Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood
Our appetizers and dinner we’re the best we’ve had so far on our vacation, that is including Williamsburg Virginia and Wildwoods area! The Panko crusted tomatoes over crab and a aoli sauce and the oysters were fantastic! Veal chop and lobster bake....DELICIOUS! Service was impeccable and the atmosphere is very nice nautical and relaxed with a dress code of casual to dressy.
Always great food and great service! Would highly recommend making a reservation - popular place!
We’ve eaten at Oyster Bay many times. There is an appetizer and a salad that is very good. I have to pick between the two because if I eat both, I won’t eat my entree. The appetizer is fried tomatoes with crabmeat. They give you one fried panko-crusted tomato cut in fours and underneath is greens with a pile of crabmeat that has remoulade sauce on it, or all thru it. It’s very good. Very rich. The appetizer I love is the spinach & brie salad. Almond crusted toasted brie, spinach, croutons, red onions and dried cranberries with strawberry-insused balsamic vinaigrette.
They seem to always have a special of lamb chops stuffed with feta cheese. I think they’re delicious. They have some type of red sauce on the plate which is good but I don’t really need it. There isn’t a lot of sauce so that is fine and as I said it is tasty. The steak diane is very good also. Their mashed potatoes are good. I don’t care for their rice pilaf. To me it had an odd flavor so I never get that. The Grouper which I think is a special is very good. A friend got some type of pasta in a red sauce once. She liked it but I didn’t. There was a spice I didn’t like but I couldn’t put my finger on it as to what it was. My husband has also gotten the veal San Marco. Medallions of veal breaded and pan-fried topped with marinated tomatoes and melted Fontina Cheese. Very good also. So basically we say we’re going to try different things but wind up getting these. I say next time I’m going to try the Coquilles St Jacques. We’ll see. You must leave room for the bananas Foster cheese cake. A light cheese cake sitting in a warm caramel sauce with whipped cream and sliced bananas. You don’t really need all the caramel sauce that is on the plate but what are you going to say, “Don’t give me so much warm caramel sauce?” Some people may like all that sauce. It is a delicious dessert!! The servers I’ve had are professional and friendly. The dining rooms are nice. Great bar too
Friendly efficient staff. Food was delicious. Ate there last summer as well.
Great food and service here! Excellent server was wonderful! She was so accommodating and knew the menu well. Both her and the chef were flexible with the menu and willing to change things around. They also were super careful with allergies! Our food was wonderful. It wasn’t a bad price for all of the food that we got. The New England clam bake was amazing and fresh. Also had options for people who don’t like seafood. I would skip dessert, but definitely would return.
Food was great and plenty of it, service was real nice, attentive but not overbearing.
Great food. Great service. Great drinks. Great prices.
Efficient, above average food quality. Would recommend to anyone
We stumbled upon the Oyster Bay by chance about 10 years ago when we were unable to get into the Lobster House for dinner one night. We ended up LOVING it! It has become our favorite restaurant in Cape May and the one we save as our special date night during summer vacation every year. My kids will usually chip in to get us a gift card there for our Anniversary each year as well! And w e always recommend this restaurant to our friends who stay at our beach house.
Oyster Bay continues to be one of the best restaurants in Cape May. I recommend Oyster Bay for drinks, bar atmosphere, apps, sandwiches and dinner!!!!!!!
Steve the waiter was exceptional. From moment we sat to the moment we were done he made sure that we were enjoying our meal. The food is very good I had the porter house veal chop and my husband had the seafood Calabrese. I would recommend having a meal there when your vacationing in Cape May
Great attended service from the hostess when you walk in to ordering your dessert and coffee.
I have to say, one of the best roast beef sandwiches I’ve ever had.
Food outstanding and service attentive and quick. Would definitely return.
Great food at reasonable prices. Good service. Location is in the middle of town
Had a wonderful dinner with my mother and sister. Our server Joanne was amazing. She was attentive, informative and gave us great service. The food was delicious as always. We never have a bad meal here!
Wonderful, comfortable atmosphere with outstanding food. Have been coming to Cape May for over 30 years and never had the opportunity to dine here. Told our server we would be back again this year and multiple times in years to come. Everything sounded yummy but we had the salmon and grouper dishes which were excellent. You will not be disappointed!!!
Exce!lent fish of the day specials, generous portions, great drinks, delicious like mousse dessert and creme brule with fruit.
We had reservations for 5:30 and we arrived early and were seated right away. The waitress was very good with presenting the specials and her service was exceptional. This is our new go to place when in the Wildwood/Cape May area. The food and drinks were outstanding!
Great veal and service was good
We were on a week long vacation and decided to have a nice dinner with our family. The food was excellent, something to appeal to everyone. We had the oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer and they were amazing. Our server was delightful too.
Food was amazing, staff was attentive but not overly so. We all loved our food. Highly recommend
Very disappointed with our server, who was not friendly and had an attitude. Food was ok, although my husband's crab cakes were better than my seafood pasta dish which had no flavor in the sauce-tasted liked it was just the water the pasta was cooked in... Very bland.
The menu is not available online we were told, although I had a menu that said it was their's from Trip Advisor???
Best restaurant in Cape May, hands down. Best service and steaks u can cut with a fork.
We dine here often, more in the off season to ensure access. Typically we eat in the back bar area, but decided to make a reservation and sit in one of the dining rooms. Food is consistently good. My pan fried crusted grouper was cooked just right (not over done), and my wife's fried tomatoes with crab and dinner salad was fresh and tasty. Service was earnest, friendly and, best of all, prompt.
Oyster Bay is not a "find" for us, but since we eat here so frequently I thought I would (finally) post a review.
This used to be a favorite of ours but our recent dinner was a major disappointment. My salad was drowned in dressing to the extent the spinach looked wilted. The server gladly exchanged it. But the chicken with crabmeat had the same issue: the crabmeat was again drowned in hollandaise sauce to the point that I couldn’t taste the crabmeat at all. And the chicken was over cooked.
So in spite of good wine and service, we won’t be returning.
Great experience! Great food & service, will definitely return!
Just a dinner with fsmily
We have eaten there before in the past when we visit Cape May the food is always great . The only problem was with parking but we were seated as soon as we arrived,so as not to go over with parking limit time.
When in Cape May we always try to dine here. Great Grouper which is why we go there.
I have been going to Oyster Bay for many years and have always found the food delicious and the waitstaff friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The dirty martinis are excellent. I would highly recommend Oyster Bay for an awesome night out.
This was our first time at the restaurant and we really enjoyed it. My husband and I were down for a long weekend and the hostess was kind enough to take our picture together. Food, service and atmosphere are great!
My wife and I have been visiting Cape May for nearly 25 years but this was our first time dining at Oyster Bay. Both seafood and steak dishes were excellent. Service was friendly and timely. We will definitely make a return visit during our next trip to Cape May.
Waitress was very pleasant food was good and served on a timely basis. Conversation was alittle difficult as you had to talk loud to be heard
Great bang bang shrimp for our appetizer, surf and turf for dinner and don’t forget chocolate cake for dessert with coffee. YUM!!
Great food great service. Nothing negative to say.
Oysters Rockefeller ok; swordfish was very good — shrimp were a nice addition. Filet with crabmeat was good. Service fine, a bit detached. Wines by the glass, eh. Casual atmosphere, one notch above Bennigans.
This is our new favorite place in Cape May, we enjoy the comfortable atmosphere and the wait staff is always pleasent. The special grouper is my favorite! They have a great menu and delectible drink menu. Can't wait to return.
Oyster Bay always has great food, drinks, and service. Before the season gets hectic, you can usually find parking behind the restaurant. The servers are attentive and friendly, and the portions are very large. We always enjoy going here!
Too many ill behaved kids and poor parental guidance distracting from an enjoyable Father’s Day dinner. Food was average + and service was above average. Not a complete fail, but I will think twice before returning.
Nothing special. Didn’t like the coconut shrimp at all. Outback Steakhouse beats your meal. How sad. Inside very old. Bathroom felt like 90 degrees. We will not be back
