Otto's Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Ottos is a hidden gem. Food is always excellent and the bar is a great place to grab a drink before dinner. It was a little noisy on Saturday night but most of the time it’s an easy place to talk around the table. We always say we need to come back more often because the food is always great. They were doing a prisoner wine company special so that is always a bonus!
This was our first visit to Otto's. The structure is a charming old farm house which provides a wonderful atmosphere. The drinks and food were very good. I had a steak which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the Sea Bass which was also wonderful. Our server was outstanding and added to our wonderful experience. Highly recommend you try this hidden little gem.
The food and service is always excellent. This weeks tasting menu featured an octopus salad and cassoulet which my husband ordered. He said it was excellent. It. Was. Nice to see the octopus salad as it was a new and very good dish. I had the New York strip which was perfectly rare.. the addition of onion straws was a good choice. The pumpkin. Cheesecake was delicious, more like a mousse and should remain on the menu. This is a great restaurant and is our go to standby
Otto's is an old favorite of ours. We had discerning out of town friends who are used to 'fine dining' & we wanted to impress them for Alumni Homecoming at the UW. They were very impressed with the staff, food, and atmosphere. Special mention has to go to our host Dave & our server Quinn. They both go out of the way to make you feel like old friends visiting them again. The menu is inspiring, fresh, and delicious!
A cozy atmosphere in a multi level old house. Menu has a Mediterranean bent...very tasty...and healthy, too. Steak and seafood selections as well. Our waitress had just the right level of attentiveness, friendliness and fun sense of humor. She recommended bread pudding for dessert and it was scrumptious!
Great food, service. Unfortunately, I picked a night after a Badger game- and the noise level was higher than I wanted for our anniversity dinner. It was great for the first half-hour but then a group of fans decided to loudly share their colorful language......lesson learned. Apparently, my wife was not impressed so the evening ended early.....
GREAT atmosphere, service and food. I'm looking at this as an option for dinner after my sons college graduation. The only complaint I would have is that the noise level was terrible. My son and I were trying to have a conversation and it was so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves. So with my larger group for the after graduation dinner, that would be my only concern.
Everything was absolutely perfect. They more than accommodated one wheelchair guest and the service was impeccable. The food was outstanding. We had the hummus appetizer and it was a large quantity. Everyone had something different including 2 tasting menus, pasta, duck, steak, scallops and fish. It was certainly a memorable night!
Friendly and efficient staff. I ordered this scallops with risotto. 3 very large diver scallops were nicely seared on the outside. Done to perfection. My husband had the tasting menu with wine. The mussel and skate wing entre good with the exception of the skate wing cheeks which were tasteless. The lobster corn bisque was also very good and the chocolate gelato should always be on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant
We went for the tasting menu which was very good. Chef Karl Granberg never disappoints. They know our favorite table and always reserve it for us. All of the waitstaff are very professional and courteous. We always ask for Quin who is our favorite. The scallops are done to perfection. Never overdone. The kofte is excellent as is the tomato bisque. This is a solid restaurant that never disappoints. During the summer they have live jazz on the deck and year around offer a chefs tasting menu with wine pairing. These are dishes that never appear on the regular menu. Worth going for.
Was pleasantly surprised. We had the chef's menu with the wine pairings. The appetizer, main entree and dessert were all good and I was truly impressed with the wine's that were paired with each. The chef did a good job. Also, we didn't think that $30 for appetizer, entree and dessert was a bad price and with the pairing only $15 more.
Our server was good. While the location is nice and the outdoor patio area is fun for outdoor dining, the food itself was mediocre and overpriced. It was very expensive for what it was. The Caesar salads were watery and dressing was very poor and tasteless. The duck was overcooked and mashed potatoes were mushy. The salmon dish was just okay and the spinach with it was watery and overcooked and had no flavor. I was very disappointed in the cost, over $100 with tip for a disappointing meal.
