Small and romantic we specialize in celebrations with family and friends, or just a quiet dinner with good conversation. We are family owned and operated and have been serving our community since 2001.

Drive in to Opera Alley and be transported. We strive to bring approachable food and beverage, a sense of comfort and community, as well as a unique and quality dining experience. We call ourselves a "cafe" in the sense that we are not pretentious and offer a fine dining experience in an atmosphere of comfort and respite.

Parking in Opera Alley, and downtown, can be a bit of a challenge, especially on the weekends, so please be sure to give yourself plenty of time when making reservations to find a parking space, or consider a night off from driving and get an Uber or Lift!! Eat good food often, break bread with friends and family, spend time with those you love, and we will see you soon.

We are currently open for indoor dining Tuesday through Thursdays 4:30 to 8:30 pm and Friday and Saturday from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm. You can make online reservations through our website at www.overthemooncafe.net. We seat parties of 2 persons for 1 & 3/4 hours and parties of 3-4 for 2 hours. We appreciate your consideration of these limitations. Due to our limited seating, we cannot take table change requests. Please be aware that prices and availability may vary due to supply issues that we are currently experiencing. As a small, family boutique-style restaurant, it is our desire to bring you a warm and welcoming dining experience. Because we are a small scratch kitchen, in order to ensure everyone's food is timely and consistent, no substitutions can be made. We have dined at Over the Moon 4 or 5 times. Always, on the entry level. The lower level looks very nice as well. There are no windows there, but the ambiance is lovely. A charming touch at some of the tables are note chests where people write messages on whatever scraps of paper, available (think: the back of a receipt) to tell their dining partner or absences of a partner what their experience w/that person or this restaurant or this occasion means to them. We read at least a dozen messages while waiting for our appetizers & mains. Lovely idea. My husband had the duck. I had the short rib/pasta dish. Both were delicious. The Brussels were a delicious starter & we split a caesar salad. Perfect meal. Lovely setting. Not stuffy or too precious. Just comfortable & tasty.

Had dinner at Over the Moon several times and the food has always been amazing. Not up to snuff this time. Bread was awesome and salad good, but our two main courses lacked. Salmon was overdone and cioppino was a bit mealy tasting with ingredients seemingly thrown together without blending seasonings. Everything else was fine, and will probably go again.

Starters and entrees were really terrific. A Caesar salad was OK, nothing special about it. I had the short rib and ragu, excellent in every way. I've had the rib and ragu twice, so next time at OTM, the plan is to try something else. Server, Hallie, does an outstanding job. OTM is highly recommended.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Over the Moon and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The ambiance is so cozy and chic. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. The food was utterly delicious. The menu described the dishes perfectly and I was so delighted with my meal. Every bite was perfect.

Menu changes were not for the best (the popular bread appetizer is gone). Appetizers were less than appealing . . . brussel sprouts with globs of cheese on top, hard and no flavor, a waste of money. They should rename what they call a caesar salad. It was not authentic, and did not have anchovies, and no anchovies are available to add to the salad. The beef short rib rag was entirely changed from prior visits. It used to have a wonderful tomato and fresh herb base. Now it was cream based, and tasted like beef stew over pasta. Consistency is lacking when dishes appear the same, but are changed without any notice to customers. The overpriced drink was the best thing I had.

Decadent and delicious food. The atmosphere is moody and romantic. Steak and mashed potatoes were buttery and delicious. Greens beans could've been cooked longer, but by no means hindered the experience. Would highly recommend the turtle pie!

This was a wonderful restaurant with quality food and a very unique atmosphere and ambiance. It’s small and cozy and certainly a special place to celebrate a special occasion or a romantic date. The noise level was like any other busy restaurant. It certainly is not silent, but certainly not boisterous. It has enough volume to indicate people having a good time. We decided on Over the Moon Cafe to celebrate our anniversary based on recommendations from our daughters. The ambiance was superb and very romantic. The food and service were both great. We had a wonderful dinner at Over the Moon Cafe! All the food was delicious, we had brussel sprouts, beet and wedge salad, crab bisque, duck breast and butternut squash pasta. This was my first time at Over the Moon. I was the birthday girl and got to pick my restaurant . My friends came from Seattle and Vashon. The restaurant was recommended to me by another friend and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was cozy,our server was delightful, and each of us had a delicious meal! We started with the brussel sprout appetizer, which honestly were probably the best brusselsprouts I ever had. The servings were a good size and we all took leftovers home (great breakfast today too) . I will definitely plan a trip back with my husband !
