Out of the Fire Ratings and Reviews
Food was good. Ambiance is unimpressive. They are trying to make ambiance better with art and drape that separate door from dining area but the space is not interesting.
I don't think the value is good. We (two of us) spent $100. I had one beer and two apps. My hubby had 1.5 pint of beer, an app and an entree. I think $100 is a bit steep for a bistro for what we had.
My husband had the green curry and I had the scallops, both dishes were a culinary experience! Lots of flavors and absolutely delicious. Next time we are going to ask to sit in the back, maybe by the kitchen or in the wingback chairs. We loved how friendly staff was and quiet the restaurant was.
As usual, the menu was interesting with variations on common themes. I had a spicy brussels sprouts dish as an appetizer and an unusual though excellent seafood stew as my entree. Amy, as always, was warm and welcoming. The only disappointment was the new blue paint on the walls which seemed too cool for an "out of the fire" ambience. Please bring back those warm Tuscan colors that made the restaurant feel so cozy, enveloping and sparked conversation as well as appetite.
There were three of us and the consensus was - we will be back again most definitely!.
The uniqueness of the various foods defined our wonderful experience. From the martinis the two ladies had, and the Sauvignon blanc I ordered, to the Smoked potatoes and the Meze appetizers, to the mussels and the Seafood Stew entrees....All of which we found tastefully enjoyable.
Our sever was knowledgeable, helpful and happily engaging. We give Any many kudos for her choice of chefs and their menu.
See you soon,
Sherry, Patricia and Nathan
Very good food and great service. The green curry with pork and duck was outstanding . Just the right amount of spice and heat.
The lazanya was good but not great. The down side was the wine list which was largely unknown wines and their special selections all priced too high.
A fantastic friendly spot! The cuisine is so original, creative and authentic. Most ingredients are local, farm to table, and organic. The owner and the staff are always friendly, courteous, and professional. Many of the dishes are cooked in the wood fire stove which adds a great flavor to the dishes. Even many of the cocktails use organic liquor in ingredients. The ambience is bright but calm, and often, the artwork is available for purchase by the patrons, and changes frequently. It’s a wonderful spot!
Out of the Fire was a real surprise! Although the menu and wine list is small each item is crafted with selected for excellence and value. If we lived here this would be our “go to” restaurant. If it were in San Francisco, where we are from, it would be a must have reservation.
Out of the fire did a great job. The service was timely but not overbearing. The food was terrific. I love a good steak and the the one I got at Out of the fire was one of the top three best I have ever had. The food proportions were also great. Nothing was wasted. Some places try to cover mediocrity with huge amounts of food. This was not the case at Out of the Fire. I am looking very much forward to our next visit.
I love this place and its creative food, warm atmosphere, great art displays, intimate feeling. I convinced a friend that we needed to go here, she hedged and then raved about "out of the fire" and didn't want to leave! She loved the wine menu and the wine she ordered. I will return!
Once again I had an excellent lunch, this time a blackened catfish sandwich on homemade bread that was coated in a great spread. It was so good I think I could have eaten a second one, but I decided not to be a glutton. The service is fast and friendly and the changing art on the walls by local artists is a big plus.
We had our usual excellent experience at Out of the Fire. The innovative menu, reasonable prices, local sourcing, friendly and efficient service make it our default choice for a pleasant evening. How can you not like a restaurant whose take home pizza boxes say: "Eat well. Be well. Give back."?
We travel to the Eastern Shore a couple of times each year. When we are in the St. Michaels/Easton area, we always go to Out of the Fire. The food is always delicious. We always get a margherita pizza, whether we go at lunch or dinner. This time was a quick lunch on the way home from our Delaware beach vacation. We brought the pizza home for dinner. This is one of the very best restaurants in the area.
The food is consistently delicious and fresh. We try to visit the Eastern Shore a few times each year and we always plan at least one meal at Out of the Fire. We would eat there more often if we lived closer! This time I tried the pizza for the first time and I was not disappointed. The crust was thin and crispy and the goat cheese, tomatoes, and herb oil were a great combination. We will visit again soon!
Our first visit and it was sensational. One of us is gluten intolerant and the pizza, with a gluten-free dough, was the best we have ever had. Everything about our dinner was terrific: service, wine list, food, ambiance. We are searching for an excuse to drive back to Easton for another meal, even though it is well over an hour in each direction.
Appetizers Of grilled calamari and Thai crab salad were outstanding. The pizza was good but not the best that I have had. The mussels were ok but I wasn't wild about the broth. The desert was good but not outstanding
The vodka was enjoyable I especially love the thin rimmed martini glasses!!
I plan to return to this restaurant
What a great experience. My wife is on a severely restricted diet and it is difficult to find a place to eat out that can cater to her restrictions. The Out of the Fire server worked with us and the kitchen prepared a delicious dish for her that she could actually eat! And I had the most excellent maze plate Ive ever tasted. We were very impressed and will surely be back soon.
