The most delicious food! The best lasagna I have ever had. Literally melted in your mouth. Service excellent. I have eaten at other Italian restaurants in New York. This was by far the best -Next time I'm in NYC will definitely go back !!
This is our reliable midtown Italian in a wasteland of Chop’t and Starbucks. Large restaurant but with a cozy feel. Great menu with very wide range of options, from pastas to seafood to meats to pizza. Service is friendly and attentive. Can be a bit loud. Decent value. Great for lunch or dinner.
We brought clients here for a business meal and had a great time. Our server was excellent and was knowledgable, and was able to ensure that the menu items we asked about were gluten free for one of our clients. The food was excellent, portions were appropriate, and the server was never overbearing or pushy about dessert or coffee. The dessert was presented to us with samples, so it was nice to see what was available. The atmosphere was great and with the bad weather we had, the coat check was a nice perk.
Great aesthetic - buttery-colored walls give the room a golden glow - unpretentious yet stylish, fantastic food, inventive, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Spirited atmosphere with a lot of hubbub but not at all impossibly noisy. Waiters magically appear exactly when you need them. A lot of fun to be there, and very delicious.
My colleagues and I met with some of our business partners for an in-between lunch/dinner meeting and everyone was incredibly accommodating and we were able to have a productive and very pleasant meeting. This is my 3rd time at Osteria and everytime my experience has been great! Highly recommend for business lunches with modest priced good food and noise level for meetings.
In town for business. Great service and food. Branzino was excellent
Stopped in for some italian that was close to our hotel. The food wasn't worth the price - though it wasn't terrible. The ravioli was bland, but not offensive. The cheese plate was served with no accompaniments. Overall it wasn't the worst food I've had, but I don't think the dining experience deserves the 4+ stars that led me here to begin with.
Extremely please with the service and the food was better than expected for the location. I was so happy to see unique ingredients like nduja included in their special ravioli. It was delicious as were the risottos and desserts. Would definitely go back!
fresh authentic Italian selections. Very flavorful, good portions, friendly fast service. Lovely surrounding. Highly recommend!
We used to love going to dinner here once or twice a year on our trips to the city. However, they apparently got a new chef or new management because the dishes have changed and are now subpar.
The orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe had no flavor. Instead of having the broccoli rabe as pieces in the dish it was pureed, with what must have been water due to the lack of flavor, and added as a "sauce". The sausage had the smooth overly processed texture of fake hot dogs.
They no longer have the cavatappi with veal ragu because it wasn't in season. I wasn't aware cavatappi or veal had a season. My husband ordered the ribeye medium rare. It came with varying temperatures from well done on one half to raw in the middle.
Needless to say we will not be going back.
Wonderful meal - we wanted a relaxed pace and our waiter understood and helped make our experience slow paced and friendly. Great northern Italian dishes - specials recommended were the best - a memorable evening.
The food was good, great ambiance, and the service was great, especially the manager Kami was outstanding very professional and attentive. Definitely I would recommend the place to my friends 👍👍
The specials of the day, especially when they cost almost 50 dollars, should be mentioned along with their prices.
The same server asked three or four times if we wanted more than tab water. Asking that twice would seem acceptable. More than twice, frankly, is a bit too much.
Other than this, an enjoable meal, as always.
Great food and service. Host was nice enough to hold a table in a “quieter” area for us while we waited for the rest of our party at the bar. Service was excellent and not rushed.
Good food and high quality service at this place albeit at NYC prices. Truly enjoyed the experience as did my friend who works in the area and plans to return.
We eat there often when we are in the mood for really good Italian food. We have never had anything there we did not love.
And the service is really good too.
Great food and ambiance! Location, location, location - can't be beat since it's a block or two from Grand Central Terminal. The decor and artwork also contributes much to the atmosphere. Fresh pasta, great company, what else can you ask for?
Always great food and service. The manager and a few waiters that have been there a long Time is the reason we go here
Great food and a nice environment. Love the front of house gentleman - he was warm, kind and hospitable.
Great food as usual. Quiet and away from the crowds for the most part.
Lovely experience from the welcome at the front door to our waiter.
The manager came a couple of times to the table to make sure we
The clams were not fresh. Very disappointing. The sauce of the Linguine al Frutti Di Mare is not consistent in taste and creaminess. Quite disappointing.
I had the short ribs with tomato, coffee, chocolate sauce. It sounded both weird and intriguing at the same time. The whole was greater than the sum of its parts. The combination did not taste like tomato or coffee or chocolate exactly, but something different and spectacular. Plus the short ribs themselves were tender and superb. This dish is a winner!
in a city with so many italian restaurants, this one seems to fly below the radar for some reason. It is terrific
A very reliable Italian bistro type restaurant with good food, good sized portions and lots of choices for both food and wine.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Prompt and great
Been in NY for a weeks holiday from Scotland absolutely loved this restaurant and dined 4 Times in 1 week would recommend for authenticity Italian cuisine in a friendly environment with great service hope to be back in the future
Good food at good price
A little on the noisy side
We took my mom here for her post Lion King birthday dinner and we really enjoyed out experience. The food was fabulous and came out of the kitchen really quickly. The dessert was amazing and the staff was friendly and answered all the questions we had.
We go here almost 1x per month. Usually have great service and food is delicious.
We went to Osteria Laguna for NYE dinner and we left very unimpressed almost disappointed. The food, ambiance, and hostess were great; our waiter, however, wasn't. He seemed generally uninterested, did little to answer our questions, and rushed us into our decisions. We were there for the NYE dinner from 9pm to about 12:30m. We were there for a decent amount of time so we planned on pacing ourselves with the food. He never once told us that kitchen would be closing at a certain time. Instead he came by after the kitchen had closed and said "by the way the kitchen is closed, no more food or deserts"
The food was delicious, the service ah the bar was great, the hostess was great, but our waiter was terrible.
We booked last minute and only just got a table, this alone speaks volumes, great food, kids happy, great service
The lady who guided us to the table has no smile, no greeting to us at the entrance. So, the first impression was not good, but the server was good and busy taking care of us. Food was ok.
Restaurant was beautiful in a great location to our hotel. Easily booked a reservation on Christmas Day, however it was not crowded when we arrived. All other local restaurants were booked solid...that should have been our clue.
Food was marginal, nothing exciting or worth the price.
Steven was the rudest waiter I have ever experienced. He rarely came to the table, never offered a water refill without our request even with obvious empty glasses, and although he said the correct words when he interacted with us...you could actually see him roll his eyes and laugh condescendingly when he walked away from the table. I watched him treat others the same. The female hostess seemed to recognize this and try to compensate for his behavior. This restaurant without Steven would have been a much better experience...he needs to go!
My wife and I visited this restaurant as an alternative to Christmas Dinner while we were visiting New York from the UK. We were extremely pleased with all aspects of our visit. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, but discreet. The food was wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone. 10 out of 10 Osteria Laguna!
Osteria Laguna has become a favorite restaurant. They earned it with consistently good food, very professional service and an atmosphere that exudes friendliness. I have enjoyed small dinners and major birthday celebrations there and was always very satisfied.
Solid meal, good service and location. Actually very few good Italian options in this area. Will be back.
