Small place, but delicious rolls and appetizers at fair prices.
Excellent sushi creations and sake flights! Casual setting and a good ambience. Would recommend.
We arrived at 9:45 placed our order and after our first dish was was delivered we were told the kitchen was closing so we should order anything else right then. They should not accept late reservations if they don’t intend to stay open. We were rushed and left after about 40 minutes. Not the leisurely late dinner we expected.
We enjoyed everything. Will go back again and recomment it.
Great date spot. The sushi was good and there is a good selection of vegetarian rolls. Service was solid as well
I really enjoyed my meal at Otoro. Very quality sushi - the chef's nigiri selection was by far the best dish. The price tag was a little surprising at the end, but not out of the ordinary for a good quality sushi place in SF
Food was very good. Service was friendly but slow, and I don’t think that was just a food prep thing, even getting the check back took around 15 minutes. Nice outdoor seating with heaters.
Glad to have outdoor dining, table a bit close together tho. There were other parklet’s not being used, I would have felt more comfortable with tables spaced out further. Food and sake very good as was the service.
We love this place. Great sushi and friendly service. A neighborhood gem!
We love the quality of the sushi at Otoro. It is consistently delicious. The service is exceptional with Jimmy and his team going out of their way to ensure we feel comfortable and our every need is met. We will return again and again. We are just SO HAPPY this neighborhood gem survived. <3
Fantastic service. Delicious sushi. Nice ambiance.
We were visiting SF and we wanted to have sushi. Based on our search and reading reviews we found this restaurant and we were all happy about our decision.
The sushi and rolls were all delicious, the ingredients were quite fresh and nicely prepared.
It was a cozy place for a casual dine out with a small group of friends or the family. Not a fancy place though if you want to impress your date.
We dined here as a family and it was all fine.
The food was average and they take a while to get your order.
Even though we had a reservation, we were asked to wait about half an hour. I started to think NOT having a reservation would have had any difference because by the time we were seated, half the restaurant had their food and left already.
If you do not mind their poor reservation handling skills and getting irritated because of it, their sushi selection, and appetizers were delicious!! And the waitress was very kind, fast.
Jimmy has a great restaurant with quality fish, great staff and terrific service.
Consistently one of the best sushi places in San Francisco with quality fish and quality presentation without being overly fussy, complicated or pretentious. The staff there are so nice and so friendly and it’s so great to see them come through the pandemic still the same great restaurant. An absolute favorite!
Great neighborhood sushi place for casual dining, friendly staff, and good food
Loved the food and the outdoor area is spacious with lots of heat lamps. Both ramen and sushi were good but I think the rolls were very unique and delicious.
The salt smoked salmon special was delicious as well as everything else
The service was excellent and the food was amazing. You could tell they take pride in their food quality and service. It was very clean and had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. A really great experience our first time in SF!
High quality, great service and solid Sake selection.
Great sushi and tapas - Otoro remains utterly delicious and consistent with an amazing Menu :-)
We were running late and they were able to accommodate us and seat us as soon as we arrived! Great service and food.
We had a reservation at 8 and were told to wait after a few inquiries. We got our table at 8.20 and by 9.30 they were bringing us the check without even asking for it. We were kicked out because there were people waiting at that time.
The food is ok. The rolls bring only 6pcs but ok the fish and sauces. It is not traditional Japanese, it was a mix.
We were seated outside, which was nice since they have heaters. But the noise, even outside, is almost unbearable. I couldn’t listen to what my partner was saying and he was just across me.
This is a hoppin' little gem. A lot of outside seating, the staff was very helpful and kind. I had made a reservation but they will not seat you until your entire party is there. Even though my friend was late and were seating other tables and walk ups, they still kept an eye on us and made a point to seat us right when my friend arrived. They were busy! A lot of options food wise. Would go back again.
A little overrated restaurant. Food was good, not exceptional. Some of the rolls, were not well formed. The premises are not nice, and the waiter was in a big hurry to present us with the check, as soon as she found out, we were not asking for more food.
Outdoor seating is cute but smells bad. Food and service was great! The yuzu sake was so tasty
Great food great variety great gear service great price point
Really great sushi. Like to go before the symphony.
There was a special, seared salmon, on a scallop, on a slice of cucumber. This was very good, but the seared salmon was utterly exceptional.
We have always enjoyed everything about Otoro. Our first dine-in choice after pandemic.
An amazing restaurant with great customer service and wonderful custom rolls.
Get the pork belly! You won't be sorry. This was our first visit and we sat outside. All of the staff was masked, courteous, and efficient. Our food was delicious and a good value. We will definitely be back!
We have been coming here for a few years. The food is delicious and creative and the staff friendly and attentive. Since we don't live in SF, we had not been here since last year due to the closure of the symphony season. We were very glad to be back and also to experience outdoor dining here for the first time.
Host was strange about a couple wanting a table between them and other guests be left unseated. Seems strange for such a small restaurant to lose a whole table of business to accommodate a random couple, but won’t be returning because of this. Food was decent. Service was acceptable.
Great local neighborhood sushi spot. Clean, fresh fish, and very kind and attentive staff. It's reliable and delicious. I usually go for two rolls, and 7-10 nigiri pieces (for two people). Highly recommend, perfect spot pre-opera or pre-symphony
Food was fresh and well prepared. Loved everything about this restaurant. Will definitely come back.
I went here 5 years ago and it was amazing but in my recent visit, I was hoping it would be the same but it sadly wasn’t. The food was very bland, expensive and definitely not worth the money. The fried dishes tasted as if they were cooked in old oil and were very soggy. Sad to see the quality dip so much for this once good spot.
Booked and secured a good table last minute while in SF. Tasty dishes at reasonable cost.
Really good quality sushi, used to go there 5 years ago and the quality is still as good as it used to be if not better.
