Otoro Sushi is my "go to" place in SF for wonderful sushi. Very fresh, great service, nice small restaurant. Pricing is very reasonable for the great quality. I have also had the cooked Japanese food and found it to be excellent as well.
super fresh, creative sushi, great atmosphere, friendly host
I enjoy Sushi ice cold but if you like yours room temperature and overpriced than this is the place for you.
Great food!! A bit loud...
A total neighborhood gem. Fresh fish flown in from Tokyo and a memorable grilled eggplant w miso!
The best sushi in the US! The fish is amazing quality and the service is always great.
Perfect pre-ballet dining! Always fresh and yummy, with very attentive service and excellent menu. Fish from Japan excellent, also California sourced fish excellent, too. Great place that keeps quality the most important item--have eaten here for years!
Great hamachi special w/ truffle oil. Sushi was fresh and succulent.
This was some of the most overpriced sushi I have ever had. Sushi is expensive by its nature, and this one just went over the top. If it have been inventive and delicious, I would not have minded. But the food quality was mediocre at best, and tasteless as worst.
The sashmi was wonderfully fresh and expertly presented. There was an outstanding selection of sake and the service was quick and very attentive to all our needs. This restaurant shot to the top of my list of favorites and I will definitely be back.
Love the food but it was freezing inside and people kept hitting the button to open door over and over. Maybe relocate the automatic door opener where people don’t wait?
Very professional and attentive service. Tasty and creative specials with many different choices to make up a unique meal.
Hamachi carpaccio was outstanding!
Toro wasn't as good this evening. It's good but not like the ones you have in Japan. It lacks the natural sweetness.
Pork Belly, normally my fav, was a little on the sweet side.
Miso eggplant is very good.
Still will definitely come back though.
The sushi was great! Very fresh. Also had Nabeyaki Soba which was a little disappointing. Very sparse on substantive contents. Was mostly noodles and broth. Needs more of the other ingredients.
Otherwise service was great and our reservation got us past the queue immediately,
Amazing sushi and friendly service!
The rainbow roll was good, but the veg tempura roll was not. The silver saki sampler was fine.
Had pre-theatre meal here with the wife and was not disappointed. One of the better sushi restaurants we've been to. Restaurant is small but lively on a Saturday evening. Everything we've had was excellent. The nigiri was fresh and some of the fish are straight from Japan (see the specials board). For appetizer, I went for the Agedashi Tofu and Shiitake Tsumire. For sushi, I had the Otoro, Hon-Maguro (Bluefin Tuna), Hamachi and Saba nigiri. Also had the Otoro special roll which was delicious! Wife also had the Tempura Udon which was flavorful. Everything was reasonably priced as our bill came out to just over $100, which included a bottle of Sake! No complaints about service as our waitress was attentive and friendly. Would definitely come here again when we're in the area.
Wish you had a happy hour!!! We would come everyday!!
Pretty basic sushi place. Great service but nothing exceptional about food. Zero ambiance
So good the first time I went back the following week and I live 1.5 hours away. The quality of the fish is high and the service is great. Lots of energy in the room.
Good restaurant food was good service was quick all around good experience.
Consistent, fresh and delicious for years that’s ! that’s why I keep going back even though I don’t live in the neighborhood anymore. I’ll still hop in a cab and go across town to this place.
Extremely ordinary. Fine, nothing wrong exactly, but hardly worth a special trip
Quick service, friendly staff, decent food. Would recommend to people in the area
Good food quality. $25 corkage is way too high for this place . Used to be $10
We have been going to Otoro for the past four years. Consistently good, although this time our service was a bit off with some forgotten items. Prices seem to have inched a bit higher and fish slices have gotten a bit thinner but it is still a nice place to come when enjoying a dining experience in the city.
Good warm cozy place. Perfect ambience to get together with old friends.
Amazing fresh sushi, with incredible flavors! The service was great and the dish recommendations were spot on. The noise level was a bit difficult to have a quiet conversation but the experience makes up for it. I will be returning again!
always flavorful and fresh.
I will return soon.
Not what I expected for the price. The fish wasn't as fresh and the rolls were under whelming. Pretty bland experience.
Hands down my favorite sushi place in SF! Jimmy adds a level of fantastic personalized service which makes there high end and creative sushi even more enjoyable.
Very good food
Service was just ok
Got loud after place started filling up
Overpriced for subpar sushi.
Service is off. Not enough attention to tables or dedicated servers per table. Host is not just attentive, friendly. "Just business" attitude.
I wouldn't go back.
Especially since I had mentioned when making my reservation that it was my bf's birthday dinner. Nothing special at all. I felt bad for it not being as special as it could've been.
The food and service were amazing.
the food / service is very good. watch out for the accumulation of costs...
This is a regular stop for me and my family.
Delicious dinner and sushi!
Fabulous sushi - especially the daily specials
Service was terrible
Wide menu not just Sushi and Sashimi. If you go try the Egg Plant!
