Outpost at the Goodland

Had incredible dinner service, food and ambiance. My wife had ramen on a Sunday night and I was jealous! Must go too and seating on patio was great.
The menu and drink selection are exciting so we couldn't wait to try several items. The waitstaff are accommodating and attentive. There was a minor incident that was immediately rectified so we were very grateful for their hospitality and attention. We would love to come back and try other dishes.
Fried cauliflower and aioli was great and enough for 4. Seabass lettuce wraps were tasty but messy
Had a wonderful time, great environment and the food was amazing! Was pleasantly surprised with their burratta. Just wow!
We love this “little jewel” in Goleta! Our forth visit, as usual everything was just lovely. The food was great, specialty cocktails innovative and fun, service absolutely awesome. Special kudos to our Sever, Adam, who made the evening extra-delightful.
We had a nice relaxing dinner at the Outpost. Food was served quickly, presented beautifully, and was exactly as ordered. Outside seating was comfy too.
It was our first time at Outpost, and it won’t be the last!
Fantastic food and cocktail menu, we had a blast.
Luis was a delight... Extremely attentive to details and very personable yet not intrusive, he made our experience memorable.
Keep up the good job and we’ll see you soon on our next visit to SB!
Great spot for dinner before a show at Campbell Hall. Kimpton Properties are always fun. We enjoyed dinner on the patio at the Goodland. Creative cocktails and delicious food.
The food was very good but the service was horrible.
Very pleasant patio dining with good service and good kale salad w. salmon as well as terrific burger.
The food was great! Really nice flavors, and not too expensive. Fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Main dishes are great, but desserts except for ice cream are poor.
Excellent Food and Service in a wonderful restaurant. Food and Service was quick and very helpful. this is a place that I would highly recommend.
Good solid dining experience from cocktails thru meal. Steak tartar is daughters favorite plate to share. have never been here when its really been crowded...so, hard to imagine it not being a pleasant experience or not being able to speak in a normal voice. Service is good.
Good food good service
We were visiting Santa Barbara and this is the first restaurant we tried. We did not realize it was inside a hotel. It appears to be a good spot for meeting after work. The menu had a good mix of “bar food” and dinner menu, American, Asian, Italian. We started with the Brussels sprouts. The roasted garlic aioli took the edge off the bitterness os the sprouts. I opted for the pork bao bun and paired it with one of their cocktails. The bun was nice and soft as it should. My daughter had the special, braised veal with polenta (silky texture, yum), and hubby had the pork chops. All were very tasty but somewhat heavy handed on the salt (request to lighten up on the salt). We also tried the fried carrot cake with white chocolate and cream cheese and ice cream. Should have left the carrot cake un-fried. Paired dessert with the Zinfandel port. Overall, had a good time. We will consider going back when in town again.
Food and drinks were excellent. Room was cold and a bit noisy though.
Lovely flavors and super cool server. I keep coming back.
The ambiance of this place is adorable! We sat outside, where there were fire pits and cute lighting. We loved the vibe of the place!
Service was terrific. We ordered mostly small bites from the app menu and while delicious, many of the dishes were very spicy and I like spice. We ate outside, and as the evening chilled they turned on the gas heaters and it was lovely.
Food was wonderful and creative. Service was pretty okay. Nice enough server but delivered to us someone else’s order. Simple enough mistake. Only real complaint was that there was a gentleman smoking on the patio which was most unpleasant. We spoke to our server who then mentioned it to the manager who happened to be at the next table. As far as we could tell, nothing was said to the gentleman as he finished his cigarette and returned to his table.
Unexpected pleasure. Excellent, imaginative California/fusion menu.
We went to dinner and came back the hot day for lunch.
Terrific flavorful vegi appetizers, just right fish tacos, moist and flaky, not needing heavy sauce Asian inspired sea bass lettuce wraps with herbs, ridiculously good pork chop.
I am not into distressed look, but this place does the beach shack retro vibe so well that I bought in.
Birthday and so much fun! Our waiter was the best!
Just ok- very limited menu
No specials- no soup
Probably won’t return
I can't say enough GOOD things about the service and attention we received! The food was amazing and the menu presented easily for us to "just keep on trying great new things".
This visit was for a group dine of 10 ... I look forward to coming back for an intimate dinner for 2 next time.
I want to love this place but the slowness of the service and food always becomes a problem. I’m not sure why either. Servers don’t seem happy. But also don’t seem to be too attentive. Consistently happens over and over. And there has been no guarantee the food will not be burnt or prepared wrong when it shows up. I am taking a break from it for a few months.
So retro and vibrant. Very comfortable and inviting. I noticed they're dog friendly too!
A real find in Goleta. Lots of vegetarian options. Delicious.
The food is delicious. I've liked everything I've tried!
Despite booking online and phoning to explain a delay, the hostess took forever to find us a seat outside. She was young and looked lost, likely a student and a bit clueless. The seats were very hard and it was so dark that we could hardly see our food.
Our waitress was excellent and the food was good.
Breakfast was a much better experience and again our waiter was excellent. And I could see my food which was a real bonus thanks to daylight. But seat are really too hard. Think on that one!
Food orders were wrong and forgotten, never got my drink, server never checked in with us. Mind you it was not busy there were three tables full in the whole restaurant. Food was just okay. This was our third time eating here, first breakfast, then tried lunch and most recently dinner. Same experience each time. Its a good place for happy hour or drinks while enjoying the pool, other then that it’s not worth it.
Wonderful, creative menu and great cocktails! Outdoor dining was delightful and service was excellent as well.
When first arriving at Outpost, the A/C was blowing cold air too strong. We had to be reseated to another table.
There were some gaps in server attentiveness when we needed something.
I had terrible acid reflex followed by nausea in middle of night after eating guacamole and lamb burger. The burger was cooked medium well, so I do not think it was undercooked meat at fault.
We were seated promptly and initially the service was great. The server brought us water and took our order promptly. Our food came within a reasonable time. The food was prepared nicely and the presentation was good. Then it all ended... no one came to check on us for about 30 minutes until someone came and cleared our plates. We waited and still no sight of our server. I got up and asked the hostess for our check... still nothing, our server was MIA. Finally, the manager brought over our check and cashed us out. I did see our server on the way out and we exchanged pleasantries.
Limited menu with almost no gluten free options and the few they had they were out of. After being told they didn't have the first two things I ordered I asked the waiter for some help finding something as I have Celiac's and he seemed to get annoyed and didn't return to help us much after that. The food our family got was just ok. So I wouldn't really recommend the place. Its ok and if you are at the hotel it is a nice outdoor location and if you don't have any food restrictions its not bad but its not amazing and I wouldn't go out of your way to eat here.
All the food was tasty but service was lacking. Had to ask for share plates for appetizers. When food was brought to table it was thrown down without saying what it was. Also, had to ask twice to get water. Overall the food was great!
The service was great and the staff were ver, very friendly. I would go back just because the staff were so sweet and accommodating. The menu had some interesting options which were very tasty including the specialty cocktails.
The challenge is that the restaurant is hard to find and there are no signs pointing you to the destination and while the patio is pet friendly it was also evident that the restaurant was pretty casual about dogs as I had one sitting on the bench next to me and I didn’t appreciate that too much.
I would go back but it is difficult to find and you better like sharing your space with a pooch.
I eat here every time I visit my student at UCSB. Best restaurant in Goleta and great value for dining in SB area. They are also super accommodating to dietary restrictions. Nice Vibe and excellent food. Good drink menu too!
It was well worth the money. Not fancy, food was excellent. Will be going back soon.
Menu great—food and cocktails yummy but think they need to mop the tile floor a little more frequently.
