Absolutely love this gem. Plan to visit every time we come to town to see my son at UT. Love it so much, after the first time visiting I redecorated my kitchen reminiscent of its decor. Service is hometown, friendly but efficient and professional. Food is EXCELLENT. Love it.
As a boutique restaurant, OE is stunning, but afternoon tea was a disappointment. After ordering we waited a half hour to receive beverages and food. Having recently experienced afternoon tea in London, the food at OE was disappointing. It consisted mostly of cookie like items, including the scones. Save your money and have afternoon tea somewhere else.
The ambiance is very nice but the food is not that good, I was expecting more
I went for the first time with a friend of mine who has also never been there before. We wanted to see what the hype was all about.
We didn’t have to wait too long because we pre-booked a reservation with Opendoor. Our reservation was at 12:30 and we got sat around 12:45 so the wait was minimal.
We sat in the indoor section and it was very busy therefore it was really noisy with lots of table chatter in combination of the very busy kitchen.
To start, I got the fried avocado wedges which were to die for! The breading had a little bit of a kick to it but, nothing too overwhelming. The iced caramel latte that I got was also very good, not too sweet but also not bitter.
For my main brunch dish, I got the Benedict which was phenomenal! I’m a sucker for avocados so the avocado mash on the English muffin was definitely my favorite part.
My friend got an all egg white omelette with a side of fruit and she said it was delicious and almost like eating a fluffy cloud.
We were thinking about get a mimosa or a Bellini however, 1 glass was $10 and the glass was just a regular sized champagne flute with no refills.
Overall the experience of the Oxford Exchange was very nice. The building is a lot larger on the inside that what was expected. Loved the idea of the two little cafés and the bookstores. Having the bookstores around and all the little accent pieces you can bring into your home to look at while you waited for your name to be called was very nice.
I can definitely see why everyone loves it here. 10/10 would recommend!
Oxford Exchange is superb. I wish you didn’t have to make a reservation to make sure you are able to eat that day, but I understand the hype. It’s a absolutely stunning restaurant that is unique and elegant. The food is equally amazing to the ambiance. I just wish this place were more of a secret.
My friend and I came here for brunch on Sunday and we had an excellent time. Definitely make a reservation before coming. I think our servers name was Chad? But he was an awesome server, very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu when we had questions. My friend and I just shared a bunch of stuff so I ordered the avocado wedges and the smoked salmon lox which was delicious! My friend ordered the crispy rice (a little too chewy for my taste), the Nutella babka and the kale scramble. They all had great taste! In addition I also had a pot of the Moroccan mint tea hot and my friend had a pot of chai tea latte. Overall everything went smooth, we had excellent service and the food was great! Will definitely be back.
Beautiful building, feels very upscale but prices are reasonable
I would not recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an enjoyable meal out with friends and are over 50. While everything is lovely, it is simply too noisy to have a decent conversation unless you're prepared to yell. If anyone in your group has a hearing deficit, you're screwed. It was also freezingly cold, so make sure you take a wrap. Otherwise, good food, good service, nice surrounding.
OE is the best breakfast place in Tampa! I love the Kale Scramble. The home fries are crunchy, flavorful and delicious. The atmosphere is romantic and fun. It’s a literary person’s dream with the book collection and gift shop!
Wonderful place!!! I love the atmosphere, and the staff. Went for lunch for a send off lunch for a close friend. We extensive tea menu both hot and cold brews.
Believe it or not, but it was very cold in the restaurant. We sat in the atrium, beautiful, but cold. It was also very loud in the resturant.
Great food. Interesting atmosphere. Plenty of parking in free lot. Would love to go back again!
I came here the first time as a guest at a baby shower. All I can say is well done! I returned for brunch a mere month later because I loved the vibe here. I’m so glad that I did. First, the service was exceptional! Kelli was amazingly timely and thorough - a total pro. The food was excellent, too. I think the omelette is the best in the Bay Area. It was perfectly prepared, fluffy eggs with the cheese melted in the center, the sides, OMG I don’t think it had room for improvement. And I’m still thinking of the jam! I will be back in 2 weeks with a foodie from Cleveland who will love this place.
Very good food at a cool place!
Food quality was exceptional as always. Probably had the best breakfast server I have ever had.
We had brunch for our girls day out, TEAM BRIDE. Food was delicious, we took pictures everywhere lol. This was the most perfect experience to kick off our day!!
As always, the atmosphere cannot be beat. Despite slower than usual service at the table, the meal and ambiance were great.
Your parking situation set the tone. We wouldn’t normally support Scientology. Why did we pay $10 to park and we were there less than an hour. 2 yogurt parfaits and one tea shouldn’t set us back &38.
Chopped salad was good but needed a little something extra added to all the greens. The sweet potato fries are perfect and deliciously crispy if you get the ones that don't have too much seasoning on them, but to be fair they are listed as spicy. Overall a nice lunch with friends. Very loud, but you know that going in.
Love this place except one very large complaint - parking!!!! I even made early lunch reservations hoping to avoid this but no luck. Restaurant down the block not only has a valet at lunch but offsite self parking nearby. I refuse to pay anyone $10 to park in their lot across from a restaurant so I had to park several blocks away & walk. Oxford Exchange needs to come up with a better plan like the other nearby restaurant or be prepared to loose fed-up patrons
Always a quality experience! A winner every time!
The food at the Oxford exchange is always good. Usually the service matches the food. This time whoever was different. We were dining with a friend who had a cast on her dominant hand. She asked the waiter if the kitchen could cut up her steak salad. He said everything was cut up already and not to worry. When she got her meal, the pieces of steak were long strips and needed to be cut. The salad was two hunks of lettuce. She was embarrassed that I had to cut her food. Our drinks can after the appetizer and no refills were offered. It wasn’t busy so no excuse
The staff was wonderful and the menu was equally impressive.
Our waiter was phenomenal and made it easy to choose plates
Great breakfast options with super service and atmosphere!
We attended for afternoon tea. It was $26 per person which is a fair price for Afternoon Tea. The tea selection, on the surface, looks wonderful... But in all honesty the teas themselves are a bit weak/mild flavored. Especially compared to having afternoon tea in England and Ireland. The sandwiches we're good, although I think afternoon tea could avoid using peanut butter and jelly, it's pretty lame at that price point. The other sandwiches we're tasty especially the brioche with Tumeric chicken salad. The scones, sweet cream, and preserves were on point. The deserts were "meh" with the exception of the macaroons. I think it's easy to assume everyone loves chocolate; At the same time having multiple chocolate based sweets lacks vision.
Overall I can say we will be back, but I also think OE needs to work on their afternoon tea game. It would be AMAZING. Right now it's acceptable.
I’ve been to Oxford exchange so many times and I’ve always loved it. This is my first time going for afternoon tea and I must say… The food was not up to Oxford exchanges standards.
The ambience and service is always excellent there but I was actually really disappointed in the food. The scones were tiny chocolate chip ones that crumbled in your hand while trying to spread the clotted cream and jam. The sandwiches really lacked flavor and felt like a 12-year-old made them. The desserts on top… The macaroons were smaller to conventional sized macaroons and were actually extremely dry and crisply crumbled out of your mouth when taking a bite. I know that I am no chef and this most definitely is first world problems but I would just hope that the restaurant sees this and improves on the food provided. I love afternoon teas and I’ve been all over Tampa exploring anywhere that offers it. I’ve also been to London and experienced it there which was awesome! Oxford exchange usually has amazing food but this afternoon tea is something that I just don’t understand. Please please please work on the food that you serve for this… Especially if you were going to charge the same amount as everyone else around town… Maybe even more. The value was absolutely horrible for what we got.
Making a reservation for 2pm and not getting seated until 2:20 was frustrating especially since we checked in early. Other than that the food was great and our server Tristan was great.
I indicated that I was there to celebrate my birthday and it was not acknowledged. Also, my reservation time was confirmed for 2pm and I was not seated until after 2:30pm
Food was amazing!!
I love it there. Good food, great ambiance and books, it’s heavenly.
Service was excellent- Food came out fast but still fresh. Beautiful restaurant!
Food is Incredible! Gotta try!!! Will for sure return!!! Will not disappoint!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
One of my favorite places. The venue is beautiful and the food is delicious.
Afternoon tea was not what I had envisioned or expected, personally for me a waste of time and money, I was expecting something more traditional English afternoon tea.
Oxford is beautiful and fun to go to for coffee or tea. The restaurant is over priced and good but not amazing. You go for the experience over food.
Always a great experience at OE. Food was excellent as was the service. Luckily got a reservation on Opentable bc the earliest walkup seating was a 2.5 hour wait. Only had to wait 15 mins bc of the availability on Opentable
The ambiance is second to none.
Booked table for high tea which I specified in my notes, did not get a call to let me know high tea is only served on the weekend and no solution or anything else was offered. It was something we’d planned and we were very disappointed considering we made it known what we were coming for. So customer service experience was poor. Lovely looking place.
