Oswego Grill - Wilsonville
What a great atmosphere! With guests we had several questions about the menu. The waitress provided accurate, in-depth recommendations.
My wife and I enjoy eating out and we have noticed significant price increases in many of the more formal Portland area restaurants. The Oswego Grill is a rare, pleasant exception. They have some well prepared gourmet dishes and they also have "comfort food" that is very affordable. Just check out the menu in advance and you will see that this is true. Because this is a popular, well run restaurant I would recommend you make reservations. I think no restaurant is perfect, and if I could change anything I would tell them that their French fries need to be crisper. However, I would share that same information with 90% of the restaurants that serve fries.
Just not satisfied this was my second attempt to dine at this restaurant and sadly disappointed again
Consistently fantastic service and food! Our favorite restaurant for up-scale ambience and sophisticated menu items. Front of house staff is attentive and efficient ~ always providing little extra items or service. If you know anything about professional cooking ~ watch the cooks and Sous Chef(s) work the dinner sittings ~ organized, on-time, coordinated, cares about the food!
Always a great experience ~ get the fresh donut dessert!!!
Valentines day is always extremely busy, and we were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. this particular location is larger than the one in L.O. so there is very little space to wait in, however we were in and out within an hour.
My Valentine's Day experience at Oswego Grill was one of the best experiences I've had yet. I already love the atmosphere of the place, but during Valentine's, it just gets better. You are given a rose when you walk in the door, great service and food (as normal), and then at the end, they give you chocolate covered strawberries. How awesome right?! Highly recommend them to anyone.
Food was wonderful, service was great, and ambiance was terrific.
Great Place. Food was really good and service was excellent. It was my wife's birthday and the birthday dessert was awesome! Would definitely recommend Oswego Grill.
Two of our meals were great, but the steelhead trout was not very good. Waiter was not very good, not sure if he was new or scattered...
good meeting with great food and many choices
The food is always very good. My current favorites are the stuffed chicken breast, the grilled trout, and the brussel sprout salad. My sister loves the blackened salmon Caesar salad. I think my family had tried just about everything on the menu and it’s it all good.
The waitor, Damion (if my old memory serves me correctly) was great. Food was excellent and entire restaurant was great. Going again in the near future
I love this place and brought my work team here to celebrate a birthday. We did have to ask what happened to our meal because it took over 45 minutes to get it served. Being the middle of the work day, that meant we had to eat very fast. However, once we inquired both our waiter and the onsite manager were very apologetic and attentive and the food is always very good. I would suggest something - could you possibly make smaller portions for lunch? American consumption is way too much and it would be so nice to have smaller portions especially at this noon meal. Half salads and half sandwiches would be great!
We always enjoy our meals here and Jorge is amazing!!
Good food, pretty loud however. Tables close together makes the noise worse.
I took my mother to Oswego grill which is her favorite restaurant she turned 93 today It was the most horrible experience. And I had to pay for it
Sent her food back three times
I was done eating before she finally got her food and it still wasn’t cooked right. I mean it’s a hamburger
Sorry to say it’s not what it used to be.
So I’ve been here twice. Once for a company dinner and then with my husband. During the company party, it took forever to get our food. I was starving, I literally ate whatever appetizer they set down. I had ordered the pot pie, but unfortunately they ran out. Supposedly it was amazing, and I was bummed to have missed out. So I ordered the fried chicken. It was not good. The potatoes and bread were great, but the chicken just wasn’t good at all. Came with my hubby and we decided to come early, as to not allow them time to run out of the pot pie. The waitress, who was amazing, on top of it, attentive, friendly and not fake (we know this waitresses, this one was sincere) Amanda....said they had run out, but if I wanted to wait, I could get one. I said “yes! I will wait.” Sadly, it was not worth the wait. The crust was thin and literally had globs of pepper in piles on top, which made it so gross. I realized there was no chicken, but wanted to try it anyway. It was like water with huge pieces of onion, celery, carrots (that weren't fully cooked), a thousand peas and maybe 8 pieces of prime rib. No potatoes???? Seriously? This should not even be called a pot pie, and I feel the recipe should be tweaked a whole lot....The only part that had crust, was the Extremely thin top, nothing underneath or on the sides. It was like eating, spicy, watered down broth, with incredibly gross insides. I was not happy with having to wait for that. Luckily I ordered the artichoke and spinach dip, which is absolutely amazing. I should’ve just ate that for my meal. After 2 for 2 of the food not being good, unfortunately we won’t be back. Maybe to grab some spinach and artichoke dip, but that would be it. I wish the service matched the food. It was also way too dark. It’s a bit much. Service and server were amazing. They did take off the pot pie charge, so they did try and make it right. If the service and management matched the food, this place would be excellent. Just being honest!
As usual Oswego Grill did a great job. The service was superb and the entire staff was great. Friendly, efficient, fast. Thanks!!
Had a reservation for 6:15; had to wait for 40 min for our table on a Sunday night. Hostess went on break, her back up waited until she returned to seat anyone.
Once seated, waited 10 min for anyone to address us.
Had to ask for water 5 times
We are regular visitors to Oswego Grill and are usually quite happy. Our last visit on New a years Eve and we were disappointed. Service was erratic - our salads were delivered before our cocktails arrived to our table, we had to request bread rather than having it offered, entrees were disappointing (pot pie was soupy, which it generally is not), the chicken was overcooked, asparagus limp and overcooked), we ordered the fresh made cookies, waiting they advised 20 mins only to have them served cold and overcooked. Adding insult to injury, we ordered Baileys and coffee and the shot of Baileys was paltry. Upon complaint they served a slight bit more. In general a disappointment and far below their usual standards.
We went on NYE, reservations were at 4:15pm, and the restaurant was essentially empty, but I know the rush would be coming. The stuffed chicken was beyond over cooked, (like black on most parts) and super chewy. It also took 20 minutes to get our water after we asked (we drank 2 refills of strawberry lemonade in no time since we were so thirsty. We have gone to the Lake Oswego location probably about 15 times and have ordered the stuffed chicken every time, so we know what to expect. It’s the same every single time at that location - perfection. Was not perfection tonight. Not sure if it’s the location, or an off night. But I won’t be coming back to this location to find out.
We have used Oswego Grill on numerous occasions for family gatherings during the holidays. I made my reservation early to be sure we could get in Christmas Eve. When we arrived at 2:45 for our 3:00 reservation, my dad happened to notice a banner that showed photos from the restaurant and at the bottom, 12" from the floor, he noticed that the restaurant would be closing at 4:00. I asked the hostess if that was correct, and she said yes. I clarified that this meant they were not going to accept any more seating after 4:00 and she confirmed that, stating, "When you're done, you're done." Okay. I felt a little better. My 87-year-old dad was a little concerned because he doesn't do anything fast. We were seated a little early and it was probably 15 minutes before our server came to the table. Drink orders taken, wrong wine brought to me (pinot gris vs. pinot noir), but my daughter would drink the white, and the red was brought to me. After we ordered food, the server came over and asked if we wanted anything else from the bar - it was closing. We ordered another round. Food came. Food was good. My father has dessert after every dinner. I had promised my 3-year-old grandson a treat after he ate his cheeseburger, which he did. When we asked about dessert, the server said the kitchen was closed. My husband went across the parking lot and got a cake pop from Starbucks for our grandson to have in the car. Dad got bupkiss. Clearly, this was a misunderstanding on hours. HOWEVER, I received two reservation reminders for this seating and not one time did it mention that the restaurant was closing at 4:00. No information from the restaurant was forthcoming when I made the reservation. Had I known of the closing time, I could have made different accommodations. We felt hurried. I'm disappointed because this was a holiday and it kind of soured the celebratory spirit. Numerous cars arrived as we were leaving, not knowing the place was closed.
We had a reservation for 3p.m. Christmas Eve for a party of five. Two of our meals were under cooked and had to be sent back. A third meal was cold and my salad was drenched in salad dressing. Also the restaurant was out of the turkey dinner entree which three people in our group had attempted to order.
We finished with our meals at 4:15 p.m. and we’re told we could not order dessert because the restaurant was closed. We had no way of knowing when we made the reservation that the restaurant was closing at 4:00. So we were forced to leave without being allowed to complete our Christmas dinner.
It was clear to everyone in our party that staff was in a mood to close up and go home. Meals were under cooked and prepared without thought. I ordered the king salmon and got the aforementioned salad drenched in balsamic vinaigrette. I can truly state that there was nothing remarkable about my meal. I’m not much of a cook but even I could have easily duplicated my meal at home
The only good thing about our dining experience was the waitress. She was very pleasant and tried her best under difficult circumstances.
The time spend, the choices, never disappoints. Thank for being so reliable.
Server was awful
Like most good places, it’s always busy, and you’ll have to wait even with a reservation
Discovered Oswego Grill for the 1st time . Perfect spot to meet our kids who live in Portland.
Wednesday was our daughter's. birthday. Great staff, nice varied menu service was superb!
We most definitely have discovered a new favorite!
Highly recommend , beautiful atmosphere.
Thank you, Cheryl Anne
Food was excellent! It is a busy time of the year and they were very busy; thus, service was a bit slow! We had a great time!
Server got a little less tip than we normally do. He was slow, didn’t pay attention, took too long to get things we requested. We aren’t difficult customers. We just needed standard service. He needs more time and education.
Would have been 5 star for ambiance however I was sitting in the dark in our booth. Our server Summer was fabulous! And she was also handling an extremely large party who sat along the windows next to us. That made it a bit louder than usual but no complaints as it is Christmas time and many celebrations. Food was delicious and has gotten more consistent. We truly enjoy going to Oswego Grill
Just so so. Server distracted. Food very average. Lighting terrible.
Enjoyable food delicious as usual
Always a great staff and good food. They appreciate their customers and it shows!
Saturday night. 5:30 pm. Busy. We show up with a reservation for seven - 4 adults and 3 children under the age of 8. Reaction from greeter and Jake our waitperson - good evening and welcome to Oswego Grill. Smaller and younger guests but still guests. Service was attentive and focused on making our entire party feel at ease. Special orders for the kids were handled graciously. Appreciated paper cups with lids and straws for their chocolate milk order. The celebratory dinner after attending the Oregon Ballet Theatre The Nutcracker was the perfect end of a wonderful day. Thank you Greeter, kitchen staff, Mr. Jake, our waitperson, and thank you Oswego Grill Wilsonville.
Our meals were great and our server, Spring was excellent.
Great food! Excellent desserts!
First experience was wonderful but multiple visits since have not been as enjoyable. It’s noisy for a business dinner. The portions of the scallop dish I had was small and the entire dish one note.
Turn up the lights a bit. It take a flashlight to see the menu.
