Always a favorite place to go with friends or just on a Friday night date.
We had a nice time. Unfortunately my wife ordered a pizza and when it came, they brought the wrong kind. When it was pointed out to the waitress, she apologized and they remade the pizza. But we were surprised that the waitress didn’t offer to discount the price or provide a free dessert to make up for the wrong order. Surprising, given that we usually have such good service.
Another excellent meal at Osteria. I live in the neighborhood and have enjoyed a number of very good meals at this restaurant. The Chef is wonderful, and the servers are always very pleasant and attentive.
An additional comment --- I wish that the back dining room would be open more often as it is can be a little noisy in the bar area at times.
Our go to local restaurant for great food at a reasonable price. Hidden gem in Springfield
thank you for the very nice meal! My own issue is that I didn't get to enjoy more of it!
We have been coming here since it opened. It has never disappointed us. The pasta is handmade and so delicious. The fish and pork chops are too! The staff is attentive. They let you relax and don’t rush you but if you’re time is limited they accommodate that too. It’s loud on Fridays when there’s a DJ. The new pottery plates and menu show they are not complacent.
Great experience for our first time there the wait staff explained menu items and was very attentive. Food was delicious
My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The first indication of a poor choice was the location. We soon discovered that it pretty much served as the go-to happy hour place for the employees of the General Dynamics that share the building. (Note: Happy Hour wasn’t even applicable to diners.) Our server was very kind, but the minute we got our food is seriously disappointing. The salads were poorly mixed, lacking flavor, and absolutely not worth their hefty price tag. The pasta was alright. When we brought to the servers attention that the salads were inadequate, a manager came out and began by saying that as an Italian restaurant, their speciality are the pizzas and pastas and we should’ve just chosen those instead. When we argued that their salads could still be better, she retorted that if we had just gotten a protein topping or added salt and pepper, we’d find it’d be acceptable. No. Just no.
Our server was kind enough to promo us a tiramisu dessert for the trouble. This was delicious.
However, we will not be returning. It’s a glorified hotel eatery.
We had an amazing dinner. Celebrating a belated Valentines Day with our husbands, and Osteria Marzano did not disappoint! Allen, our server was fantastic. He walked ya through the entire menu, including specials, and made recommendations when we had questions. We will definitely be back soon!
Great food, great service!
We sat at the bar for dinner. No one ever came by to welcome us, give us a menu, water, utensils. NOTHING! We waived down a young lady working the bar and asked for a menu and some water but by this time we were very irritated. I'm pretty sure she picked up on it and in return SHE HAD AN ATTITUDE! Craziest thing ever. The food was amazing. hostess was amazing and the restaurant was very beautiful but service needed some tweaking that night.
Food was delicious. Cocktails were great!
Valentine’s Day dinner with our kids.
Wonderful birthday celebration at the table we like. Food, service was outstanding.
Great food and great service. We will definitely be back here in the future.
Excellent food, service and cost.
Excellent as always. Food was delicious, wait staff very polite and efficient.
Delicious as always. Restaurant week picks were wonderful.
First time here. The food was good and ambiance was nice. Wine was a bit pricey for out in the suburbs. Not sure if it was because of restaurant week but the pace of our three course meal felt very rushed. There was no time between courses; appetizers, main course, dessert all done in about an hour for 4 of us. If I lived closer to this place, I might return but I wouldn't make a special trip here. Also not sure why this was listed as part of DC restaturant week. Originally thought it was in Old Town Alexandria since it's address was Alexandria but it turned out to be Springfield, VA. I would recommend if you were in the vicinity.
We've been to the restaurant before and that is the only reason I would recommend. If this was my first time visiting, I would not return. We were sat next to a table that was so loud I couldn't talk to my husband. We couldn't hear each other. There were other open tables so I am not sure why we had to sit there. Our waitress was not great. She bought our food but when asked for recommendations, just shrugged and said they're good. Really couldn't recommend much. We ordered a meat and cheese board and the prosciutto was shredded. In the past it is usually cut nicely in longer strips. In the end, we weren't even given the correct coats. We went back but if there is a coat check, please make sure to get the right coats.
A great local restaurant that we visit frequently. They often change the menu to add new and additional interesting dishes.
The food was excellent and the service was superb! Came for restaurant week but will definitely be back again.
The service was not great, just ok. This was our first time at this restaurant. Although the server was aware that my husband is a vegetarian she failed to tell him that the salad had bacon on it. He found out when he got it. The food was just ok.
Osteria Marzano has never let us down. Always a great meal with exceptional service in a very nice setting
We have been here on a few occasions and had good luck. Just did a lunch here during restaurant week that was mediocre, but the dinners have been very good.
Upon making my reservations I contact it the restaurant directly. The hostess was very kind and polite she went over the menu with me and then told me that it was restaurant week. I did not know this so I think that was very nice of the person to inform me of this. We went for my wife's birthday and had an excellent time. The food was great the customer service was excellent we will definitely be returning. Julie the GM is superb she visited our table numerous times to ensure that everything was well. The staff's hospitality was excellent we even shared with them some fruit from my wife fruit basket. This place is a hidden gem. All the reviews i read before going were all on point, if a family run restaurant and you can tell by their attentiveness. I had the branzino and my wife the spaghetti & meat ball the meatballs are fairly large so if you go and order this one comes with the dish I would not recommend ordering more than just one additional one. Julie also provided us with material about the upcoming cooking and wine classes they have. Please make if your business to visit this establishment.
Had a wonderful dinner!! Restaurant was crowded so service was a little slow.
I love the food but it is always freezing in there no matter what time of the year we go there. I have pointed this out to the server on multiple occasions and they always say , “sorry we have no control over it”.
I wish they could do something about that because it is uncomfortable and we could not truly enjoy our food.
We chose Osteria Marzano for the Restaurant Week promotion and were delighted by the quality of food and the service. I can’t think of a single complaint. Will definitely return in the future!
We went to OM for a late lunch during Restaurant Week and were reminded again what a wonderful gem we have with Osteria Marzano. My husband started with the fish soup which was absolutely delicious and perfect on this cool, damp day. We both had the salmon entree, because we knew how perfectly prepared it would be and were not disappointed. The tiramisu is a favorite menu dessert item for a reason, so we both enjoyed that, as well. If you haven't been to OM, Restaurant Week is a great time to try it, but you will enjoy it whenever you go.
We have come to Osteria Marzano for 2 restaurant weeks as well as get togethers with friends. Lunch is our favorite time to go. Tried the pizza this time and it was very good. Would definitely order again.
