Osteria Marzano Ratings and Reviews
First time ever going here and we'll be back. We went there on a Friday evening for a date night, there was a live DJ playing which was loud but we didn't mind. The food was great, the service was awesome, we'll definitely be returning. I assume on nights where there isn't a DJ bumping music it's much more intimate our server said it was just on Friday evenings. Nonetheless that would be a very fun happy hour spot after work on Friday.
I love this place! It is hidden in the office park. But once you find it, you'll definitely come back! There is no equivalent in the area, and it can be compared to very few restaurants
In DC! The design is very modern and cool design and they make you feel like home by their service and food.
Most of the pastas are homemade and their specials are always very unique and yummy too! They also host wine classes and cooking classes! Where else could you find this much under one roof???
New Year's Eve at 6pm - not exactly peak hours - service was quite slow, and our waitress was indifferent from the start, leaving us without even drinks for 10-15 minutes when we asked for waters and "another minute" to consult the wine list (of which we were only given 1 for a table of 6). There have been some changes to the menu for the worse - for example, why remove vitello tonnato and butternut squash ravioli to add fish'n'chips and candied-bacon macaroni and cheese? The short rib was not as flavorful as I remember, either.
Terrific. Wide range of italian food options. I prefer their cream sauce dishes to their red sauce, but everything I have had is solid. Salads are very good. Have had several dishes with their mozzarella d buffalo and the mozzarella is top notch. A bit pricey for the area, but one of the few polished options in the area - so there you go.
Osteria Marzano is one of our favorite places in N.VA. We’ve been going there since it opened, and it has never disappointed us. The food is always excellent. We love Burrata, and it’s always so good, especially with truffles and when it’s made with buffalo milk. The fried calamari is also great- fried perfectly, very mild, and very fresh, served with fresh tomato sauce. Pasta, risotto, and gnocchi are all delicious and perfectly cooked. Fish, esp. the branzino, is another great option. We seldom have room for dessert, but the Nutella pizza is to die for.
Bottomline - this is a great restaurant. Try it, you’ll love it.
Thank you, Chef Marzano!
Came on Christmas Eve for some great Italian food and was not disappointed! The ambiance was perfect for the holiday occasion. The buratta, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze appetizer was delicious. There was a variety of options, including gluten free pasta. I had the spaghetti carbonara with the gluten free pasta. Very tasty! Definitely will be back. Looked like it would also be a good place to check out a game at the bar.
We enjoyed the Caesar salad, and the side of broccoli was plenty for two. My husband said his chicken parmigiana was good, but the pasta was exceptional: perfectly cooked, exquisitely coated with flavorful sauce. My salmon ravioli in vodka sauce was delicate but hearty.
Well prepared food, good portions, great service. Each of the four of us ordered completely different meals, from just a salad, to a fried dish, we all enjoyed. The vegetables were fresh, meat tender, soup well done. We've been coming here for a few years, at times may order just a salad and pizza and that's also great. You can have a nice meat or fish meal and that's always well done
It’s American Italian. Not much authenticity here, but the food was good. We tend to be picky about our Italian, so I would say most people would like it. We were looking for our new Italian restaurant and this won’t be it. Food is good, service was good, ambiance good. Nothing bad to report.
Great new find for me. I will definitely be back. Delicious. We got a bottle of Ruffino for half the price. The mozzarella and tomato was one of the best I have ever had. I have had it a million times and it seems ordinary but not this. It was a huge ball of mozzarella that you cut yourself with slices of deep, juicy tomatoes on top of a pool of olive oil. It was seasoned perfectly. I loved the olive oil so much that I took the yummy Italian bread and made sure to soak up every bit. It was nice and salty. My husband got the lasagna. Again, not boring, not ordinary. You can definitely taste that everything is homemade. I had a pasta with parmesan cream sauce. We ended the meal with creme brûlée that was topped with brown sugar. It was a beautiful meal. We will definitely go back.
Have been many times with great food and service. Tonight the service was not great. Was seated and waited over 15 to get someone to come to the table (and only because I brought it to their attention that no one had even brought us water). A few errors on drinks and repeated requests too. They seemed to be understaffed today or just off their game for sure.
I have eaten at OM at least five times and I was impressed with the food and service. OM was not crowded but the server was absent frequently. The server didn’t ask about our meal till he picked up the check, to late for me to say my $16.50 was over cooked. We were disappointed with the service.
The food was fantastic as always, but the service was lacking a bit. OM has been my go-to for Italian for the past two years and I've been there 10+ times usually with a party of 5 or more. This time was for my girlfriends 30th birthday, which I noted in two different places on the reservation. She is also part of OM's mailing list and she received an email for a free birthday dessert.
Sadly there was no mention of the occasion by the hostess or our server until our party mentioned it, and even then no Happy Birthday. After our meal she mentioned the free dessert email and showed the waiter, but we were told he'd have to check because the email wasn't printed. Ultimately the offer was honored, but its disappointing that it was even a slight issue.
We still love OM and will be back soon. The food is amazing and we highly recommend it. This was just an opportunity to comment on how service could be improved in the future, especially for patrons who are celebrating a special event.
I have been to Osteria Marzano many times, and just Love it! But the little things they do it's what sets them apart it apart. The last time I was there, I called ahead because my husband is in an orthopedic boot. They were very accommodating, and that made all the difference.
Place looked nice. They had a DJ playing music too loud. Nobody dancing so not sure what the point was. Caprese salad was very nice. Pizza was ok, not Neapolitan and certainly not as appetizing as pictured. Service was ok to start, but server kind of disappeared later on. Paid cash as I didn’t want to wait another 15 minutes for him to return with card.
