The food and the service was excellent at this restaurant. Everything on the menu looked good so we decided to ask for some recommendations from our waitress, Debra. She recommended the Plin (ravioli), the rabbit loin, and then we added the Gnocchi, and the Ragu. All was excellent and the Rabbit Loin is a must here! The place is small and the tables are close together but we really enjoyed our experience here. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Italian and something away from downtown Chicago!

The restaurant is one of the most delicious places I’ve eaten at in Chicago. I love Italian food and I’ve been several times to Italy, and this restaurant perfectly captures the essence of the Italian cuisine. The attention was outstanding, very dedicated towards its costumers. I will surely return soon.

The food was innovative and tasty. The service was friendly and helpful. I really appreciated being brought a tasting of two red wines before having to order one.

Really very good food, that made up for the somewhat cramped space and small tables. The servers were nice and attentive. The dishes were interesting and creative, including some ingredients I had never had before. The cocktail was great.

The service and ambiance were wonderful. The server assistants never missed a beat. Unfortunately, I thought the food was good but not excellent and over priced. The portions were small. I enjoyed the experience but would not be compelled to return.

We were turned on to Osteria Langhe by a friend who used to work there. The food is absolutely unique for Italian food in Chicago as it's based on Piedmontese cuisine (Northwestern Italy, bordering Switzerland and France). If they put the tortoloni with lamb breast on the menu, they would sell as well as the Plin (Awesome!). We seriously considered skipping dessert and ordering a second plate of the torteloni. Great job, we'll be back!

Overall it was an outstanding evening with great food and really good drinks. The restaurant has a great vibe and the server was very helpful and accommodating for some of the parties requests for the food.

I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the food and it all started with the Polipo which was outstanding. The thing that shocked me about the dish was how great the bean salad component of the dish was. I was excited just for the octopus and pork belly which was excellent but in the end I think the beans in some ways stole the show. The whole dish came together beautifully and I am definitely getting this again next time I go back.

The main dishes were also very good and in particular the Plin were out of this world. We all shared our dishes and I think everyone kept on trying to go back to the Plin dish. Also if you are a fan of risotto then you must get it because it reminded me of when I lived in Italy.

An outstanding meal with excellent service and drinks.

We were in town for business and found this listing on a search for great new restaurants.
It was a bit further than we usually venture but definitly worth the drive, we will put it on our must come back list for next time we are in town.
You won't be disappointed!

This was a family get together. Six of us. We picked this restaurant because it offered truffles. That night there were only black truffles. That was ok but they had absolutely NO taste. In our opinion they should have just told us that they were old and not recommended. Friday night and noisy. Server was knowledgeable but didn't pay us a great deal of attention. Food was good and rich.

Celebrated a birthday. The table we were given was the only one available and not terribly comfortable at the far corner next to the kitchen entrance with obstructive wall art. But ended up being more “quiet” than the alternative. Service was very friendly and attentive. So much so that the server was preoccupied with other tables’ conversations, but he did the same for us by spending a lot of time walking through food and wine options which we really appreciated. Great spot, casual-enough atmosphere with wonderful well thought out menu. Looking forward to going back.

The restaurant was very good, I'd say especially the small plates and my amazing cocktail, the This Is Fine--kind of a take on a gin martini with the slightest hint of smokey, burnt orange. Yum. The screaming baby a couple tables over detracted from the overall experience, but unless they said sure, bring your screaming baby when the parents made the reservations, what's Osteria L supposed to do? All of my party was very happy with our night out.

Went for my birthday at the recommendation of a couple of friends. Arrived on time for our 645pm reservation and didn't get seated until 25 mins later. Once seated, our food was very slow to arrive and seemed like the server completely forgot about our order even tho we had put in the special notes that it was my birthday. Being a vegetarian we ordered all of the veggie options available, which for an Italian place was super lacking being only 3 (plus bread) a salad with a fried egg, a 6 tiny cheese ravioli portion, and super mediocre gnocchi. Half way thru waiting for our super unimpressive food they came over and pushed another table over to ours, making it very obvious we were to rush and that they were waiting to seat a four top. I didn't bother ordering cake, even on my birthday because the service and meal was that bad that it wasn't worth it. We dropped $80 before tip (having only one beer each) and both left hungry. Really bad way to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion.

You might think that I would just be complaining because It's my birthday, but my fiance manages a fine dining restaurant on Randolph street and said if he had treated a guest this way he would've had to comp part of their meal so service is really lack luster here.

Most of our choices were great but the pork chop, tauted as fabulously tender and outstanding, nearly broke my knife when I tried to cut it. After two bites, I gave up. I didnt want to cause a scene as it was a business dinner. The chicken sausage on the plate was wonderful. The service was attentive but it took forever to get our first course. Water glasses were always filled.
