Oxford Exchange Ratings and Reviews
A bit of a wait for seating even with reservation but worth it for a most excellent lunch. Although very busy, our server made sure we were out the door in time for a matinee we were attending. Food quality was excellent with very flavorful and interesting choices. We greatly enjoyed the fish tacos and the chopped salad along with the sweet potato fries. Also enjoyed 2 rather small bloody marys with large prices. Overall an excellent meal.
My mom had heard of this place as one of the oldest restaurants in Tampa, although I do not think that is correct. The place looked VERY new. The dining room was beautiful, light and airy, very open, which made it very VERY loud.
We came Saturday for brunch which required a reservation. Come early, as parking is impossible unless you want to pay an extra $10 to park across the street, which we ended up doing. Personally I feel that is complete BS. We paid over $80 for brunch, with zero alcohol for two... PLUS parking?!?
The Saturday brunch menu is condensed from the weekday menu. We ordered the small plates: fried avocado, smoked salmon, fried brussel sprouts and lobster sliders.
Starting with the lobster sliders, it was decent. Not Maine lobster, so taste wise it may have well just been shrimp. Honestly the best part of the slider was the bacon.
The smoked salmon was good, very nice flavor but nothing I couldn’t do in my smoker at home.
The fried brussel sprouts were good, we both liked the cheese on top. The Meyer Lemon vinaigrette was nothing to write home about and the sprouts themselves tasted a bit burnt.
The fried avocado was a complete waste of time. I would never order that again. It was very bland, even with a sqeeeze of lime on the top. Perhaps mixing a bit of lime zest and seasoning into the bread crumbs would help that dish along?
At the end of the day the shining star was our server. Very attentive, knowledgeable, personable and professional, honestly the only reason I would see to go back - although I will not.
The meal was vastly overpriced, I could not hear a word my mother was saying and at the end of it all, I just felt like I had paid for the “experience” which was not even remotely worth it.
Service was poor and food mediocre. Drinks delivered by expediter and they took 3 times as long to come to the table as the food!!! We were there for breakfast and it took so long for a regular coffee we almost got up and left. Server spent so much time at a table with what appeared to be his friends and totally ignored us. Was attentive when time came for check. A member of our party saw him whispering to a fellow server then they both looked at our table and laughed. Very disappointed. First and last visit for breakfast. Have always really enjoyed lunch. Parking was a disaster. Finally paid $10 to park for max 2 hours! Ugh!
I brought my children here for afternoon tea in preparation for “tea with Santa” which they are offering this season. I have gone to plenty of high teas overseas and this one was extremely extremely disappointing. I have a 1 year old. They sat me on a fountain... I have a 9 year old who has been to many teas as well and he didn’t even want to eat half the stuff on the plate. We got a kids tea and a champagne tea. Server didn’t get food out on time. Water was empty. The atrium is kind of humid. Scones were gingerbread with no alternative. Hard as rocks. Literally cannot split to butter. Sweet cream was old and hard, Tab was almost 50$ for one cuppa and a hard scone. No thanks. Tea was weak. Beautiful building inside, just doesn’t live up.
Went to Oxford Exchange while in Tampa on vacation after a recommendation from a friend. It was an absolutely delightful experience. Food portions were great, and the ambience for a Sunday Brunch was great.
Parking can be a bit difficult on a Sunday morning, but the church across the street offers $10 parking.
Excellent brunch, service and ambiance. The Oxford Exchange is a wonderful place to enjoy a good meal with family or friends.
The interior is a retreat into a very pleasant setting, though on the noisy side. One of the dining rooms is bright and inviting, with a pool in the center of the atrium.
The food is plentiful and very good. Service exceptional and prices fair.
Will defiantly return.
This was our second of what will certainly be many visits to Oxford Exchange. From our entrance to our departure, everything was spot on. Great service. Great food. Noisy, but in a good way...no raucous shouting or overbearing television...just patrons enjoying themselves. Kudos to our server, Killian, who went all out to make our birthday celebration memorable.
The Fish Taco was great with a lot of flavor -it was one our favorite
The brunch flat bread was good too but the scrambled egg toast was too much cheesy
The cheese was overpowering the toast with the scrambled eggs
But was impressed us most was the service from Kassandra
She was very attentive and her attention to details was impressive
We have been going to Oxford Exchange over the last two years and her service stood out exceptionally the best so far
I brought my parents to try this restaurant and it was their first time. They absolutely loved it! My dad had the Steak Salad, my mother had the Salmon with cheese spread, I had the vegan burger and we all shared the Kale scramble egg. The Carrot Cake tea had to the best tea I have ever had. Just simply Delicious.
I made a reservation and when I arrived I was sat at a table near the staff service area which was extremely loud and cramped and I asked to be moved and recieved attitude from the lady with dark black hair and then I was moved to a different table that was not balanced and moved constantly. The food was nothing above sub par service was good but it was not as amazing as I would have thought
They kicked us out because we want to have afternoon tea but reserved a 2pm table (afternoon tea starts at 3pm). We told the manager we will order some brunch as well because we haven't seen each other for a long time and want to spend a bit more time together since they close at 5pm. But no, they forced us to release the table and have us wait outside for an hour until the afternoon tea starts. This is insanely ridiculous. I will never come back to Oxford Exchange again.
