Oyster Bay Seafood and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
This was the worst dining experience I've ever had in Vegas. (I am in Vegas quite frequently and have eaten at many different restaurants.) One of my favorite foods is crab legs, which is what I ordered at this restaurant. On their website they tout that they serve only the freshest seafood, which is why I chose to make a reservation at the restaurant. However, these crab legs were far from fresh....not even close. Half of them were hot and and half were very cold--close to frozen. They had obviously come out of the freezer and I don't know how they cooked them/warmed them, but it sure wasn't properly! Not only that, they tasted old...no flavor...what cardboard might taste like...and not at all tender like what I am accustomed to. Furthermore, when I told the waiter about it, he said he could take them back to have them heated more, which would have heated the half-frozen ones but would have made the hot ones overdone...Besides, they didn't taste right anyway (even the heated ones), so I knew that wouldn't help. When I tried to explain, the waiter nervously said "I'm sorry"...."Enjoy", and walked away. "Enjoy"??? I just knew a manager would come over and apologize and take them off of our bill, but that never happened. And crab legs are never inexpensive. We paid $50. for them at this restaurant. Again, very bad dining experience!
The Calamari appetizer was delicious, my fish and chips were good, my husbands crab legs were pitiful, not at all what he had expected, he said the mashed potatoes had too much garlic, and he doesn’t eat broccoli (not the restaurant’s fault on that) he ended up eating my fries and some of my fish....it was nice however sitting on the patio people watching!
The hostess & waiters were on point. The complimentary bread & appetizer I ordered were spot on, but my main course, not so much. Never had any kind of fish in a marinara sauce, so I thought I'd be adventurous & try it. Some people may enjoy it, but I did not. I will go back, but totally order something different.
This restaurant is in the mall area of Planet Hollywood. The menu was lacking. The service was so slow. Apparently they were having issues with ipads that the were using, but pen and paper could've easily fixed that. The lobster in the lobster bisque was overcooked. I told my waiter I was allergic to broccoli but that was the only vegetable side they had. Even though I told the waiter about the allergy, my plate came out with broccoli on it after 45 minutes of waiting for the entree. I had to send it back. The only redeeming qualities were the greek salad and mashed potatoes.
I enjoyed a whole pound of Alaskan King crab legs which were delicious. They are served split in half so you do not have to do anything but scoop out the meat, dip in butter and enjoy. The crab legs were served with season mashed potatoes and a bunch of broccoli and of course bread and dipping oil. There are many Italian dishes available so it was a good thing I had already determined what I wanted before making my reservation. I will definitely go back to this place.
Restaurant was out of scallops, the entree I intended to order. The waiter suggested ordering the stuffed shrimp. I did take his suggestion but regretted it because the stuffing had little to no crab, i.e. it was 90% breading. I did complain and the meal was taken off the bill. My wife had 1/2 lb of crab legs and they were nicely split and excellent.
Eh - wasn't terrible, just wasn't very good including the drinks. I ordered a Tito's Cosmopolitan which wasn't made with Tito's. Not sure if it was the waiters or bartenders fault. Sauce on chicken parmigiana tasted like bottled sauce and didn't have much flavor. All seafood is frozen
First of all, this is a really tiny restaurant located in the mall, and it is very difficult to find as their signage is not vey prominently displayed. Also, they do not have a restroom, you have to use the one halfway across the mall. Where do the employees wash their hands? The food and service was just OK. As a party of one, I sat at the bar. There was one other patron there, but I had to ask for refills of my beverage, despite two restaurant employees behind the bar. One employees sole task appeared to be stirring the ice in the sink. I ordered the lobster tails, they were a little dry, but not bad, just overpriced. My side included mashed potatoes and some really bland broccoli. Service was typical lackluster Las Vegas indifference. I would have a difficult time recommending this establishment.
We all had some kind of fish dish. One was better than the other. Shrimp franchise was cooked perfect and very tasty. Scallops was made to perfection and the ravioli stuffed with lobster melted in your mouth. Server error was friendly, helpful and prompt. Would definitely go back.
The name lets you expect a restaurant focused on seafood, and this couldn't be further from the truth. This is basically a chain Italian restaurant, with a few seafood items on the menu. The mahi-mahi was good but not exceptional. As always in Las Vegas, the prices are high vs. the quality.
Not the most fancy place, but for the price the food is great! Not an extensive wine list, but again the prices for what you get is good! It is located in the mall area so the ambiance isn't overly fancy, but great for people watching. One must are the oysters. They are fresh, well cleaned, and the waiters knew about the areas they came from! We were there for my birthday and they gave us a free yummy terimasu!
In the middle of the mall attached to Planet Hollywood. Not exactly romantic if that's what liking . Service was good. Cocktail shrimp appetizer was the worst part of dinner. Overall pretty good otherwise. Surf and turf was excellent as was the shrimp and crab ravioli. Bellini was a good value. Beers...not a great selection.
Always a pleasure and food expertly prepared. Two of us got the Mediterrean and it was a great blend of seafood in marinara with just a little kick. If you get this ask for it with penne and it is terrific. They are very accommodating to make some alterations to suit your wishes.
Initial experience was good in regards to seating promptness. Was seated near the server entrance but the place is small so didn't really think about it. Server took a while to actually show up to start the ordering process. Ordered oysters but there was no explanation of what type they were so when they arrive it was a potluck with no explanation still. For a place with Oyster in the name I would just expect more. Our main courses took a really long time and were not great. My wife complained about the service but the server didn't care and did nothing. Wouldn't recommend it as there are ton of places to eat at in Vegas.
