Osteria Laguna Ratings and Reviews
3 coworker out for a holiday luncheon. We started with Fritto Misto calamari & shrimp very lightly battered, fried crispy with tangy sauce. Meals consisted of GRIGLIATA MISTA DI PESCE grilled seafood cooked just right lovely presentation.; SCALOPPINE AL LIMONE veal medalions in a wonderful sauce; FILETTO DI MAIALE CON FUNGHI pork tenderloin wild mushroom sauce over polenta, yum.
We tried this restaurant based upon our hotel’s recommendation. It was ok not spectacular.
While the pasta is homemade, the dishes were very bland.
The service was good but not over the top.
The restaurant was incredibly noisy so not a great place to go for a cozy dinner.
We will definitely not be back as there are better Italian restaurants in NYC.
This is one of my favorite places because it’s proximity to Grand Central, great food and dependable service. I like the comfortable yet elegant venitian interior. I always feel welcome from the hostess to the waiters, they are always very warm and friendly.
My friends loved it and I’m back this next Thursday! Love it!
I discovered Osteria Laguna on Open Table when I was looking for a place near Grand Central. It was a very good choice. The menu is expansive and fish seems to be a specialty of the house. The wine selection is excellent. We had several people taking care of us and we never felt hurried despite the fact that the restaurant was full. I would recommend it highly.
Had friends visiting from out of town and found this restaurant , conveniently located near Grand Central Station. Had a nice round table in a corner, great for talking and “visiting “ with each other. .Food was delicious as was the wine and the service was courteous and attentive.
We had a great time. Definitely good for a gathering of friends.
Not as good as it has been in the past. Annoying that it we booked an early lunch, restaurant pretty empty at that point and they won't seat a two top until "everyone is there " hate that. Hostess then couldn't find res, then waitress took order, came back FIVE minutes later to ask us if we wanted coffee or dessert....i literally had a breadstick in my hand and she grabbed the plate. I asked her what she was doing, given that we just ordered and obviously hadn't eaten yet!! My salad dressing was super vinegared so didn't eat greens, chicken was served with skin....since when is that done when it is in a salad? Never in my life. Used to go here a lot, no more.
Our waiter was very nice and the food was good overall, but we had some issues. Our daughter’s portion of spaghetti was small and she had to order a second dish. They forgot one of the meals altogether. And one of our guests wanted salmon on her salad as an entree but they said the chef would not allow that. How bizarre! We won’t ever go back. There are many other Italian restaurants that provide a better experience.
Always in the top 20 restaurants I frequent in Manhattan. A little noisy for a business meal however, you can make do. Food is very good to excellent with attentive service. I especially love the Risotto dishes which are both on the menu and offered as a Special. Wine list also accommodates a better than average wine lover. Plenty of good choices at fair prices. Great location accessible to the Theater, Grand Central and Bryant Park......
waiter, restaurant very cheap!!! with their parm grating cheese!!!!! also shrimp were ridiculously small in risotto , also, coffee lousy, american and as well italian capuccino, flat, watery.... lemon chicken was nottttttt 100% cooked, and just overall appearance was lousy looking- waiter toooo pushy with paid water, sparkling- please restore our loyalty with perhaps a coupon! thank you
We all ordered what we wanted including a bottle of wine.
I knew my dish was $36 my colleague's was approx. $22-24.
No big deal... The waiter asked if I would like spaghetti with my entre.
I said sure... thinking it came with it or there would be a nominal charge...$17.00 for spaghetti with a little red sauce.
But when the check came I did not look closely and that was an entre of spaghetti.
I feel this should have been told to me maybe a slight up charge but way out of line.
Will try other places before I go back.
He ordered desert and coffees.. Bill came to well over $100 per person. They should reevaluate full charge for a side of spaghetti.
Great food as usual; service not so much. Our server took our drink and food order, it arrived, then we didn't see her until we asked for the bill. Obviously short staffed on Sunday evening. We saw the bus person more than our server. Funny thing, the male server didn't appear all that slammed as our server.
