all-natural chicken, fresh mozzarella, spicy tomato cream sauce
Offered as a Secondi Choice. Gorgonzola-Crusted, Parmesan-Crusted or Modena-Style; $12 Additional per guest order
The fixed price menu is an excellent way to share family-style starters and "primo corso"with individual choices from the main course. Of note was the mushroom polenta from the Alto Adige menu and the polpetone from the main menu. Highly recommended
Great food & service! It’s been a couple of years since we first came to osteria via stato. It will not be that long before our next visit here. My husband & I split an appetizer, salad, entree, & dessert and were very happy with portions to do that. We aren’t as big eaters as we used to be.
2nd visit on our trip to Chicago. The garlic with olive oil & balsamic vinegar dip is beyond yummy. The seasonal risotto was delicious. Good wine. Wonderful service. Looking forward to going again on our next trip.
Our server, Mike, was exceptional. We had the multi course dinner which allowed us to try 3 starters, followed by a pasta dish. We each picked our own entree. I had the seafood stew & my husband had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon. Both were delicious. They brought out a birthday dessert for my husband which was a nice touch.
Our wine selection was perfect and a great recommendation from our server.
An enjoyable evening. We would return.
I didn't like the fact that the chicken marsala came with two bone in thighs..!
Would recommend !!
Really enjoyed our experience and would recommend to anyone in the Chicago area to check it out.
OVS didn't miss a beat. Busy weekend in Chi town with NBA, car show, Valentines, etc. The service was a perfect blend of attentive yet not rushed. Each order from the kitchen prompt, hot, and the best we've had at OVS. The short rib risotto was amazing, as were the veal meatballs for a shareable app with cocktails. Perfect ambiance during the cold winter months. Nice job.
Andrea was a great server. Good delicious timely not too rushed. A great evening
Valentines dinner was absolutely great
I would recommend, but NOT for a holiday/event. We loved Osteria and decided to spend Valentine's Day here, especially since it had been a while since we last visited (we do not live in the city). I usually find my experience amazing, but this time it was different. After 7pm, they changed the menu to where you could not order whatever you wanted and the food and portions that were served with the Valentine's Day menu were very underwhelming (to put it politely). The appetizers seem random, the filet mignon looked like they filleted one cut multiple times, but served that one cut to more people... and dessert look like it was intended for a toddler. I hate when restaurants, try to capitalize off holidays by decreasing quality, control over options and portions, but instead raise prices to basically triple profits. To be honest, it kind of changed my view of a restaurant that we originally loved.
Valentine’s Day - pretty good price for a special meal. We each got a glass of sparkling Rose, a variety of appetizers to share, a risotto, entree, and dessert. All for $68. Food was pretty consistent.
Nice dinner, table was too small for all the plates.
You cannot go wrong with Osteria Via Stato! Bread, meatball app, scallops were all absolutely delicious!
Earl is the best server ever!!
Another excellent meal from the fine folks at LEYE.
Ruben was a fantastic server and tended to all our needs even before we asked for it. Superb
This was our first time visiting and it was very good. We had a very nice server that attended to our requests. We enjoyed the food and liked having the different courses. Make sure you go in hungry as the portions are significant. Definitely on my list to return.
This was our first time dining at Osteria. We truly enjoyed everything! Our server made wonderful recommendations. We initially went for restaurant week but ended up ordering off the main menu.
The roasted garlic oil and bread at the start of the meal is a wonderful touch!
Will definitely go back!
Our entrees were good, the service was decent but nothing spectacular as we didnt see our server much between courses...which may have been due to the fact that we were in a corner table of the restaurant near a server station. The most annoying aspect of dinner was the amount of fruit flies that kept flying around our table. Overall our dining experience was mediocre and probably wont be back any time soon given so many other options in the area.
Was great , the food is great . The service was amazing !
For a buffet brunch in Chicago it was a good price .
We had the Restaurant Week fixed price menu and it was plentiful and excellent. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. The only negative was the large party that was seated next to us about 30 minutes after we arrived. At least 6 noisy children, several of whom screamed and cried.
We still had to wait to be seated as if we didn’t even use the app. This ruined our plans for after dinner.
This was our first time at Osteria and we really enjoyed it. Our server was great—both personable and knowledgeable. I’m glad I went with his recommendation of the scallops as they were delicious!! He also brought us bread from the restaurant week menu and some ice cream to share with our espressos.
Great service, fantastic food and a very pleasant ambiance. Would do it again
Went for Restaurant week dinner with my wife and son and we each had different entrees in their prefix menu. Each entree was outstanding in it’s own way and the first course Caesar salad, veal meat balls and roasted garlic in a balsamic vinegar were amazing.
Lovely casual meal. We had the meatballs, the warm bread with roasted garlic and 2 pizzas. The 4 of us shared these. And I had a nice glass of wine. The ambiance is great too.
Service was great as always— they never disappoint in treating guests great. HOWEVER— not only did they raise the price of the Italian Night Out, but they used to give you 2 salads and 2 pastas— now just one — AND the entree upcharges are WAY out of control—time for me to find a new “favorite” restaurants ....
Great food! Start there. Waiter was good - timing of meal, knowledge of wine list. It was a bit too loud for my taste. The ambiance was good. It really felt like a town in Italy.
Thank you for the great review! Sorry it was a bit too loud for you.
Great food and service. The family style was a very good deal.
Took way too long (40+ minutes) for food to arrive after ordering. Waiter did offer a complimentary dessert, which we swapped out for a complimentary lass of wine. Quite frankly, food quality was disappointing. I dine frequently for both business and personal. This was suppose to be a casual personal evening. Overall - very disappointing.
For parties over 6 people, they insist you order from a price fix menu
I had a drink at the bar before dining. I observed a server refilling soft drinks at the bar while he “grazed” on the fruit at the bar. After drinks were filled, he spent time, a lot of time, chatting with the bartender. People were waiting for their drinks. He was our server for dinner.
Service was ok. I’ve dined at Osteria 20 times in the past 3 years & this time our server was not nearly as polished and focused on details( checkback, refilling water or wine) as every time before. Yes, I was not impressed because of his actions prior to him becoming my server, but he left me wondering where the “wow” was from prior visits.
We didn’t realize the New Year Eves menu would be different from everyday but it was a five course meal every course delicious!
The food was delicious. Our waitress was very nice.
Great Restaurant in menu. We went for New Year’s Eve in each course was outstanding. Our server was excellent allowing us to linger a bit at the table
We went to this restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve. As busy as the night was the service was excellent. The food is beyond delicious and the place is just lovely. I was especially impressed as I asked for a pasta dish that is generally a meat dish to be turned vegetarian. The chef did a wonderful job without any delay in us getting our food.
I pretty much like all the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants, and this is one of their best. Highly recommended!
