Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Last two times we’ve visited Oyster Bay, the food was subpar. Menu is fairly limited so you’d assume everything would taste great but that has not been the case. My husband had chicken pasta dish and chicken didn’t seem thoroughly cooked. I ordered the filet mignon and crab dish noted on menu as a “20 year staple” and it was uneventful. Desserts were good though! We love the vibe and location so we hope Oyster Bay steps up their game a bit.
The overall experience was very very good. We had a reservation and they sat us right away upon arrival. The server was very pleasant and helpful with the menu. I had a spicy shrimp and eggplant appetizer that was delicious. I kept the theme spicy and went for the Cajun seafood over linguini. Everything was perfect. Restaurant was quaint and very nicely decorated. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Made reservation for after the Christmas Tree lighting in Cape May. Arrived early and decided, with the hostess ok, to sit at the Bar. We love to eat at the bar. The bartenders are very attentive and they all check on you to see if you need anything. We can have the full menu there plus a look at the bar menu too. We had the crusted grouper and enjoyed every bit! We came back the next night and had The calamari and the cheeseburger flatbread and of course desert both nights. Love it here!
This is the second time we've dining here and both times have had superb food and excellent service. Seating is spacious so you can have quiet conversation. Menu is fairly diverse with good selections. Prices are moderate. Staff and management are very friendly.
Oyster Bay never ceases to please us. We've been there about a half-dozen times, and it's our favorite restaurant in both Cape May and anywhere. The food is wonderfully prepared and seasoned to perfection, and the ambiance is welcoming. The drinks are also expertly created and always tasty as well. From the warm smile of the Hostess, to the friendly and cheerful attitude of the Waitstaff, we always feel at home when we visit there.
Although I come to Cape May several times a year, this was my first time to Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood. The art in the front dining room was beautiful. The specials were very nice...the Oysters were awesome. And my steak cooked to perfection. This restaurant is a hit.
We always like to make a visit to Oyster Bay when we are in Cape May. I was slightly disappointed in my meal this time. My husband had gotten a special, and I had gotten a filet mignon. When our dinner came out his was piping hot, unfortunately mine was slightly warm. I never send anything back, don't know what goes on in the kitchen. I couldn't finish my steak because it actually got cold. Needless to say I wasn't too thrilled with my dinner. We will go back and try it again, maybe it was just a hiccup in service.
Great seafood, but i was hoping for at least one non-seafood appetizer that I could share with my date who isn’t fond of seafood. Even the evening’s special appetizers were all seafood - I don’t think one non-seafood appetizer is much to ask. On the positive side both our dishes - Tuscan Chicken and Salmon and Rissotto special were very tasty.
Having not dined at the Oyster Bay for sometime, my party and I enjoyed the dining experience. Our waiter knew the menu and was able to recommend several gluten free dinners for one of our party. The service was prompt and the food was very good. One drawback for me is that as soon as I was finished my meal, the bus person wanted to remove my plate. Personally, I find this in bad taste, partly because my wife will sometimes offer to share a bite or two of her meal. I will continue to recommend this restaurant.
We love the New England Clam Bake when we go to Oyster Bay but this time, they had switched over to their Fall menu and our favorite was missing from the menu. I picked the scallops and shrimp on risotto with mashed sweet potatoes mixed in. I had never heard of such a thing but I was willing to give it a try. It was positively delicious and the scallops and shrimp were done perfectly. My husband had the salmon with parmesan risotto and they prepared it exactly as he wanted (rare). We both enjoyed our meals as much as the clam bake and the service was excellent.
We had a great meal. My lobster was delicious, not over done. The crab it was stuffed with was also very tasty. Hubby's steak was just right. My Acai Mojitos were fantastic. I really like the ambiance and the nautical but not tacky decor here. The paint color for some reason made me feel like I was home, very pleasant color choice. Nice big hearth fire place. I'd come back to this place.
Cheerful Maitre D’, professional staff. You’re left alone just enough to enjoy your dining experience without feeling like the forgotten table. The Crab cake, steak, swordfish and vegetables were all cooked to perfection. Key lime mousse was divine. Great place for groups or casual outing.
