This is the best Italian restaurant in Chicago.
Service was fantastic! I went there for my birthday and they made it great!
We went back to Osteria Langhe, one of the few Italian restaurants in Chicago I really enjoy, since the food is authentic; in this specific case, I am from Piemonte, and the dishes are indeed very true to the goegraphical area. The appetizers (vitello tonnato, carne cruda) and desserts (panna cotta, affogato), were outstanding as usual. The main entrees (eg zuppa, rabbit) were also excellent.
Incredible service! We ordered the shrimp for appetizer and Plin ravioli for our entree, so mouth watering good we ordered a second round . Panne was light and special for dessert . Overall great birthday dinner . The upfront staff made the dining experience feel like home . Thank you
Waiter was not very customer friendly.
Fantastic food and service!
Fantastic space with great food and vibe. Locally intimate with amazing food and energy.
Osteria Langhe has been one of our favorite spots for a long time. Their pasta is still the best in the city: always perfectly al dente, the perfect portion size, and with a variety of delicious sauces. The shaved brussels sprouts salad is also good, but we would have liked the kitchen to split it for us, as we had told the server we were going to share. Tables are small and get crowded with serving dishes and the sparkling water bottle and the $6 bread order we had, (which, by the way, is not worth the price.) But the biggest disappointment was the rabbit: served not hot enough, although graciously warmed up upon request. Wasn't as tasty as on other visits, either. Anyway, still a four star....but had always been five star in the past.
I love Osteria Langhe! Their NYE prefix menu had vegetarian options, which is majorly appreciated. I loved the ambiance and the menu choices. I felt like everything was well portioned and reasonably priced. Will definitely go again!
Great food, unique menu..so delicious! Everyone loved everything. Very happy with our NYEve Pris
We had the best experience in an area of Chicago we were unfamiliar with. The food was great , the service was great, our waitress was great, the wine selection was great! Thankyou for a wonderful meal that felt truly Italian authentic!!
This restaurant really delivers what they advertise - a delicious focus on the Piedmont region.
Each time we have dined at Osteria Langhe we have had a superb experience! Food, cocktails, wine, service, and ambiance...all fantastic! Couldn’t recommend this spot more for a date, special occasion, friends/group get together! You won’t be disappointed!
Great experience - awesome food - definitely recommend. The paste with white truffles was amazing and the duck was tasty as well. Our sever was very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Food was fantastic. Both the cauliflower flan and roasted duck were impressive. Seemed to be a little understaffed servers for a mostly full room, but it was Christmas Eve so that certainly happens. I've eaten here many times and always enjoyed it.
Everything was excellent. That ragout! The hazelnut tarte! The verdure starter! The steak! The waiter left us hanging once or twice, but it was a busy night. Would return, again and again.
Everything was excellent, the food is always phenomenal... it's just drafty/cold being seated next to the window.
An absolute gem of a restaurant and a wonderful dining experience! I will return with others to watch them enjoy also.
Very good food. portions a bit small for the price octopus and shrimp cake app was delicious but only 2 small bites of octopus for 18 bucks . Service was great our server Anthony was spot on
Fabulous food and service in a cozy atmosphere...wish we had a place locally like it. We will go there on our next Chicago trip!
Loved our entire experience at Osteria Langhe! White truffle season, and chef came out to shave generously over the pasta. And yet, as expectedly good as that dish was, nothing compared the plin (which I think is always available). These hand-pinched raviolis are as rich with la tur cheese and butter as they are light and fluffy. Absolutely amazing. The service was equally impressive. We got the feeling everyone respected the restaurant one might respect an art project. Like they were all happy to be pitching in to create this wonderful and warm experience for all the guests. Two-tops are close together, and it's not particularly quiet, but none of this distracted from a really wonderful meal.
We had spent a week on the northwest of Italy for our second honeymoon, and it was really an amazing experience, just eating, drinking, driving around and shopping.
I took my wife for her birthday to Osteria Langhe to give a bit of a reminder of that bit of dolce vita. And wow did they deliver. OL would not be out of place in Alba, Asti or Dogliani. The region is well presented on the menu, top to bottom, and executed brilliantly. The Langhe, Monferrato and Roero wine region makes up the majority of the wine list, with all major DOC and DOCG represented.
Highly recommend for a charming neighborhood Italian restaurant that reflects one of the two best regional cuisines of Italy and one of the two best wine regions of Italy.
We will be back. Definitely.
We have dined at Osteria Langhe six or seven times. The meals are always delicious. Frequently their menu choices and preparations are very unique. On our last visit we ordered the bread course along with chicken liver mousse which included capers and onions...mouthwatering. We then shared two excellent pastas, also outstanding. We finished with succulent duck and bistecca main courses. Anthony our attentive waiter recommended Ruche 2016, an Italian wine we had never tried before and we loved it...fruit forward but also with an excellent finish. Although we have enjoyed desserts in the past, we were completed satisfied with our meal so declined dessert this time. Overall Osteria Langhe is one of our favorites, and we highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys really well prepared food. Any one looking for a special date night restaurant would want to choose Osteria Langhe. Richard and Dayle Sazonoff
Food was good but a little salty. Service was great.
We loved the restaurant! The rabbit loin, gnocchi, and several other pastas were outstanding. It was a little off the beaten path for us but worth the effort!
Had heard such great things so went for our first visit. Will not go back. Food was mediocre. Some attempt at authenticity but truly fell far short. Kitchen was very slow. Not the server’s fault. We waited for ever for our first course and equally as long to get our second course (while waiting so long for the second course, we watched chef visiting with folks at the bar; maybe that’s why the food took so long!). I suspect Osteria Langhe was better once upon a time, but clearly it needs to get its groove back.
Best pasta with truffle I have had since our last trip to Italy. The pana cotta with cherries was extraordinary. Memorable meal!
Very enjoyable and delicious for a date night!
Fabulous as always! Highly, highly recommend this place!! The Plin appetizer is one of the best dishes on the planet!!!
The food was incredible! What a gem! I immediately came home and made a reservation for next week so we can try more of the menu. The cauliflower and brussels sprouts apps, the rabbit entree and the bread pudding dessert were outstanding!
This is our favorite Italian restaurant! We come here for birthdays and special occasions all the time. Keep up the awesomeness!
Staff was so kind and food was delicious
Make sure to try the plin! Good food, swell wines by the glass, excellent service. Wish i lived closer!
A group of cavemen were seated next to us and ruined the experience.
Millennials talking so loud about their bathroom routines. So gross
Best Italian food
We wanted to order so many things that it was hard to decide what to order, we had scallops, Casio &pepe noodles, Octopus, and shrimp...it was all excellent!
Terrific food, great service. A little noisy.
Such an amazing restaurant. I travel from Naples, Florida just to get a “Langhe” fix. The food is divine, the service attentive and friendly and it’s such a cozy place for a fabulous meal.
FANTASTIC gluten allergy understanding + accommodation; oh my gosh what an amazing meal!!! And such a great server :) really made the evening a wonderful experience. Can't wait to come back!
