Great food and service. A bit noisy, but still was a great evening
Really enjoyed my first visit, I was with a friend so we wanted to catch up, it was a bit loud across from the bar at Happy Hour but it settled down.
We both really enjoyed everything we had, the service was great as well.
Will definatly come back
Lovely as always. Thanks!
We’re huge food people. This place was amazing. The food was delicious, service was spectacular and the decor lovely. I will return. Thank you
Terrific per usual—a total neighborhood gem !!
The food has vastly improved; everyone enjoyed their dishes completely - no complaints. The service was great - warm, welcoming, and very competent. The ambiance is nice; dress would be business casual, however, the bar area seemed a bit more casual. We first tried Marzano's when it opened a few years ago and was not impressed with their wait staff - we dined here on a Saturday evening and our waitress did not know how to open a bottle of wine. At another time, we went with a group of eight and the wait staff seemed to have forgotten we were there. The food was upscale "cafeteria" at the time. Now, however, we would definitely come back and make Marazano's a part of our rotating dining options in the Kingstowne area. Kudos to their chef and their much more attentive and sophisticated wait staff!
We have been going to Osteria since the week they opened and the have yet to let us down!
Family type atmosphere yet very professional and fabulous selections. Great service which only makes it a better experience. I have many allergies and food issues and they never have a problem accommodating. This time was for Easter brunch with our grandson and his girl friend.
They were most impressed with their food. Takes a lot to impress 'young people' :-))
Thanks for a great experience.
We always feel at home here—the friendly, attentive staff make us feel welcome. The food is excellent—we look forward to the arancini, pasta amatriciana, osso buco, and branzino.
Hidden gem with amazing food and service! We started with the buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer. The mozzarella was creamy and the prosciutto melted in your mouth. Our server Nigiah recommended a great red to go with our entrees. For entrees we had the bucatini all’amatriciana and the duck with arugula tortellini in a black truffle sauce. The pastas were both homemade and cooked to perfection. We ended with a scoop of lemon sorbet which was the perfect combination of sweet and bitter. We also had a wonderful conversation with the owner Elena. We will definitely be regulars here!
I've always had a great meal here. Portions are good sized and I normally have to get a doggy-bag; the bonus is that I get to enjoy the meal twice. Make reservations and ask for a table by the window.
We have dined here several times. We believe that Osteria is the BEST restaurant in the Springfield/Burke area. The food is outstanding. The service is friendly and attentive. They always remember our names and greet us like old friends.
Thank you for teasing us with meatball Friday! They are always exquisite! The truffle gnocchi and rabbit Ragu were fantastic!
Our waitress was Naija and she is beyond knowledgeable, confident and very professional with a sunny disposition. The food is beyond delicious and made fresh every time. This a a gem for Italian food.
Food was outstanding and our waiter knew the menu and the wine list well. There was a bit of confusion at the hostess desk, but once that was sorted out, we were seated and very pleased with the evening.
Great food and excellent service. A must stop for any dining occasion.
Friday night is DJ night so it was excessively loud.
Very nice lunch...I requested a certain type of seating and they obliged to a tee...
The decor is vibrant, the atmosphere along the 'back' wall was a little too cozy for me, but was exciting and upbeat. The food, service and wine were excellent. The center island bar makes the whole space more electric. I will look for a more intimate space within the restaurant perhaps closer to the front windows next time.
Cancelled a reservation in DC because of the bad weather. Glad I did because it led me to find this little gem so close to home. Service was excellent from start to finish. Loved the mussels in pancetta, ginger cream sauce. Veal ossobucco was my 2nd favorite ever. It was a hearty portion braised with veggies till very tender and served with saffron risotto. My wife had the Zuppa di Pesce. Also excellent. Served with penne arrabiata on the side. I honestly would have preferred over linguini. Tiramisu was best I've had in a long time. Lady fingers were soaked in espresso and amaretto and made with mascarpone, not just whipped cream. We'll definitely be back!
Been there several times always good-We went Valentines day and short wait but served us Persecio while we waited. Staff is excellent
It was the perfect dinner. Amazing food, atmosphere and excellent service. Will come again and again!
2nd time eating here, enjoyed it both times, food is good, staff is very accommodating
Excellent food, nice atmosphere, very friendly service. Overall a great place that is nearby... will be visiting again.
Very slow service....guess they were slammmedfor Valentines night, but made no plans to adjust for bigger crowd.
Noisy bar; back room was OK
Valentines Day. I’m Italian and 70 from Brooklyn NY. So I know the difference between real Italian food and the chain places. This place has great food with a real Italian traditional taste, not the fake Greek or Middle Eastern stuff that try to serve in their restaurants. This was our first time and we will be returning.
This place is a gem. The food is perfect, the service is great, and we always feel like family when we eat here.
made the mistake of going on a Friday night when the DJ was there -- way toooooo loud and obnoxious. The bartenders were more interested in the music and who was dancing than providing good service.
Mary sole was always great with us, thank you making us feel comfortable
I took a friend here for his birthday on Super Bowl night. Of course the noise level would be elevated more than the norm, it was expected. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation time but we were seated immediately anyway. I understand the plight of service persons pay compensation so I almost never tip less than 20 percent. Service has to be pretty bad to warrant less from me. By the end of our evening I couldn't fathom leaving less than 25 percent on an already healthy tab. The service ranked as some of the best I've ever experienced dining out. After our drink orders were taken, the Chef came over to our table to greet us. A very nice touch. The food was outstanding and well worth the price. We will definitely be going back and probably with more friends!
Varied menu with many chef made pastas. The branzini was outstanding...broc Rabe tough. Bread delicious. Chef take on tiramisu unusual, won't order again. The dining room was booked for private party. Tables near bar very noisy but crowd eventually thinned. We will definitely return.
Osteria Marzano was a haul for me (I live in Rockville), but worth the drive (just don't try it during Rush Hour). It was a meeting of friends, so just had to suck up the good with the bad. Food was great, service was quick, parking was free, and my buddy picked up the tab. What's not to like?
We've dined there many times in the past. The noise level was fairly subdued Sunday night, in the past it has been much noisier. Service was good, food was well prepared and excellent.
Felt like having Italian food on Saturday evening and found this hidden gem when surfing Yelp. Osteria Marzano has a number of options (seafood, traditional Italian, pizza) for any foodie. My favorite was the mussels PEI with tomato oregano and parmigiana! I also enjoyed choosing my favorite imported formaggi and salumi and the waitress helped me pair this with a perfect glass of wine. Osteria Marzano is definitely more pricey than other restaurants in the area, but well worth it for the choices on the menu. Not the best place for kids but nice for dinner with friends. I will be back for sure!
Pedestrian meal and an older crowd.
Great choice for restaurant week. Very nice menu. Very popular for happy hour. Only negative is bar is in the middle of the restaurant which affects ambience for diners.
We dined here during restaurant week and really enjoyed our meal. If you have the chance to try the Ravioli Di Salmone, it's a definite must have.
My husband and I went last Saturday night for a date night. Osteria serves very good Italian food and is in the professional building complex near Kingstowne Town Center, Alexandria. Most patrons dressed casually, but if one dresses up a bit, it works, too. The noise level in the main part of the restaurant is lively. The food is a combination of classic Italian comfort food (pasta, lasagna), chicken and seafood dishes, beef, etc and great cocktails, salads, appetizers. Great vegetable sides, which for me is a plus.
The only drawback is that service can be a bit slow. We had reservations for 8pm but still had to wait about 15-20minutes to be seated. Our server was courteous and professional, but she looked very busy, tending to many tables. The food came out at a reasonable pace, however. She then brought the dessert menu and did not return for 15 minutes. When she came back, it was with the check. This was a bit frustrating as we were hoping to have dessert before seeing a movie. My impression is that they need more servers, given how busy the restaurant gets on Saturdays. There is ample parking in a nearby garage. The positives outweigh the drawbacks, so this will remain a go-to restaurant for outings in the area. I recommend Osteria Marzano.
The food is delicious and the people that work there - make you feel like you’re family.
Great neighborhood Gem with wonderful food and excellent service.
The food is consistently good--really good. Menu is amazing--very hard to choose what to get! We were seated in the back room - which I'm assuming they use for private parties. Ambiance doesn't feel quite the same, and the service was really not good. Our server was nice enough, but definitely didn't check on us enough, had to wait FOREVER for drinks, etc. Really put a damper on the evening. My husband kept saying that he could see that she was busy/waiting on a lot of tables, but sorry...not my problem. They appeared to be short staffed. Will give it another try.
