Great service and wonderful food. It was our first time but certainly not the last.
I was very disappointed in the food. I had the Crab Key Chicken. The Chicken had no flavor at all and was not seasoned. The Hollandaise Sauce also had no flavor. The red potatoes were sliced and dry with no seasoning. The vegetables were very bland. The only thing I did like was how they had smaller intimate dining rooms. With all of the really good restaurants in Cape May I don't think we will be going back to Oyster Bay.
Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood has always been a favorite stop each time we visit Cape May. The service has always been excellent as has the food - seafood and steak offerings many times. I would recommend this eatery to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Cape May. The only downside is that parking is often limited.
We drive 1/2 hour every Saturday night to have dinner at Oyster Bay. Always an excellent selection of very tasty seafood entrées.
Very easy to get to from central NJ and the parking lot was spacious enough. We entered via the front door and selected a corner table for a first date. The bang bang shrimp was delicious as well as the shrimp combo for my lady friend and a beautifully done NY steak for myself [which was cooked to perfection and amply seasoned]. The dessert was the ? cheesecake which was delicious. Too bad we shared one piece ! Definitely a great place to eat on a Wednesday night but I can imagine it would be crowded during the tourist season. or a weekend evening. Totally satisfying with a great waitress.
Good food, average service
Love this restaurant! We eat here every time we visit Cape May. The food is great and the service is awesome! Nice local feel!!
Let's just say that my husband and I enjoy taking the 147 mile drive down to Cape May for the day and we make sure we ALWAYS have an early dinner before taking the drive back home. The food is amazing and we love their seasonal menu ~ My husband had the Shrimp and Scallops Nage w/ a creole sauce and I had one of their specials: Grilled Salmon w/ crab meat served with grilled asparagus, mash potato and steamed veggies ~ Food was exceptional and service is always great and the ladies always have a smile on their face as we are now familiar faces. We are total foodies and if we are going to drive that far, it has to be worth it ~ If we can rate this higher than 5 stars, we would ~ Make sure you make reservations as they will get VERY busy in the evenings and chances are, you will not be able to get a table especially weekends ~ Awesome job yet again Oyster Bay :) ~ Until next time :)
While vacationing in Cape May we decided to look over the Trip Advisor recommendations in the area. Oyster Bay was in the top ten. So while we were stopping off at other locations we asked, where would you eat while visiting? The local crabber said Oyster Bay. We made the reservation and was very happy we did. The server, Meghan, was attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the Lobster and crab Crostini for an appetizer. My husband ordered the steak - always a medium rare is always too rare but Meghan took care of that and he enjoyed his steak, I had the Shrimp and Scallop Nage - so delicious.
love the ambiance and the service. Would definitely recommend again
The food was good, nothing out of the ordinary. The bar menu is much better than the restaurant menu in my opinion. Very disappointed in the drinks this visit. Dirty vodka martini was so dirty it needed to be replaced. Cucumber mojoito (my favorite) was great. However, the second one had almost no mint and I think they forgot the cucumber vodka. To early in the season? Not up and running at full speed?
We didn’t sit in the bar because we had a child with us. Won’t go that again! Menu needs to be updated. It’s been the same for at least two years.
Always wonderful. One of our favorite restaurants in cape may!!
Always a good meal and pleasant dining atmosphere at the Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood restaurant.
Meh. Just okay food, indifferent service
WE have been there several times and always leave impressed. The menu selections make your mouth water and you wish you could order more than one meal but you will wait until the next visit to try the second choice. Never disappoints!
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was delicious, and moderately priced. The carrot cake-OMG-so yummy!
I had the Scallops and Shrimp Nage with a Lobster Cream sauce which I requested light on cream. The dish came with without any cream and sauce had no flavor. The pasta was over cooked and did not seem fresh. I ate only the Scallops and Shrimp. At the end of the meal the server asked how everything was since I left all the pasta on the plate. I explained that the pasta did not seem fresh. Server offered a free dessert since I did not like the pasta which I declined. I then requested to speak to manager.
The Manager was rude and went into a long discussion on why I should not have requested a change in the dish. I should not of placed an order for the dish if you wanted to change it. Reducing the amount of cream did not seem like a outrageous request. She also seemed offended that I thought the pasta was overcooked and not fresh.
At the end the Manager gave us a $10 discount for the meal.
Great place everything delicious
The Appetizers and dinner meal was very good. But, the banana's Forsters Cheese Cake was outstanding!!!
Will definitely be back. The food is great and the service was wonderful. Great drinks too!
One of our go-to places in Cape May. Food is very good and the service is always pleasant. Prices are moderately high. The fried tomato appetizer is splendid. The crab-topped filet is always a safe bet and their seafood dishes are always very good.
We usually dine at the Lobster House when in Cape May but decided to stay at Concress Hall this weekend and Oster Bay was just a short walk from the hotel.
The service was great and the meal would best any Cape May restaurant. Will definitely come back and recommend anyone visiting CapeMay to take time to check out.
Minor complaint, however, to pay the prices they ask, I’d prefer a menu that is not “diner-like” and prefer a more professional place setting. The filet mignon with crabmeat was EXCELLENT! One in my party ordered the chicken and was ill that night.
Had a wonderful meal. Coconut shrimp were incredible. The banana foster cheesecake is the best.
Appetizers and Dinner were excellent. We are locals and love going here. We had family in town for Easter weekend and they loved their dinner.
this restaurant serves very good food, and accommodated our desire to watch the NCAA by seating us at the bar and providing dinner service there. Very nice bar, very helpful waiters and bartenders, and excellent desserts too!
We ate here recently for a meal on Easter weekend and were pleasantly surprised. We must have driven by this restaurant no less than 100 times and have never thought to stop here. It's right across the street from the Acme and the parking lot on Lafayette Street. Not exactly on a walking path and about 2 blocks from the end of Washington St. mall its actually not hard to get to, but you have to intend to go there.
There is some nice landscaping outside and then the interior is very nice - nautical theme with lots of dark wood and earth tones. It's split into a few different rooms which makes it cozy and quiet. One of the nicer restaurant interiors in town.
The service was prompt and attentive. One main server and others helped out. All were friendly and willing to help.
Food was excellent. We had steak, two different types of fish and the duck as entrees - all were well cooked as ordered and came with different matches vegetables and sides. The bang bang shrimp were a great appetizer - fresh and cooked perfectly. Bread was warm and freshly made, nicely spiced.
They had a very good wine list that was very reasonably priced, especially for a restaurant and they weren't all just local selections. Best wine value I have seen in town. There was a nice selection of cocktails and mixed drinks as well although we did not have any. There is a kids menu. Desserts looked good, but we were too full.
Overall, a very pleasant surprise, I wasn't sure what to expect when we came here, but we left with the impression that this is one of the better restaurants in Cape May and there is some stiff competition in that regard. We will definitely be back for another meal.
Waitstaff was great as always and food was awesome if your looking. For a great meal make sure you try oyster bay .
As usual, the food was excellent and the service very professional. We have never been disappointed at Oyster Bay!
The food was excellent. The atmosphere was inviting. The bar area was vibrant. The cocktails were very good. The prices are a little high, but we are not in Cape May very often so it's worth it.
It was our first time and we will definitely be back. We were in the restaurant not the bar area but that looked like a happening place. Food was outstanding- cooked to perfection. Our waiter was excellent.
We were in town for a ladies retreat and decided to give Oyster Bay a try. We were not disappointed !
Our meal was delicious. Tried roasted duck breast with asparagus and mashed sweet potatoes. The glaze was a special touch. I definitely plan a return visit!
Always a great meal. Awesome food and awesome service and not so loud like most other restaurants I’ve been to
Good food. Fun night out.
The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for our app and they did not clean the shrimp. This made me worry about our main course. Overall the main course was good however, my husband ordered his steak medium and it can’t out basically raw. We are not ones to complain so we did not. The service was very good. Parking was horrible!
Great food and atmosphere. My husband had the salmon special, it was very good and well seasoned. Everything was delicious with the exception of the crab cake which tasted a bit storebought and creamy texture rather than a lump crab cake. All other dishes including the mango marscapone dessert and shrimp appetizer were exceptional. Would highly recommend
Great vibe, had the oyster sliders which were delicious, just a fun place to be casual and have some apps and a drink
Ambiance, menu selection, food and service all great. Parking lot is a whole different story. It is undersized, unpaved, unlined and underlit. It is full of deep potholes and mud puddles. Count yourself lucky if you get out without a sprained ankle or a damaged vehicle. Worth dining here but park elsewhere.
We always enjoy our meals at Oyster Bay. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is delicious!
Oyster Bay is one of our favorite restaurants . My husband and I had a wonderful Valentine's celebration dinner. We both had appetizers and fish specials of the night. Everything was delicious and the staff made it a perfect evening.
Excellent have never have been disappointed . Great service and food.
