Oyster Club Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was outstanding, from every perspective. Everything was quiet, understated, elegant, subtlely creative, and absolutely perfect. The waitress made excellent, intelligent menu suggestions which we happily followed. If you are a foodie looking for a sophisticated, adult dining experience, you will find it here.
We chose the restaurant for dinner before a show at Foxwoods. It exceeded our expectations in every way, the food and service were top notch and the place was understated but elegant. I would highly recommend it to anybody in the area or going to the area on vacation
A hidden pearl in the shoreline. The menu changes daily with the seasons. It is hard to decide between the casual views of their Treehouse or the less casual dining room. Both spaces offer delicious but different menus.
A great place for a date or a delicious dinner.
We knew we wanted the Oyster Club to celebrate our son's 32nd birthday, two days before his Mystic wedding, so we made our reservation a month in advance. And it was worth the wait! The delicious food, cozy ambiance and birthday candle with dessert exceeded our expectations for our special occasion!
Went there for high expectations for a great seafood dinner.
Bread, salad, scallop and oyster appetizers were terrific.
3 of the 4 us order the fluke dinner. All were very disappointed.
Fluke was extremely dry and overcooked. We ask the waitress for melted butter which helped the situation.
Waitress did bring a complimentary very small dessert for the 4 of us to share.
We normally don't dig our spoons into the same dessert.
Feeling our displeasure, they tactfully took the cost of one of our two bottles of wine from our bill.
All this said, if I am ever in the area I would try this restaurant again, since I feel either the main chef must have been off that night (Mon. night), or something was going wrong in the kitchen. In other words the way the fish was prepared was not the way they intended the fish to be prepared.
My wife and I went there recently to celebrate our anniversary and it was perfect! The waitress that waited on us was courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The food was beyond outstanding. It was fresh and delicious. On top of it all, they gave us dessert on the house as an anniversary gift! One of our top 5 restaurant experiences. We will definitely be back and are recommending it to all our friends and famliy.
Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding! This was an unexpected treat. From the service to the vodka mule, to the oysters, dinner then decadent dessert. This place is spot on! It was mine and my husbands first time in mystic, and as newlyweds we felt the romance throughout the town and our meal at Oyster Club set the tone for a wonderful weekend. I am still savoring our meal. My husband had the steak and I had the fish, they also prepared a pasta dish not on the menu and it was all just Delightful! I hardly leave reviews but this place was amazing and deserves it. We continued the evening at their upstairs lounge/bar area which was quite lovely!
Thank you Oyster Club!
The food especially seafood is consistently good and creative at the Oyster Club. The dishes are seasoned with zest and sauces are excellent. There is a great choice of oysters and good wine selections. We have enjoyed several wonderful meals there recently and will go back soon. The service is always very attentive and servers go out of their way to accommodate dietary needs and requests.
For our first wedding anniversary, my husband and I traveled to Mystic, CT, and decided what better way to celebrate than with dinner at the Oyster Club! We loved the ambiance inside - the pictures on Yelp do not do it justice. Our server was lovely and attentive, and made sure that we had a fantastic night.
When we ordered drinks, the bartender crafted a delicious non-alcohol cocktail for me that was off the menu, complete with mint leaves. Yum! We had a DELICIOUS thai-inspired mussels dish with coconut milk that was mouthwatering. Our entrees did not cease to impress either - my sea bass dish tasted fresh, inspired, flavorful, and I'd like to think on the healthy side!
We couldn't end the night without dessert, of course, so we delighted in a maple brown butter cake that was to die for. The server surprised us at the end by announcing that the dessert was on the house, as it was our anniversary! This special touch totally sealed the deal on one of our most enjoyable nights out in a long time. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Mystic!
My favorite restaurant since it opened. I've been there with a group for my birthday and there with a friend or 2, 8-10 visits in all. Food and service have been outstanding every time. A little pricey, but worth it to me, for outstanding food. I'd rather pay more for WOW than less for OKAY. Unfortunately a little noisy, still able to carry on conversation though. Save room for dessert. (I want to adopt the pastry chef.)
We did not know what to expect when we booked this restaurant on line. After we ate there, we were not disappointed. The food was very good. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasing. We would most definitely dine there again if we are in the area, and recommend it to others.
Thank you for your time.
Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The hostess, the server and the entire waitstaff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was simply perfect. The portion sizes were generous and the pace of the meal was on point. Highly recommend the coconut mussels and the blackfish. Lovely, memorable meal.
This has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is of excellent quality. The menu is limited and changes daily based on what is available . They try to serve locally sourced food. At our recent visit, the chef served big eye tuna which is unusual to find these days both as a tartare appetizer and a perfectly seared entree. The mussels in a coconut/lemon grass broth appetizer is frequently available and absolutely delicious.
I sure wish we lived closer the this restaurant, we would dine here more often. This was our 2nd time here and we loved it just as much as the first time. Everything was outstanding and the servers are so nice, it just makes the night more special. Thanks for everything!
While in the Mystic area we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Oyster Club. The Mussels appetizer was cooked in a mouth watering broth which made you want more bread to soak up the deliciousness. The swordfish entree was cooked perfectly and very fresh. All in all an excellent meal!
Excellent food. Excellent service. We were vacationing in the area and met some people who loved in the area. They told us the Oyster Club was the best and we shouldn't miss it. We went and were not disappointed. It is expensive, but the food was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and we will be back.
My wife and I had eaten here several times before and the restaurant was becoming one of our favorites in the area. The dishes we had in the past were delicious and wonderfully prepared, and they had the best chocolate ice cream and coffee on the planet. This week my wife ordered a fish dish that was at best marginal. I had a pork sausage dish that was really terrible. We asked for that great chocolate ice cream but instead were offered a couple ice cream choices that did not sound the least bit appealing. We never go to revisit the coffee. We may rethink this, but we left feeling that this was too risky a proposition to chance again. I did call ahead with reservation information. No one called back. I finally reserved online and they were able to take us when we showed up a full hour early. We are disappointed. This was going to be a regular spot for us.
