Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood
Recommended by the B&B we were staying. The food was excellent and the waitstaff friendly and attentive. I had the veal and my wife the surf & turf. The dining room has large ceilings adorned with photos and painting by local artists. Music piped in was relaxing. Great ding experience!
A belated Mother’s Day celebration.
We absolutely love this restaurant. Their sirloin steak is superb--always prepared to the correct temperature. The seafood dish my husband ordered is one of his favorites. We're going back for his birthday in June so he can enjoy it again. Their desserts are amazing. One recommendation I have, though, is to add blue cheese dressing to their list of available dressings.
Very Expensive. I feel 120 with tip for two people is too high .
A friend had recommended this restaurant. Easily made a reservation although it was Mother’s Day weekend. Surprised to find a parking lot in the rear- an added bonus in Cape May. The food was expensive but worth the price. They had our favorite wine, split an appetizer of fried tomatoes with crab between the 3 of us- delicious with lots of jumbo crab. For entrees we had coconut shrimp, scallops in cream sauce, and New England lobster bake. The lobster bake included shrimp, scallops and clams in addition to a whole lobster- enough to take home for dinner the next night as well.
Will definitely will be returning to Oyster Bay.
Great bar staff! We had the Grouper Rubin sandwich — sensational!!
A favorite of ours for seafood. We ate in back bar out of choice, which can be a bit noisier than the main restaurant. Service was attentive and efficient, and our grouper and salmon we're excellent. Not overcooked. Getting a little pricey though if you stray off the menu and order specials.
Great food and service. A must when in CM. No issues with being seated on a friday night
Excellent Food and atmosphere. Had the crab cake and steak combo and both were delicious!
Let me say first that Oyster Bay is a lovely place to dine. The formal dining room is elegant and beautifully decorated while the bar area is lively and noisy but fun. And the food is variable but generally good, albeit expensive. My first course of crab and fried tomatoes was excellent as was my husband's soup. We both had crab cakes which were ok but a bit too little crab and too much stuffing.
My big problem was the service! Not that it was impolite but we had drinks, first course, main course and coffee all within an hour -- what was the rush? No one was waiting for tables that I could see and even if they were, that's no excuse for rushing us. We had just started drinks when they virtually insisted on taking our orders. Appetizers arrived about five minutes after our drinks and we hadn't even finished our apps when the main courses arrived. Whew!
When a restaurant is elegant and relatively expensive, I am looking for a leisurely meal and this was rushed through like we were at a fast-food place. A shame since dinner for two was more than $100!
Easter Sunday dinner with my girlfriend , daughter and grandson . Everything was outstanding. We enjoyed our dinner very much.0
As we come to Cape May about 3 times a year, the Oyster Bay is always #1 on our list. Any seafood you get there will be expertly prepared. The Spinach and Brie (Wedge) Salad is incredible
Our first dinner this year was on Easter evening. Yes, it was very full, but the service was still stellar and the food exquisite. This is the mark of a well-managed restaurant.
Everything was fantastic as usual.
Have driven past this place many times, and finally decided it was time to give it a try. We had a delicious dinner. Crab cakes and the clambake entree. The dessert was awesome!! Fluffy cheesecake with bananas foster. Our server was knowledgeable with the menu and all the specials. She was very attentive. Would definitely go back and recommend!!
We just keep going back! Everyone is just so nice, the food is fabulous, the ambiance is great. This restaurant may not be located in the best spot in town, but it is one of the best in the area. When you walk inside the décor and the employees are all very welcoming. It is definitely a feel good place.
Slow service. Food marginal at best. Won’t go back.
Oyster Bay never disappoints. The atmosphere is lovely even with a bustling bar business going on in the back of the building. The food is consistently excellent. Our favorite is the “grouper special”. I finally asked why it is presented as a special when it is always available. I was told when it was on the menu, no one ordered it. Presented as a special, it flies out of the kitchen. It’s the best!
Despite the fact that they close for the winter, they maintain a very professional wait staff.
As the crowds attest, the bar is excellent and their nice, inexpensive house wine keeps our tab very reasonable.
You are greeted at the door by one of the owners and you can be assured the other owner is preparing meals in the kitchen.
If you are visiting Cape May, plan a visit to Oyster Bay!
The duck entree was supposedly maple glazed, but the glaze tasted and looked like a reduction of pancake/corn syrup. It did not taste of maple at all and was almost glue/like in consistency. The rest of the dish (and meal) was fine, but the duck was disappointing
Finally hit this place after hearing recommendations for it. Worth the trip.
Fun place we will come back
The food was rushed. It was brought to our table quickly. While the server was lovely, she did seem eager to get us out.
We are locals and truly want this to be a place we visit often.
We had our anniversary dinner at Oyster Bay. We loved the location and ambiance. Off street parking is helpful. The food was overall great, although I was somewhat disappointed with the cheese sauce on the oysters Rockefeller.
We will definitely return and will return and will recommend to friends.
Just a great place to go, I am a repeat customer for many years and visit more than once a year.
the atmosphere is whatever you want it to be warm and comfy, soft and sophisticated , bright and friendly, the staff and the patrons make this one of the best places in the cape may area.
We have a lovely double date with friends. All of us loved our meals!
Always a great meal. Never disappoints. Food is great and service is always outstanding. Very nice bar area as well.
My husband and I both ordered the filet mignon topped with lump crabmeat. It was the best meal I’ve had out in some time! The bananas foster over cheesecake for desert was also outstanding. The service was excellent too. We highly recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with this dinner. The cocktails were on point. The appetizers were terrific and the entrees were awesome. The service was excellent.
Oyster Bay is one of our favorite restaurants in Cape May. Our Valentine's Day dinner celebration on Saturday night was spectacular. My husband and I shared oysters rockefeller and a seared scallop dish for appetizers. Both of them were very tasty and delicious. My husband had a spicy seafood creole dish and I had a special of the night which was an herb encrusted halibut fish. They were both prepared to perfection. I always enjoy their seasoned bread, which taste just like the homemade bread my grandmother use to make when I was a child. The staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant to celebrate any occasion.
We had a lovely evening. The food tasted wonderful, it wasn't loud in the dining room and our waitress and the service was pleasant and on point. We will definitely be returning for other occasions.
Food was excellent and the service was even better! Been going to Cape May for years and this was the first time we tried Oyster Bay. We WILL be back!
Even returned salmon that had a trace of pineapple in the salsa without incident or charge!
We had a great time! The food was delicious and service was very timely!
This is one of our favorite places in Cape May. The food and the service are always excellent. There is one small issue...parking. They seem to get a really good bar crowd and i think that is why parking for dinner is sometimes scarce.
Valentine’s Day dinner
My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our meal which was part of our 50th Anniversary celebration. We would go there again when we revisit Cape May.
My husband & I had a wonderful night & the dinner was delicious!! The dessert, banana Forster was to die for!! The staff is so friendly & accomodating!! We had asked another server for more water because ours was busy with another table & he said sure, even with a smile!!! I’ve been to other restaurants where they would respond, I’ll get your server!!! Being a former waitress, wrong answer!! We just bought a house in Wildwood & I’m so glad we are only 15 mins. from the Oyster Bay Steak & Seafood!!!! See you real soon!!!!
Oyster Bay is our favorite restaurant in Cape May. It is consistently excellent. Seafood is always fresh and meat is high quality. Even on the busiest nights, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. And the bar is wonderful!
Great local place - we ate in the bar area and the food was delicious!
From the time you walk in the door the staff is very welcoming and the food is always very good !!!!!!
The dinner was excellent as ever!
