love this place....there hasnt been a restaurant this good in johnston in forever ..love it
Been there multiple times. The food and service is always incredible. This was, however, the first time I made reservations and had to wait a bit to be seated. Just shows you how high demand this restaurant is, but don't let this deter you from eating there... the food itself is worth the wait
Excellent food. Service was very courteous and efficient. I had the VITELLO BOCCONCINI DELLA NONA AL VIN SANTO, which was fantastic. It was a healthy portion that left me comfortably full. My wife and kids also enjoyed their meals very much - MAMA’S SUNDAY GRAVY, COTOLETTA DI VITELLO ALLA PARMIGIANA, SEAFOOD OVER SQUID INK PASTA. Excellent night out and I will definitely be back.
This was not our first time at Osteria Toscana and as usual the food was delicious. Great choice of additional appetizers, which we tried and the entrees were delicious. The food tastes like it was home cooked just for you and tasty. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable with the questions we asked. An overall great experience.
Per usual, our food was fantastic. The only disappointing part is that I had put in the opentable notes that we were celebrating our friends’ 20th anniversary, so anything special would be appreciated. However, there was no mention of this by the waitstaff. 😔
Service was poor for the cost of the meal. Was always looking for the waiter who disappeared for long periods of time.
I normally frequent this restaurant and have never had an issue. Unfortunately this was not the case on Saturday night. My veal parm had a very odd and off taste to it, as if it were frozen and then microwaved. I took 4 bites and could not bring myself to finish it, it was that bad. My mother said her gnocchi's were rather soft but she's not one to complain. We took them home and I tried them... complete mush. Just rolled up dough. I got angry with her for not telling me they were that bad because I would have called the manager over to taste them, as well as my veal. Because we frequent there often is why I didn't make a fuss, and I DO like this place. Sat night was just a terrible food experience and thankfully it was just my family and not business guests, as I would have been completely embarrassed.
As always the food here is great. Starting with the peach and burrata app with prosciutto which was a great combination, and finishing off with one of the best scallop dishes I have had in a very long time. Between all of the Trattoria owned RI locations, I probably go to one of them at least once a week. Never disappointed, but I really don't want people to know about this place because I hate the thought of having to compete for a seat.
Incredible food,service and drinks.
Can't wait to go back.
We always have a great time portions are very large well worth the money
The food was delicious but the service was nonexistent. The waitress was never around. I finally got the manager and he helped us. I wouldn't go there on a Sunday night.
Awesome food. Great service.
The food and service are always excellent at Osteria.
Excellent food and service! We had a baby with us and the staff were extremely accommodating!
My husband, father, and I went to celebrate my birthday. First, they seated us and after about 6 minutes asked us to move to accommodate a group of ten . We were told he forgot about the group of ten.
So, we moved. Well, they moved us next to a group of women who were doused in cologne. I am allergic and coughed all night. We ordered the squash flower special, which we were quickly informed they ran out of them . However, squash flowers were brought out yo the party of ten. I guess they had reserved those too.
Our food came out and my sold was awful. My husband had the Mammas Sunday dinner and that was bad, too. The waiter was surprised that we said no we didn't want to take our leftovers home.
I was so sick from the cologne worn by the group of women that I became very suck all.over my brand new 2 week old 2018 car.
We will never go there again.
It was just excellent all the way around and the food was done perfectly.
My first time dining at Osteria Toscana was fantastic. The dining room is beautiful, the service was good, and all the food we had was delicious. It's a bit of a ride from my house, but I'll be back. It's worth it.
The food is always excellent. The atmosphere inside is beautiful.
Everything was freshly prepared. Salads were generous and crisp, dressing not over powering arugula. Entrees were piping hot, perfect. Moulten lava chocolate cake was shared and not overly sweet. Our third visit and we'lol definitely return. Always pleased but will know to request table away from bar, in diningroom.
Never dissatisfied or disappointed here! Always stellar service and the food is amazing. Also the chef is willing to substitute or tweak a meal to your liking.
Everything was excellent. They even gave us champagne for a toast for our anniversary. Really enjoyed our evening.
Excellent food! Service was slow and it was extremely loud but it was also super busy.
What a wonderful place. The food and service were exceptional. The bartender was so nice and let us sample his peach ginger drink. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful time.
We have dined here before and I would definitely recommend this to anyone the food is outstanding
Came with family on a Sunday. We had made a reservation for 7, but when we got there we were told our table was occupied. There is nowhere to sit and/or wait, so 7 of us had to stand at the door and move every time someone opened it. They put us at a 6 top, right next to the bar. It was a bit loud, as there was a group there. The service was fine, everyone liked their food. We didn’t really see a difference between Osteria and the Trattoria locations, except the prices were higher. We thought it was meant to be more upscale than Trattoria, but there were people in ripped jeans and sneakers.
Great food and service
Service not up to par forgot our salads filled one glass of water not the other on top of asking for water
The service, the food and the details of all the items available were superb.
I ordered a veal entree and got chicken! The waitress was willing to exchange it but my wife already had her entree.
need to cut back on salt, the veal needs to be trimmed little better had some hard grizly edges
The waitress was excellent. The food was delicious as always. Enjoyable night out.
As others have said the noise level is very high. We had very good service. Not overly attentive - just right. When I asked a staff member (might have been the mgr) for butter vs the olive oil he gave me a look like I was crazy. I had veal and my spouse had the gnocci - the bread and olives a lovely touch. Both meals were very good and paired with a reasonably priced bottle of Moet Chandon. I had noted with my reservation that I was celebrating my birthday - told the staff member with butter issues - and was not recognized. Generally when I have gone to other fine dining spots the very least would be a piece of cake or some dessert off the menu. Disappointing.
This was my second time eating at this establishment. While it was very good I don't feel compelled to go back primarily because of the noise level. Cheers to them though - they pack the place with their authentic dishes.
The food is always fabulous. Our server, Paul was terrific. he was very attentive without hovering around us. The staff works well together.
I have been to this restaurant several times and each time the service has been spectacular. From the moment we arrived everyone was very attentive and welcoming. The food has been excellent and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend this place.
Overall, our experience was great. However, the prices are a bit over the top. $42 for prime rib, $23 for macaroni and meatballs??? That is nuts. Our server wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. The owner did come around to every table, but she was waiting on us. Her presence should have been more pronounced.
It was a great disappointment to show up at 11AM and be told there was no brunch. The brunch was advertised on line and on open table. It should be clearly stated if this is not the case on holidays such as Father’s Day. We had to leave and try to find a restaurant that could take us at the last minute for brunch.
Been to this restaurant in the past
Food is always hot and large portions
2 meals for the price of one
I cannot believe how disappointed we were in this meal. Our app were zucchini blossoms (mushy) and very bland calamari. My husband and I both had the scallop special. It had NO taste at all. It was swimming in a broth that it got lost in. Our waitress was so soft spoken that I had to ask her to repeat three or 4 times. No water brought, no refills on water and no one asking us if everything was ok.
I will never go back to this restaurant or recommend it. Extremely disappointing
Excellent food and service. Love eating here!
