I’m extremely disappointed in my experience here. The chef did not debone my fish well at all, to a point where every bite had so many bones that I could not longer bring myself to continue eating. The grilled calamari was great.
They did not ask us to refill our drinks (we had 1 drink the whole night).
The food was overpriced for not being prepared well.
Apparently the sea scallops were great, though.
We love the food at Ouzo Bay. The lobster risotto is my favorite. I looked forward to bringing out-of-town friends for brunch on a lovely day. The menu was extensive. The booth was huge. The restaurant wasn't crowded so it was quiet and we could chat easily. BUT the big disappointment - and embarrassment - was that the waitress's welcoming remark was that our friend's clothing was not acceptable. She was wearing a camouflage patterned sweater (with beautiful jewelry; designer glasses, jeans and shoes, etc.). We were all told that camouflage clothing was not allowed. She would have to cover it up. After a somewhat lengthy discussion and our stated decision to leave, she was told that this time her attire was acceptable. We stayed, but I have mixed feelings about returning.
Sunday night four of us had one of the greatest dinners ever. Everything about dinner was perfect. M
Food was to die for as always... and presented perfectly!!! Service was amazing... from the moment you step in the door to leaving, every staff member obliging, and polite!
I asked for a cocktail not listed on the menu and the waitress said "no worries, the bar man will look it up". Which he did and it was perfect!! We were served "complimentary" desert because we were celebrating our anniversary... 💍 !!! we both HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ouzo Bay for your next dine-out lll🥂
The food was absolutely delicious with a beautiful presentation. I loved the scallops! It was lovely to eat outside in spite of all of the current construction. We had a wonderful complimentary dessert for our anniversary which many other restaurants no longer offer. Great celebration dinner. It evoked memories of eating outside in Athens.
Outstanding variety of fresh fish, attentive service, fine downtown ambiance, Ouzo Bay is the perfect spot for celebrating a special occasion. Not inexpensive, the quality of the food warrants the price. The restaurant is a delight.
The price was way over the top for the tiny portions and mildly above average food taste. Won't be visiting there often. May try their happy hour and see how that is- perhaps more reasonable for the offerings.
My go to for out of town business dinners and occasional social dining.
Great Easter Brunch for two consisting of a shrimp appetizer, lamb chops, a salad, and a pastry desert with Greek coffee. The waitress noticed we were disappointed with the standard brunch menu, so brought us the dinner menu with the condition that she would need to check the availability of specific items. This is how we received our lamb chops and the waitress received a good tip. Lovely modern decor on the harbor (currently some construction in the vicinity) and a very relaxed ambiance.
Service (our waitress Doris) was excellent and attentive and the wine recommendations were outstanding- many thanks Doris! The food was well prepared and delivered at a nice pace. The ambiance was cheerful and lively. Our out of town friends from the UK enjoyed.
Overall, very good to excellent but a little overpriced such as one lamb chop per appetizer portion for $15.
Food was delicious. But our table was near two service stations, so there was a lot of foot traffic past the table. I was hit a few times with elbows as people tried to move past each other. One manager was very loud when speaking to the staff. Also briefly stopped by as robotic as possible and was gone before we could ask for new side plates.
I'm not sure why this restaurant has such good reviews. I wouldn't say the food is bad but it is so expensive that the value is below subpar. There were two of us, and we split the spanikopita, the grilled octopus, the greek salad, and the chilean sea bass. We also each had one drink. Our total bill (without tip) was $125. It was our fault for not paying close attention to the prices, and it would have certainly been worth it if the food was out of this world. But--it wasn't. The chilean sea bass, in particular, was pretty bad. There was really no seasoning and I could not finish it. The grilled octopus was good, but not worth $29. My cocktail which was quite good was $20! All told, I complain about the value of DC restaurants all the time, but this is the first time I've felt DC offers more value. I would definitely not go back.
Loud. Crowded. Not a place for a date, unless you have no desire to speak to each other.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Always good food and excellent food. They have an excellent wine list.
Terrible!!!! I was so suprised...in a bad way. A beautiful restaurant with a 5 star review and expensive prices, i thought we were in for a treat. There were 6 of us and not one person liked their food. The $50 crab and lobster risotto was under cooked. It was hard and i spit the lobster out because i could not chew it. Three of us had the roasted chicken which was tastless and one person had the steak which had gristle on each end. The service was not great. We had to constantly ask for refills and the waiter never brought our appitizer and when we asked, he said that we never ordered it. I dont recommend this restaurant.
One of the best meals we ever had!!! Celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. Wine list was excellent. Will be returning soon.
The service was excellent. The Greek salad, bread, lamb tartare and octopus to start and asparagus as a side were delicious. We ordered several whole fish to share as main dishes and unfortunately all were bland and/ or a bit overcooked. Spinach rice as a side was also bland. This may have been our mistake for not ordering more flavorful dishes to compliment one or 2 whole fish orders. I've eaten here several times and always felt spoiled by the staff. But the space is LOUD, even when it doesn't seem especially crowded.
Great meal great service didn't think it was that expensive nice place to go downtown
Jerry our waiter was terrific. wonderful food and drinks
This is the second time I've been here. The first time was two years ago. I was very happy to find that the food was just as delicious as it was two years ago. I will be come back to this place again.
Excellent food ! Excellent service ! What more could you ask for ?
Good food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. I loved picking my fresh fish from the case. So yummy and healthy. Grilled healthy vegetable side. The grilled calamari was great. The house made spreads were good but didn’t knock our socks off. Too full for dessert. I would definitely recommend.
Really great Greek meal. The Mythos Beer went great with everything.
We headed to Ouzo Bay for a Saturday brunch. Our reservation was for more than an hour after the stated opening time. The doors were locked, and no diners were inside. The host staff stood at the podium and watched us rattle the doors and look for another entrance without greeting us or letting us in (or politely turning us away). There was no signage indicating a closing, or alternative entrance. Why accept reservations if you aren't open?
Best Greek food I have had in a very long time. Definitely going back with my girlfriend the next time in Baltimore, MD. If you love excellent quality Greek food this is the spot to go. Great wine selection and cocktails. Worth every dollar you spend.
I did not think the food was very good with the exception of the zucchini chips. The food was just ok but did not match what I expect for a restaurant in this price range. Also the portions were very small. The seafood was fresh. The atmosphere was great though and the service superb.
The food was deliciously prepared and the wait staff was excellent.
Good food. Really good service. Felt a bit rushed. To pricey to have it be a rushed experience.
Hit Ouzo up every trip to Baltimore. Love the food and service. The team are always polite and helpful. Service is quick but not pushy. There is not feel of being rushed. Small tables are not ignored for larger group tables. If you wish to linger, they are happy for your to do so. Food is lush and flavorful and the choices are extensive. Will definitely be back! Doris our server was great.
Great food! Great service! A little noisy because there was a party of about 20 women in the bar. But other than that food is excellent as always. I had the grilled octopus which was exceptional. Our experience has always been exceptional! One of our favorite restaurants!!
Increíble si te gustan los mariscos dale la oportunidad de visitar este restaurante la calidad y el servicio esta para volver y volver
The food was extremely good and the service was incredible. The server was attentive and friendly. Top marks to chef and food staff for a great meal with strong bold flavors. Truly recommend for a great brunch.
This is the first time I went to Ouzo Bay for brunch. We got there around 10:45am and it was surprisingly quiet. The food was fantastic - lamb gyro, omelette, spreads, spanakopita, dessert...are very good. Blood Mary's were delicious. Service was excellent as always.
Valentine’s Day dinner
The service was on point for the most part but the entree took a long time to come out and when my fish did arrive it was room temperature and I asked the server Liz how long had it been waiting she said it was brought right out and I told her it was room temperature and a piece of the fish was raw and I showed her and she stated she was not cooking the food which I did not understand that statement and she never brought a manager over I was going to pay and did pay for it and tipped her well which is why I thought she was hesitant to bring a manager over but to spend just under $300 for a dinner and not be satisfied with the handling of the situation not good.
Our first visit to Ouzo Bay, but not our last. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. Service was excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions. Food was excellent, including desserts.
Absolutely Exquisite! Fine Dining at its finest. Greek meals were perfect for the Greek gf from Rhodes :)
The atmosphere was great, it's a really cool place. The tuna and sea bass were excellent. The server explained the menu to us like we couldn't read though.
The display fish was not fresh. We ordered black bass and red snapper, they had no flavor. The best part of the meal was the bread.
