Osteria Toscana Ratings and Reviews
Ordered the steak special med rare and it was way over cooked and was missing topping on it. Sent it back and the second time was just as bad. But the kicker was when I received the bill, it was $43!! For a sirloin steak that was messed up twice. Nothing was comp or offered to me while rest of my party was eating. The app was great but very disappointed in price point for that special and paying that much I except a GREAT steak not a bad one
Went for lunch - why would anyone go anywhere else? they run specials for as low as $9.95 (I got the Rigatoni special with grilled sausage and could only manage to eat half of it the portion was so big!) and the menu itself is also not expensive (my partner got Chicken Parm and again it was huge!) the service was spot on (we had John & Josh they were fantastic) and the Manager come by to make sure everything was good and it was.
I have been there several times
I have to say this time I was a little disappointed because my meal wasn't as hot as I would've liked it to be and the dessert menu doesn't have good choices. I also feel like the place is small and all the tables are too close together and I was seated right in front of a door to outside and I felt a cold breeze on my back
Food and service were wonderful as usual. Disappointed that restaurant cancelled open table reservation when we were actually there 5 mins early. Had 99 year old friend as a guest and she always enjoys food and easy accessibility. Small muffins and cornbread with brunch are a treat. We enjoyed the squash salad with nuts, dried cranberries and wonderful greens. It was very different and was delicious. As usual, the chicken tortellini soup was great.
There were three of us dining that evening and we got extremely lucky with a new waiter, John. He really set the tone for the evening with his outgoing personality, smile and charm. He was so accommodating and professional as well as knowledgable about the menu. The food was so delicious and extremely fresh and "hot". We have dined here many times before and have always been pleased with our meals; however, John made it special! Thanks John!
Food is good but expensive. We had a 50 minute wait WITH a reservation. We were not happy. We were taking another couple out to repay them for what they had done for us and had to stand and wait almost an hour even after calling for a reservation. Doesn't make a good impression. Wouldn't recommend on a time schedule.
My wife and I have been to Osteria Toscana many time and it remains one of our favorites. The service is wonderful, from the hosts to our favorite server, Lisa. My wife especially loves the sangria and I like just about everything. They always try to accommodate any special requests. A wonderful spot for dinner!
Absolutely amazing service, John was definitely a gem in the world of waiters. He knew when to be attentive and when not to be, very prompt courteous and an absolute pleasure. I don't have any complaints about the food, everything was cooked to perfection, the presentation was beautiful and mostly, it tasted amazing. Couldn't have been more pleased with everything about the restaurant.
Husband is always looking for good, authentic Italian food. We have been waiting weeks to get to RI to try Osteria Toscana. They did not disappoint! I had the short rib stuffed ravioli & he had the Braciole. Both were excellent, which we base on how well his Mom or Grandma would make them. We don't mind paying good money for GREAT food!
What a pleasant surprise! Tucked away on route 5, next to a beauty salon, I wasn't sure what to expect. Beautiful ambiance, friendly and attentive staff, and tables set far enough apart so you can enjoy private conversation without hearing chatter from adjoining tables. The menu is diverse, offering interesting combinations of pastas, seafood, and meats. Beautiful veal dishes, and they actually serve a ragú made with boar, which I was told they import from Italy. It was delicious! Nice assortment of side dishes and homemade desserts as well. The three of us loved our meals, and the portions were so large that we all took home enough for another meal. They serve lunch a couple of days a week and Sunday brunch. I'll definitely go back (and I live in walking distance of Federal Hill)! I was surprised to read they are part of a group of restaurants. I have been to two of their other upscale venues and found them unremarkable. This one is a keeper! Highly recommended.
