone breathing down our throat.
Of course as always, the oysters were perfect! Always fresh, clean and cleanly shucked. Nothing’s worse than getting a mouth full of shell.
This is definitely a top choice for my husband and I when we’re in town, and can get a table.
Lovely experience, as always. Our friends were delayed and half hour late. I love that Oyster Club seats you anyway, let’s you get comfortable and relax with a drink. Oysters perfectly served. All food delicious, they have grass fed beef! Our server, tall nice looking young man stufying to become a sommelier, was excellent. Right on with timing but never intrusive. We’ll go back!
Perfect tuna: Seared rare, bed of arugula, anointed with a tasty sauce. Perfect salad: Fresh greens, plump tomatoes, colorful peppers, anointed with tasty dressing. Perfect desert: Feathery light crust surrounding sweet pears, anointed with luscious sweet cream. Perfect service. Perfect dining experience!
An awesome experience with delicious food and the very best server Beau who put up with our shenanigans and was very efficient and friendly. Thanks for the well presented birthday dish. Well done.
One thing, i ordered the restaurant week menu with some oysters to start. However that then made everything I ordered a la carte which i wasn't told about until the end. Weird, as I have been dealing with restaurant week for 20 years in every city and this was a first.
Never disappoints- from the perfect French Martini, incredible bread-great service.Tagliatelle with beef ragu as good as Italy. The fluke was just a touch bland but fresh & good nonetheless. The best tasting menu in town for sure. We have also gone when its not restaurant week and its always great.
We love this restaurant. The food is wonderful and the service is always friendly. Too bad we live so far away or we would be here more often. Thanks again for everything.
PS. There is one thing I would like to say, for a restaurant with such a fresh upscale menu the décor is almost like a old cabin feel.
