A neighborhood gem where you will love the food and feel comfortable and welcome. The owner Francesco is a true delight, and ask for Carlos to be your server and you will not find more professional or enjoyable service anywhere. Pastas come in full and half portions, so try a few, and don't miss the pappardelle with the veal meat sauce or the ravioli - everything is homemade here, even the breads. Tim makes great cocktails, and all of the service providers are very attentive and appreciative. The Arancini is just like I enjoy all over Sicily - you won't be disappointed. The meatballs are perfect, and the salads are fresh and crisp, and not over-dressed. The branzino is terrific and if you like veal - this is the place. Don't miss the light as air Torta - ricotta and chocolate cheesecake or the selection of cookies. These chefs can cook, and this is a place to enjoy with your family, because you will feel right at home here!
A diverse and relatively large menu including half and full portions for many entrees. The quality of the food was outstanding. Unfortunately a meal there on a Friday night made it difficult to verbally communicate with others at our table. More importantly, our waiter tried very hard - almost to the point of intimidation - to discourage us from ordering a half portion size of our entrees. We preferred the smaller size for several reasons. But the waiter's facial expression and hand gestures made it clear he felt a half portion was very small and may not be enough. Then he said that a half portion is the size of an appetizer. I am an intelligent adult and I know what a half portion means. To try to embarrass me into ordering a full size portion is not appropriate and makes me believe he simply wanted a larger check and related larger tip. Earlier, the same waiter discouraged us from ordering an appetizer after we said 2 of us planned to share it, saying it was quite small. We ordered it anyway and it was the perfect size for 2 people to share, much larger than he led us to believe!
The restaurant had a very nice vibe, quiet so you could talk. The food was delicious. My snapper was cooked perfectly, just wish it was bigger. The chicken parm and lasagna were delicious and a good portion. The shrimp with grains was yummy but only came with 4 shrimp. I would recommend this restaurant, parking was easy and the ambiance was lovely. If you order seafood, order a more substantial appetizer, I had a dinner salad which wasn't enough. I don't eat bread but my friends thought it was delicious. We had the round table in the pathway to the kitchen which was a bit annoying.
Went to celebrate my birthday. My server was Carlos B. and he pleasantly surprised me. I started off with a different take on bruschetta which was excellent. Next was a salad called Caprino (beets and goat cheese were the main ingredients) this was good but not what I would do the next time. The main entre was Seared Tuna this was excellent would have this again. Finished off with coffee gelato, a little limoncello and a cup of café . I would recommend asking for him when you go.
While renting for a month in Deerfield Beach, Fl my family was fortunate to come across this authentic Italian restuarant. Housed in The Cove it may be overlooked but if you are looking for delicious Italian dishes like Nona made I recommend you make a trip. I especially recommend any nightly special pasta dish, but also the linguini and clams and the Pacchetti ( which is prepared with Eggplant) the veal Milanese was excellent and the calamari and arancini appetizers were delicious! We went 4 times on our 4 week stay and look forward to returning next year.
The restaurant is located in a nondescript strip mall and we were not expecting our meal to be as pleasurable as it was. From the fried zucchini and calamari to the fresh pasta with lobster meat, everything was delicious. Service was attentive and efficient. Interior ambience was great. We plan on returning soon.
However the lasr time we visited they were very stretched..... not enough staff and too many people That's the problem I guess with the 'season' in this part of south florida. I think they also had a private party so the service was not up to its usual standard. The service is usually very professional but this time they brought the wrong food and it was all a bit unprofessional and rushed and forgetful. The food is always great here so we do forgive them Maybe it's getting too popular !
Another wonderful night with incredible food. This really feels like home away from home. Everyone is so attentive and caring. We started with the special risotto with curry chicken it was to die for. Hoping this becomes a regular on the menu. Next we shared the Branzino Livornese style with steamed vegetables. It was cooked to perfection and was the perfect size portion. Can't wait to go back again this Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday.
We have been going there for two years - and we can not say enough about the quality of the food and the staff! Each person makes you feel right at home and you are never waiting to order or eat! They do everything to accommodate special dining requests and special celebrations. This is one of our favorite places to dine!
We see a party of three on a Saturday night. The service was competent and friendly. The food was adequate; likely many area restaurants, the fish was overcooked. The selection mirrored many similar area Italian trattorias, nothing to distinguish itself. Price was OK for the quality offered. Parking a plus.
This "best kept secret" is a must visit..Their menu ranges from outstanding pasta dishes to the most creative menu and preparations anywhere! From appetizers, entrees to desserts are always prepared with the finest ingredients and served with a beautiful presentation..Their service and attention to detail is impeccable.
The service at this resto was excellent, however our courses came too quickly, so if you go ask them to slow down. The food was ok - fresh, well plated but too salty and quite expensive $15 for a half portion of a vegetarian pasta??!! The crowd was either older or large family groups. My teenagers were not happy to be here, and did not really love the food.
I will start off by saying you can't always trust reviews. That said I don't know what the open table users were thinking when they reviewed this place.
This place has mediocre food at best and prices that border on extortion, Examples to come below.
I booked dinner her for NYE and this was our first time. Everything I had read was super positive so I thought it'd be a safe choice. Boy was I wrong.
It starts with booking a reservation for 9:30 and not having your table ready. It took about 10 minutes to be sat. We decided to get a drink at the bar while waiting. We decided on 2 Jameson and Ginger. If you order this drink anywhere from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, the most you will pay is $10/drink. They were $14 each, you can get a nice single malt for that much in any other place
The waiter one of 4 we had , which is another story brought us new menus. We decided on getting the Burratta appetizer as it sounded yummy. Suppose to have argula, burratta, dried cranberries and eggplant. ITsure has argula, there is no eggplant whatsoever and I mean none. We asked and they pointed to the cranberries, they had no clue. When the waiter comes I order the LobsterFra Diavolo and he says sorry we are sold out. Imagine waiting 15 minutes on NYE to order and then told your dish isn't available.
We order 2 past dishes, one bucatini and one pacchier. The bucatini was $28, this dish is at most $20 anywhere else including down in Miami, again wow, highway robbery.
The bill for 2 glasses of wine, one appetizer and 2 pasta dishes was $138.
For much better value, service, incredible yummy food, with awesome service you are better coming down to FLL and going to Angelo's.
This place was a huge disspointment, thankfully I was with my lovely girlfriend and I chose to focus on the company I was with vs. this establishment.
If anyone is thinking about going here, trust me you will be highly dissapointed. S
Was looking for a special evening with good friends on New Years Eve! Appetizers and desert were very good. Our entrees were 2 fish dinners and two veal dinners. Thee
Veal Milanse was good but not memorable. The veal Marsala was tuff and not very tasty. The fish and pasta were fair. The sea bass was very good.
Service was very good, attentive, and friendly. Our experience while pleasant missed our expectation based upon reviews we read.
All in all there are many other better Italian restaurants at more reasonable prices in the area!
Dinner for four with only my 2 glasses of wine, 1 desert, and two appetizers was $320.
Would have had no problem with the price had we all had "very good" entrees. Thought the price was excessive for the quality of the food.
Do not plan on going back.
We went here based on reviews and have to say we were not disappointed. It was Christmas day and most of the restaurants were booked solid or not open. We were able to get a reservation at this family owned gem and we were skeptical since there were so many open reservations around 7- 7:30. As we pulled up we noticed that the place was packed so we felt better about our choice. The friendly and adorable hostess said our table would be ready in a few minutes and we went to the bar to have a drink. We were seated in about 15 minutes. They were very busy and the staff was running around like crazy but still extremely attentive. The food was delicious! My red snapper dish in a light red tomato sauce with clams and shrimp was out of this world and my husband loved his pasta dish. Our salad with endive, arugula and creamy gorgonzola was delicious too. We would definitely not hesitate to go back again when in the area.
The dinning room is pleasant and the waiter staff is very good. The appetizers are expensive for the quantity: not a good value. The dinner prices are fair, but not for the quantity they give you. Pasta is so cheap to buy wholesale that I can't understand why the portions are small. The amount of gravy/sauce used isn't that expensive considering the price restaurants charge for a pasta dish. I speak as a former owner of an Italian restaurant. I could give large portions of pasta, with quality gravy/sauce, because for the price of the dishes, and the people would be very satisfied. I won't return.
THE BEST RESTURANT ANYWHERE. IF YOU ARE GOING ANYWHERE-ELSE YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY, TIME AND PALATE ! TRITO REMAINS THE :BEST THING I HAVE EATEN ANYWHERE: SPIGOLA, POLIPO, PENE WITH PACHIERI SAUCE, TRUFFLE OIL FOCACCIA, RIBS, CANSONSEE ALL TOPPED OFF WITH GELATO D~CAFE AND TOTINO-----WOW!!!!!!!!
Favorite dishes are many--I often get the orecchiette or the ravioli, but when I want to be really healthy, I get the paillard chicken dish with roasted vegetables which is excellent without being heavy. My husband loves their pappardelle. The service is very attentive and personal. There are other Italian restaurants that have great food but they tend to be so loud it takes away from the experience. This restaurant and bar are large and the acoustics are good, this makes it a great place for us to go with friends when we actually want to talk to each other : ) We've been going to Osteria regularly for about two years now and it just keeps getting better and better.
Thoroughly professional. Everything came quickly. We had four different men assisting us with water, wine, food, pepper. I could have been in NYC except the the tables are much further apart and the service is faster. Even the check came promptly. Cant find the slip, but about normal for a real restaurant.
