The food is always outstanding. The atmosphere fun. However, on this occasion the service was worse than bad. It was non existent. Our server took our food and drink order and that was essentially the last time we saw her. No follow up. No inquiry if we needed anything further. Others had to pick up her slack to bring us a to go carton and our bill. It was very disappointing.

While there's certainly no shortage of Greek options in Astoria, Ovelia has always been one of the best options. Whether it's an entree or appetizer, dinner or brunch, or just drinks and mezzes, Ovelia never misses. The quality of the service and ambiance are right up there with the food. It's a great go-to for a date or a group.

Always a wonderful experience — I live in Astoria and take friends from out of town here. The Grilled feta cubes are always a big hit, and the inventive, delicious specials are always terrific. Really really nice staff too.

Super expensive—one appetizer, two drinks, two entrees and a dessert was $150 with tip, easily one of the more expensive places I’ve ever eaten out at in Astoria (Nearly on par with Christo’s). If you’re willing to spend that kind of money then this place is great for a special occasion but I would never go back as a regular every day dining experience. The three dips with pita were good to start. The lamb dip I had was good but not worth the $25 in my opinion. The octopus (market price) was incredible.

I have been eating at Ovelia for years and years and the food and service are consistently excellent. Great food and friendly service. Great happy hour and appetizers for when you just feel like sitting at the bar and hanging out a bit. It is my top go-to restaurant in Astoria.

Wonderful meal on a Sunday night. House wine was on special for Happy Hour and was delicious. Dips were great, octopus the best I have had in a long time, and the salmon souvlaki was wonderful. Service was great, music was great. Time to become a regular!

We had a wonderful meal for brunch at Ovelia! We ordered the trio of dips with pita as an appetizer and they were all delicious. Then one of us got eggs Florentine, which were poached eggs with hollandsise over slices of spinach filled pastry—beautiful and delicious! Another had baklava pancakes (incredible pancakes stacked with honey and nuts sprinkled over!), and another had the grilled chicken sandwich on bread that has feta baked into it. Everything was outstanding in flavor snd presentation. There were many items on the menu that appealed to all of us. Would highly recommend this place for brunch, and I would be interested to try their lunch and dinner menus also.

I N C R E D I B L E food. Had a wonderful table for 4 our front on a beautiful night. Great happy hour that went until 8pm (I think $5 house wine). We shared a couple of small plates. Winner of the night: Feta cubes. So incredible, melt in your mouth, sweet, salty, crispy, and creamy. Other dishes- 3 dips of (hummus, feta with peppers, and outstanding tzatziki), lamb meatballs, spanakopita, grilled shrimp, and zucchini chips. All were amazing, lamb was a bit dry though. Staff was very friendly, but we couldn’t get their attention for the last 20 minutes of our meal because it was so busy. Didn’t ruin the experience at all, highly recomend!
