Great tasting menu. Accommodating and friendly staff. Management goes over and beyond!
Incredible food, amazing service, and great atmosphere!
Love the family style!
Fantastic food and service! A bit loud but the clear view of the kitchen and overall mood made up for the noise level. Pasta is a must try!
Excellent meal! We enjoyed the family style meal. Everything was delicious!
Excellent restaurant highlighted by service, food and location. Only downside is that there is no natural privacy for conversation as the tables are situated incredibly close together and the music was very energetic and somewhat on the loud side so even having a conversation was a bit of an issue.
It has been on my to do list for too long, so we went for my partner’s birthday celebration. We chose the “alla famiglia” menu and were surprised with every delicious course. They treated us well. I highly recommend.
Amazing service and food. Love it here and can't wait to go again!
excellent and friendly service with wonderful food. be prepared for a extra lively atmosphere!
One of the best dining experience
Excellent appetizers with unique Italian dishes. Pasta has sufficient portions but slightly on the salty side. Great ambiance would return
Birthday dinners are great to enjoy here when you have a smaller party.
Excellent food and ambiance. We ordered the family style meal and was pleasantly surprised with each course! Would recommend this restaurant highly for quality of food and value for money!
Simply amazing - fantastic food + impeccable service!
Food was great. We ordered the "Let us feed your family" for $55 each and didn't know what to expect.
Everything that was delivered to us was great and not something we'd ordered for ourselves.
Service was awesome as well. They were there when you needed them, not overly friendly or hard-to-find.
Nothing but good things to say, food was beautifully presented and delicious. Service was attentive. Definitely one to come back to!
The food was decent but not as great as we were expecting. My boyfriend had been here before a year and a half ago and it seems like the menu had changed since then. He said it was really good food before which is why we waiting 3 weeks for our reservation. But the food wasn't impressive and it was very loud. The service was really good though.
We love discovering delicious restaurants within walking distance from our house and Savio Volpe did not disappoint. We had to reserve for our anniversary dinner weeks in advance and ended up only being able to reserve a 5:15 timeslot , but is was amazing . The Salmon was spectacular. Loved it !!
The food and service was good. It's the first time though that one dish (Kale salad) was bitter. I think in hindsight I would have sent it back. We didn't finish it. However, the appetizer with scallop and the Agnolotti with bison was delicious.
Amazing! We loved the atmosphere and the attention we received from all staff, not just our waitress.
We were a party of 6 (5 adults, 1 child) with a reservation and was promptly seated upon arrival. The child has a severe allergy to dairy so we specified no cheese on her kid's pasta. They brought the pasta with cheese which we sent back, only to have the server come right back with the same plate telling us "the cheese was pasteurized."?! Our server was pleasant enough but appeared stern and felt rushed. We had the rigatoni that was average, the sausage pieces on it was stale and chewy. The pappardelle (w/salmon) noodles were soft not el dente as it should be. The meatballs was good but not great. The Cavatelli we had was delicious, the half chicken was tasty and moist albeit a bit on the salty side, along with the side potatoes were the best items. Overall the experience was a let down having heard quite a bit of hype about this place. There are definitely better Italian options in Vancouver.
Our visit from the time we arrived was perfect!! The food, service, and the beautiful room, made our first time dining there amazing. However, the one down fall which I will give it, is the room is so loud that it is hard to hear the music playing, and your dinner guest talking. Other than that, I am happy to have great Italian restaurant in my neighbourhood.
Food was excellent. The friends we took said some of the best appetizers (Kale), deserts (chocolate tart) they had eaten. They liked the atmosphere and said they'd come back. Was nice, spacious, roomy. Excellent bottle of Rose (Syrah). Just: for me and my husband, they could improve sound-proofing to reduce noise. Was very loud. That said, once we got used to the noise level, we forgot and just enjoyed. Really satisfied.
Great family style meal enjoyed with friends. Kale salad was delicious as were the house made pasta. The wine and beverage selection was very good. Loved the friendy service.
This is a good lively restaurant that is very noisy. It aerves mainly wine for alcohol and not hard liquor. The food was above average but not sensational. I love pastas but the number of choices offered was small (5 different choices only).
When I made the reservation I asked for a corner at the counter. We arrived on time to find that there were only seats available mid- counter. Not a big deal but an unfortunate way to begin our meal. The kicker was the way our drink order was handled. I enjoy wine with my meal not almost 5 minutes after the dishes have been put in front of us.
Awesome meal served family style. Every dish was great. Will defiantly be going back.
Fantastic experience at a fair price.
5 stars overall. Reason for 4 stars in 2 categories was because noise level is very high and seating a bit crowded -tables are very close together.
A wonderful experience as always. Savio Volpe remains one of our very favourite restaurants in Vancouver.
So glad we took the early 5:15 reservation. Savio Volpe is a foodie delight. The early seating meant it was quiet and although the tables are closely packed, only every 3rd table was seated at that time. We decided on the tasting menu. After some discussion of dietary restrictions & preferences, our server brought out the starter salad. My sister didn’t love the anchovies in the kale salad so a different one was quickly brought out. (I thought both were delicious.) The pappardelle with mushrooms was perfect. Each dish I asked for a recommended wine pairing. The main was sirloin cooked perfectly. Dessert was a huckleberry berry sorbet (lactose intolerant). It was as visually appealing as it was tasty- the slightly-sweet granola crunch contrasted the taste and texture of the sorbet. The best part of the experience was the service. Various staff in addition to our server brought dishes and drinks with perfect timing- neither rushed nor left waiting. By the time we left, the restaurant had filled and the noise level increased. If you prefer quiet I recommend going early or asking for a window table. Will definitely be dining here again.
Amazing time and time again! Great place for date night or an evening with the girls! Xx
Food was awesome! Great service and dining environment. Overall a great experience. Would recommend this place for dates and special occasions.
I love Osterio Savio Volpe except for one thing - the noise. It's as loud as a bar after midnight. When I recommend this restaurant, it is always with the proviso, that you can't have a conversation in this restaurant.
The tasting menu for 6 people was such great value! Over 11 dishes were brought to the table, all of which were utterly fantastic!!!!
Had Chef's choice and it was outstanding. Server had good knowledge of wines and gave us equivalents for usual BC choices
Food was excellent our favourite was the carne cruda. Relaxing atmosphere and great service.
The food was absolutely delicious - I highly recommend any of the salad and pasta dishes. Our server was delightful and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful experience!
For my solo birthday dining experience, it was excellent! The food and overall attention to small details was amazing. Will definitely be coming back soon.
We had a wonderful experience dining as a party of two for my birthday. The alla famiglia experience was delicious and was driven by great recommendations from our waiter. The waiter was knowledgeable, personable, and above all, passionate about the restaurant's offerings.
Service was the highlight of the meal as courses moved in tandem with our dining pace. We never felt rushed to finish, nor was there a lull in either time or quality between dishes. There was a slight miscommunication between what we wanted and what was offered, but they were quick to correct our mix-up and offered reparations after.
We would definitely recommend the place to our friends and family in the future.
The hype did not warrant the experience. Very disappointed in both the service , which was condescending, and the food which was far from exceptional. We had the prosciutto followed by the ravolet and stopped. The meat portions looked enormous, more for 4 or 6 people rather than 2. We don’t all travel in a pack!
