Oyster Club Ratings and Reviews
First time quests. Made reservations but we decided to sit on a patio, patio seating first come first serve, waitress says I'm sorry a party of 6 from mystic shops is waiting to be seated. I guess regulars has more say. We waited, then table became available. Waitress was the worst, we ordered appetizers and we had to wait another 15 minutes to ask the waitress if we can order entrees, seriously. Personality none. I spent over 150.00 for this, the worst experience I ever experienced.
I felt as an outsider, well she did a great job making sure I stay outside. I'll make sure other people stay outside as well.
It is probably a challenge to prepare ubiquitous calamari ( squid) as a special dish but The Oyster House kitchen succeeded deliciously. The cream of tomato soup - also usually ordinary- was anything but. Our tagliatelle and lobster entrees were lightly but perfectly seasoned. Dessert - hard to savor a dish on a full stomach but the almond cake and homemade ice cream both were more than equal to the challenge. Our only negative observation was that although we have dined at the Oyster House often the check was a surprise - higher than expected.
The brunch at Oyster Club seems like a great deal to us. Nothing on the menu was more than $20 the day we went ( depends on what they're serving that day). Everything was fresh, delicious and plentiful. We started with a tomato soup and a salad of tomatoes and whipped ricotta. For our main dish, we had the grilled cheese topped with egg and a vegetable/bacon medley topped with two eggs. And for some crazy reason, despite being stuffed,we had a wonderful blueberry cinnamon coffee cake for dessert. Service was attentive and the restaurant was pretty quiet at 11:30 on a Sunday. We'll definitely do this again.
Wait staff was terrible. Took more than 30 minutes to get bread. Service was slow, food cold. After 20 minutes of receiving the entree, no one asked how things were; we had to flag the wait staff down. My husband was almost done with his meal when they offered to bring me something else (salad for which they did not have the weekly featured ingedients. I declined and decided to gab something elsewhere. Definitely not the romantic anniversary dinner we planned. Will not be back.
Every dish was a gem. The combination of flavors was surprising , exhilarating and delicious. The dining room is inviting, the staff is gracious. A happening place with room for everyone and lots of children. This was a first time experience and completely satisfying. It can easily become a longtime favorite.
Wonderful dinner experience. The menu changes daily. That evening my boyfriend had the filet mignon and I had a tagliatelle with a beef ragu. Amazing dishes and we enjoyed every bite. Even the corn bread served in the bread basket was beyond tasty. Make sure you make reservations as this place was hopping on a Monday night . Can't wait to go back!
Wow! What a fantastic dinner all around. My husband and I came here for our one year anniversary. As soon as we sat down they had glasses of champs for us. Great touch! We had a mix of oysters that were very fresh and I had the chowder and mussels. Huge portion of mussels and my husband had their pasta dish. I meant to bring a piece of cake from our wedding but I forgot it back at the hotel. So they gave us a complimentary piece of cake to celebrate. Everything was delicious. We cannot wait to come back when we're in the area. Thank you oyster club!
Host kind of left us confused at check-in, we pretty much had to greet the host instead of him greet us. A good host should always make every guest feel welcome, (maybe I'm just crazy) Anyways, the food was great! A really smart menu with great flavors and ideas. The service was okay, I was charged for the more expensive glass of wine instead of what I had asked for, but I wasn't going to complain. Overall, it's a casual restaurant with great food. 9/10 would return again!
My son took me to The Oyster Club for dinner as a belated birthday present and I was very impressed! Everything that we had was absolutely delicious and the ambience is warm and cozy .
Cocktails were great and I particularly loved my grapefruit martini. It was fresh tasting, not too strong and not too sweet. We tried the corn chowder and the fried scallops for appetizers. Wonderful! The tarter sauce with the lightly fried scallops was spicy and "I want to lick the bowl" amazing! Dinner was the steak...perfectly cooked and as tender as butter, and the fluke dinner. I'm not a big fish eater, but this dish was perfect! Our server, Drew, was friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful in assisting us with recommendations.
The Oyster Club is my new favorite shoreline place to dine!
We had a lovely dinner with our foodie adult kids. Drinks at the Treehouse before dinner made for a festive evening. All the food was delicious. I was a little disappointed that there were only 2 fish entrees at a place called the Oyster Club in the middle of summer where local seafood on the CT shoreline is abundant. There were 3 beef entrees...more of a winter menu. And one service glitch: I had placed my used silverware on the plate under my soup bowl appetizer, including the knife I used to butter my bread. The waitress removed the knife and put it back on the table. Clean silverware should be part of each course in a place like this, especially if I put it on a used plate.
The dining experience was truly an amazing dining g experience. Everyone from the host to our server, Sara were great. Every food item that we selected was delicious. The time waited for the different courses were well worth the wait. I will be a frequent customer and have promoted this restaurant to all my friends who appreciate a great dining experience.
The restaurant is conveniently located just off the main road in Mystic. We arrived about 15 minutes early and our table was waiting for us. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Service was great! The food was excellent, fresh, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We will certainly return next time we're in Mystic.
This is our go-to restaurant as we know any item we choose will be absolutely delicious. The Burger, which is not always listed on the Dining Room menu, is always available and usually one of our meals. If you've been there for dinner or lunch, you must go for brunch. By far the best brunch in town with something on the menu for everyone, or you can always get the Burger!
my family was visiting from out of town and I'm new to the area. I asked my co workers of a nice restaurant to take my family and they highly recommended "Oyster Club".
I made reservations for 2pm. We had an excellent meal, and the service was great.
Definitely look forward to coming back, we all enjoyed our first time at the oyster club.
Oyster Club was a very special dining experience. This farm to table restaurant made each course unique. We were particularly fond of the mussels in coconut milk. Every dish was unique and the combination of ingredients "worked". I can't recommend it strongly enough. We also tried their treehouse bar for happy hours. It looks like a good choice for more casual fare.
I am a firm believer that food eaten outdoors alwasy tastes better. This was certainly true at the Oyster Club! We met friends here and had a delcios dinner of fluke ( 3 of us) and a hot lobster roll ( 1 of us). Served hot, perfectly seasoned and tastefully plated. We were never rushed even though the place was crowded. Totally delightful evening!
Expecting on great seafood choices given the name anything the Oyster Club does is exemplary. For instance the over the top creative Asian meatballs appetizer was to die for. My wife's salad and Fluke per her comments were as delicious and finally there Ragu and hand made Tagliatella didn't disappoint. Will return no doubt.
No shrimp cocktail and no espresso. Make their own cornbread.
Delicious! Fish was overworked and not haute cuisine. Bean garnish on my steak and on wife's swordfish. Not imaginative.
Mentioned our anniversary on open table and was greeted with "happy anniversary" nice touch and comped us desert and coffee.
I do not know we're to start. Dinner at the Oyster club was the gem of our 2 week vacation. The food and wine were superb. I had the swordfish which was cooked to perfection and served with an interesting couscous. We went with our young daughters. Although they didn't have a children's menu , which we wouldn't have expected at such a restaurant, the chef cooked the girls a very delightful simple pasta that I enjoyed tasting. Afterwards, we were able to have a nice stroll around Mystic . I only wished I lived closer to come back to this restaurant over and over again.
This is our go-to place for special occasions - brunch and dinners. The service is prompt and friendly, and the food is always outstanding. Fresh and delicious. Thumbs up! (Also a nod to Sig the bartender who on a different day made me a refreshing "fun" nonalcoholic drink.)
Oyster Club has been our favorite restaurant in Mystic since it opened. We have dined there dozens of times and always receive great service and the food is out of this world good! Dan and James and all the team there does their best to make sure your dining experience is beyond excellent and it always is! The raw oysters are the freshest, if you like chowder theirs is hands down the best in New England, and their entrees, which change daily, offer the finest in New England farm to table. We love it
