My wife and I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for quite some time. Therefore, we asked a couple to join us last weekend. The location is awesome. The service was magnificent. The food and beverages were amazing. Overnight, this has become one of our top-3 spots to dine in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area.
Our waiter was condescending, the food was mediocre and over priced.
I cant even count how many times we have been to Ouzo Bay. We are from DC and drive up to Baltimore when we get a Greek craving. Yes, there are several Greek restaurants in DC, but none that compare to this one. This is by far my favorite restaurant.
Total cut above your traditional greek restaurant. Yes, it's expensive, but every morsel was worth it! Service was impeccable, and the fresh fish selection was both gorgeous and tasty. Loved the zucchini chips - delicious! All entrees were very generous portions.
We love Mediterranean food and had never been here so we decided to try it for our anniversary dinner. We enjoyed our meal very much and had a great time. We were treated very well, although I would not call it a "romantic setting". It is somewhat on the expensive side, so I would not recommend it for a casual night out, but it was certainly quite a good special occasion place.
Wonderful food. Frustratingly loud. Could not hear the person sitting to you.
Why is this place so popular? Food is mediocre, noise is ridiculous, you have to scream to be heard. Not the least bit enjoyable. Maybe outdoor seating would be an improvement but the food is still just okay.
The best dining experience in Baltimore. Every time! We simply love dining at Ouzo Bay.
Amazing food. One of the best overall meals I've ever had. Seemed a tad understaffed though. Would definitely come back.
Our waitress, Liz, and her assistant, Spencer, were awesome! We highly recommend Ouzo Bay to everyone. We went on Easter and had a delicious meal.
One of the best in Baltimore. The owner, Alex, makes sure that everything is perfect. The grilled fish choices are amazing and every one cooked to perfection. Service is phenomenal. Don't miss the flaming cheese appetizer. The best choice of wonderful Greek wines. Best Greek salad in Baltimore.
Great food, attentive service, LOUD dining room. Very fun atmosphere, but hard to have a conversation! Food is expensive but high quality ingredients and delicious preparation.
Absolutely wonderful dinner. Grilled fish was incredible and portions were generous. Terrific wait staff. Can't wait to go back. Worth every penny.
Enjoyed the stuff grape leaves and octopus appetizers. Had 2 different whole fish which were prepared perfectly. That was enough food for 3 people. Waitress was fun, friendly and knowledgeable about the Greek wines. Can get very loud in an energetic way. Will return.
It was my birthday and I wanted a great seafood meal with amazing wine. I got that along with superior service and a personal birthday wish from the owners. Ouzo's menu is impeccable and it's the perfect fusion of a neighborhood gem and high end dining. I can grab drinks and a low key dinner at the bar or make it a totally different experience for a special occasion. No wonder Ouzo Bay have been rated among the top places to dine in Baltimore for the last few years!
If you haven't tried it, you better!
Great atmosphere, great service, amazing food! Worth the pricey meals. Awesome Place, especially for fun date night out. We will definitely be back again.
Great location, great view and excellent service sums up Ouzo Bay. Great selection of fresh seafood and the menu is well accompanied with various Greek inspired finds. Start with the grilled octopus or the flaming cheese and you won't be disappointed.
The food is nicely prepared and presented and the service is great. That said, the prices are very high so it is a restaurant to be visited for very special occasions and celebrations.
The restaurant was very loud and tightly packed. The food was drastically over priced for the quality. My mussels were cold and small. The $30 porkchop only had the sauce on half of it. Our waitress only came to the table once to take our order. We wouldn't go back or recommend it to our friends.
The service was great but portion sizes puny. I had three courses, weigh 110lbs, and left hungry. And for what they charge, there's no excuse for that.
Always a great meal. Love to order 2 fish dishes and the lamb chops and then share everything
Our first time at this excellent restaurant. Greek inspired food, cocktails and wines/spirits. The fish they have flown in everyday from various places is the freshest available in the city. Definitely expensive, this is a special occasion venue, worth the price for the selections. The broiled octopus is a must try!
Meals were pricey, and portions average to small, but delicious. Service was outstanding.
I've been there a couple of times. Liked the food and the service both times but I am not excited about their pricing. I understand that they try to be fancy and I am okay with that, but I think they charge too much for what they give you. They should lower their prices by 30% if they want me back. I can go to other places that offer similar quality food with a similar atmosphere and pay 30% less.
Food was amazing - both Mediterranean favorites as well as some more inventive takes. Service was top notch with a team of servers that knew how to be ever present without being obtrusive. It is pretty pricey but a classic example of getting what you pay for. One word of warning: this is no stale Greek-inspired ambiance. There was techno music playing for much of the meal and the room was lively if possibly even too loud. Ask for the back room if you are looking for a slightly quieter experience.
One of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore, it never disappoints!!!
The service was outstanding. The food was also amazing. We had the grilled calamari, octopus, eggplant salad, spreads, seared scallops, and moussaka. You must have at the very least the spreads and grilled calamari or octopus. My husband's martini was perfectly prepared as specified. It is a bit pricey however you are getting what you are paying for.
We decided to go back to ouzo bay because we were at Baltimore for the American Craft Council Show, which for us is a special occasion. We arrived a bit early, and were seated immediately. Our waiter was "Johnny on the spot" Drink orders were taken, appetizers were ordered. he made a few suggestions about a new dish which had my wife very anxious to try it. I ordered a whole fish which was cooked perfectly. The dish my wife ordered was scallop, lobster tail on a risotto with a truffle foam and it was AMAZING. This is a very special restaurant.....my only complaint is that I can;t get the often enough because when I do decide that I have the time n a weekend, frequently they re booked solid. JUST LOVE IT THOUGH!
We had a reservation last Saturday night at 8 PM; had to wait in the bar for about 15-20 minutes for our table. Slightly annoying but the host/hostesses were gracious. The biggest problem was the volume of noise in the bar, which was buzzing with conversation and music. Thankfully we were not seated at one of the bar tables (you would have to yell at one another to carry on a conversation) but rather brought to a table in the back, but even there, it was nearly impossible to hear each other across the table, so the 4 of us talked in pairs to the person sitting next to us . That was unfortunate since we're long-distance friends and only see one another once a year. Partway through dinner, though, the crowd thinned out and by 10-11:00 we could actually hear one another and carry on a 4-way conversation across the table.
The food was excellent, though a tad pricey. We ordered the cheese appetizer, tuna tartar, and the grilled calamari, all of which were delectable. The calamari was particularly good. For the main dish we ordered broccolini and a whole snapper to share, and the fish was a little overcooked and mushy and barely seasoned, so that was a disappointment. Next time I'd stick with all mezzes, and I'd probably dress up a little more. Definitely a place to see and be seen!
Ouzo bay is a lively place to enjoy a great scene as well as outstanding food. It is the hot spot of the Baltimore scene. The octopus is a must!!
Enjoyed dinner with friends on a Friday night. Ordered cheese flambé, calamari as apps; then red snapper, seafood risotto, salmon and lamb chops for dinner. Each dish was absolutely delicious and beautifully plated. Kostas was our server and he offered good recommendations, along with being there when we needed him and invisible when we didn't.
Will return soon.
The food was exquisite, expensive but worth it for the occasion. Their wine list was out of this world. We sampled some new finds...my wife is a wine enthusiast to say the least. The blue hue ambiance was one of a kind...can't wait to get back to Ouzo when the weather breaks! Highly recommend.
Went for valentines day. The overall experience was not something I would not recommend. The food was mediocre, which is disappointing because the restaurant is very expensive. The restaurant is very loud which did not add to my enjoyment. The waitress was very attentive and polite, although the hostesses were not. All in all, I have had much better Greek food for much less of a price.
Our food was excellent. But the service by our server(Blanca) & the bussing service was above & beyond.
We had a great time at Ouzo Bay. The service and food were both top notch. This is one of our favorite places in Baltimore.
We love their happy hour food and specials, and we've heard great things about their entrees, so we were very hopeful in going for Valentine's Day dinner. Our group had the lamb chops, seafood risotto, chicken, and the glossa. The only entree that had ANY flavor at all was the risotto. The ambiance, and the service were amazing though, but if we were to return it would only for for the lamb meatballs, and appetizers.
Ouzo Bay never disappoints. The grilled octopus is so delicious. A must have here.
I also had the Chilean sea bass. Cooked to perfection. Service was great too. One of my favorite restaurants.
Lovely. The pililia (mixed appetizers) is fantastic). Fish is fresh, but not necessarily sustainably farm raised. The octopus and the giant prawns were both overcooked, so a little mushy... or maybe they were boiled before they were put on the charcoal grill.... in any case, they had none of that crisp texture. and the pleasant resistance associated with grilling. And too much dressing. Potatoes also overcooked and over dressed, and this goes for the overly balsamic-y burrata and the octopus, salad. Still, lovely place-- very pricey..
