We have been huge fans of Savio Volpe - this experience was a bit different. Our waiter was around us way too much and over attentive - which became aggravating.
The food was not up to Savio standards for some reason as it's such a great restaurant. Way too much sauce on the tuna sashimi which completely overpowered it.
My pork dish was overcooked so it was quite dry.
It was a surprise as normally it's such a great experience to come to Savio. Disappointed.

Gorgeous ambience, Our server was more than helpful! really made our experience. We started with the garlic knots (to DIE for) 2nd course we had the cavatelli pasta and the spaghetti with duck ragu. Both were outstanding in flavour. 3rd course we went with the lingcod, melt in your mouth fish! lastly we had 2 types of sorbet and the cannoli, could have licked our plate clean.

Outstanding food. Service was a little slow when we sat down but tempo picked up as the plates arrived. Our server was competent but seemed indifferent as to our menu choices.
We were considering dining alla famiglia. They don't tell you what it is in advance so I asked our server what wine he recommended to accompany it. His reply was "Anything you want," which did not build confidence in his judgement.
In the end we ordered the ragu and the lamb. Both were superb as well as the appetizer, salad and dessert.
Prices are very reasonable for such good food.

A friend suggested Savio Volpe for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! We had an incredible experience here — food was delicious (we got the kale salad, focaccia, roasted veg and two pastas) and the service was exceptional. They even gave me a birthday card and a dessert on the house. We’ll definitely be back again, highly recommend!

The food was absolutely amazing from start to finish! My friend and I had garlic knots and arancini which was crisp on the outside and warm on the inside. We then had the beet salad which was refreshing followed by the chicken and sausage stuffed pasta. We ended the evening with lamb shank with polenta that cut like butter. The polenta was nice and creamy. Finally we had the lemon tart which was a nice way to end the dinner with something light, not too sweet, and slightly tart. Overall the food was delicious.

The service was simply phenomenal. The server, I forget her name, however she has curly black hair and was born in Italy- she was outstanding!
The only thing was the wine...not so great. Although she gave us three to taste!
Love the place

Osteria Savio Volpe never disappoints, dishes are always delicious and intriguing. Rosemary bread is a great stater, the duck rage pasta and perfectly cooked steak were the first and second courses with tasty broccolini on the side. Finish with the canneli, perfect dinner.

I’m Italian so you I don’t go out for pasta or Italian food often but when I do I am very picky, because you know, Nonnas food is the best.
So We got the “à la familia” option, where they chose a 5 course meal for you. Highly recommend that option. I’m not good at picking what I want to eat off the menu, takes me forever, so having them pick for us was great and brought a lovely element of surprise! We had the Sommelier come recommend a bottle of wine for us, and she was extremely friendly and pleasant to talk to and recommended a delicious wine that was paired perfectly with our food.
Each item was perfectly done!
Even something as simple as the broccolini.. cooked to perfection and had incredible flavour, smoked in the fire oven. The lamb, let me tell you was the best lamb I’ve ever tasted, and even the polenta it sat on was just delicious, melt in your mouth!
From the fresh bread and burrata to the cannelloni for desert. Everything was delicious and I’d go back there every week if my bank allowed!

Very good Italian food. Quieter than normal due to increased table separation, but the layout is not oppressed with too many perspex dividers. A pleasant meal. Thanks.

Food was wonderfully delicious! We chose the “Let us cook for you, Dine alla familigia” option. We started with Prosciutto di Parma, kale salad followed by two delectable fresh pasta dishes:t agliatelle bolognese and capiletti with squash and ricotta. Next were two melt in your mouth dishes: lamb shank with polenta and the half chicken with rosemary and charred lemon. My son had to try the garlic knots: a must have for garlic lovers. We ended our meal with a cranberry pastry and perfectly roasted coffees (2 Americanos and 1 cappuccino.). The meal was perfectly paired with a San Felice 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Il Grigio I brought from my wine stash at home. Looking forward dining at Savio Volpe again soon.

I had wanted to go to this restaurant for years and was finally able to make it. This is one of the best meals out in Vancouver in recent memory. We were thrilled with service, food and atmosphere. I had the kale salad and garlic knots to start, this is now my favorite salad-absolutely delicious. The kale was perfectly dressed with a lovely texture. For the main I had the flat iron steak, perfectly cooked rare as requested, so tender and juicy. I had the delicious brus sprouts as a side. I thought there was no way the dessert could top the meal but there it was...that ricotta filled canolli served with an American with the nicest crema in the city❤️

The server Stephano was prompt, polite and made us feel that we were his only table-he took care of us in a way that restaurants nowadays often fail to do!

We’ll be back soon!

We’ve been here twice and both experiences were exceptional!

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 6+ years and we’ve NEVER found a restaurant that we both love consistently going to...
Service superb, innovating food, staff that care. I work in the industry and sometimes it can be hard to impress me as I’m knit picking the service as it happens in my head... not the case at Savio Volpe.
They were even kind enough to leave a birthday card at our table to greet us.

Touches like this and the many housemate gelato flavours :’) will keep us coming back!
