While the wait staff and host were very attentive and friendly there were moments of confusion that did affect the dining experience. At least 3 different wait staff asked about water preference but only the last one brought the water, my husband had to ask for his non alcoholic drink several times, well after ordering when we were informed they did not have my husbands requested dish so the main course was delayed. The food was very good Italian - burrata and prosciutto was fresh and a nice size and the bread basket was very nice Pasta was delicious with a nice cream sauce and crab. We left very full.
Bartender has absolutely no personality and definitely doesn’t know how to make a chocolate martini food was ok nothing special especially when you have to wait an hour an a half for cold spaghetti and the place wasn’t that Busy can you imagine what would have happened if it was
Wonderful experience! Food was amazing, our waiter Rafael went aboye and beyond to make us feel great, the owner and the chef, both attentive, went by the table to make sure we liked everything! It is by far, the best Italian meal I’ve had in my life, and I have been in several places in town and out of town, including Casa Tua in Miami for example. Nothing compares with Osteria! I will be back for sure very soon, stellar experience!
It was wonderful, the food excellent, the service superb and the great attention of the owner. Definitely a great restaurant!!
I am quite puzzled as to how this place gets such favorable reviews. Overall, very disappointing considering the high prices, and very mediocre food; not bad, but certainly not great. We started with 2 appetizers, both of which were certainly below average. We had eggplant parmesan, which was mostly zucchini parmesan, with a sliver of eggplant, probably some of the worst eggplant Parmesan I’ve ever tried. Bland, and so firm it was almost impossible to cut with a knife. We also had tuna Tartare, which was not at all what we expected; it consisted of tiny cut up pieces of tuna rolled together with mayonnaise into a ball. It was ok, but not great, and certainly did not meet expectations.
The main courses were better, squid ink pasta with seafood, which was very good, and sea bass, which was a nice size piece very fresh and well prepared. I would probably give 4 stars for the main courses. The bread they gave us on the table was stale and bland, not good at all.
The service was excellent for the most part, until the end, when our waitress disappeared and it took a long time to get the check. I finally had to go inside and ask for it.
The food and service were outstanding as usual. We ate outside on their lovely patio, due to covid. Unfortunately the unruly traffic on Collins Avenue detracted from the experience.
We've eaten here twice on vacation and both times everything was excellent! The staff is fantastic and they make you feel like family. The food is amazing and you won't be disappointed!
Owner very accommodating. Wait staff attentive and knowledgeable. Of course each dish done perfectly
The experience was entertaining from the time we entered! A fun and engaging host greeted us and our waiter was knowledgeable and professional. The food was outstanding and the menu extensive. We look forward to returning on our next visit to South Beach
Wonderful staff and owner - Gilbert the owner is so nice - He came over a few times to make sure everything was good - very nice place.
- food delicious and service fantastic! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back.
So great to be back. It's been over a year since we've been to Osteria, and the service and food has remained outstanding. Gilbert is a wonderful host!
Gilbert, the owner personally welcomes you and checks on you thru out your visit. The waitstaff takes care of everybody with good humor and expert knowledge of their extensive menu. The Food?, we rate it bar far one of the finest meals we have ever eaten. Perfect hand made ravioli, rack of lamb, succulent mussels and lavish apple and chocolate cake for dessert. Nothing could be improved. Simply the best and huge surprise for Miami Beach. Thanks Wilnaj, our server for an unforgettable experience and Thanks Gilbert for the Limoncello. Lisa and I have owned restaurants and Inn's in our past and I have a culinary arts degree. Your passion and attention to detail is simply incredible, especially for being in business so long. We feel for the restaurant industry during these trying times and wish you much continued success.
We will be going back next week. The food, wine, service, and atmosphere were excellent. They do a great job of managing for Covid, with a bottle of sanitizer on each table. The worst part of the evening was having to decide what to order - too many great choices.
Great food and the staff was exceptionally good. Would recommend to anyone for great Italian food.
Always a great stop when in SoBe....every trip for close to 20 years has a dinner stop here.
Best Italian restaurant in South Beach
The fish soup was phenomenal!
Lovely service , always happy to go back.
It was our first visit & we will definitely return on our next visit to Miami. The service was fabulous as well as the food. Great family night!
Great service and the homemade pasta is great!
If there could be 6 stars for food, I would rate Osteria that way. The menu recommendations from the staff were exceptional. Next time we return to Miami, this is our first stop.
Absolutely wonderful!
Best italian restaurant in Miami Beach. Outstanding food and service
Amazing staple on south beach there’s a reason why they’ve been there 35 years !
Wonderful food!
My husband made reservations for my birthday! The evening was so special, the food delicious, the service spectacular and the ambiance romantic. We loved it so much we went back the next night. We met several locals!!! This is a must if visiting South Beach!!
very good service, food and attentions! hope to be back soon,
Our server was very attentive & the food was delicious. So much so that we enjoyed leftovers the next day!
Most definitely the best meal we have had while in Miami for the last 5 days
Amazing Italian food! Great spot for a date or for a group of friends. My husband and I always come here when we are in Miami. They always have amazing specials despite an already huge menu...something for everyone! The food is outstanding and the owner is extremely friendly and caring. We will continue to come here!!
They won’t see me again . We braved the storm. Only 2 other tables turned up. It was a birthday celebration and a bottle of champagne was paid for still insisted we have to pay extra for opening a bottle of wine which was a birthday gift
Thanks for choosing us to celebrate your birthday. Before you came, you did call and ask about our corkage policy. Surprising that you still insisted on not paying. I told you that times are tough and we are just trying to keep the doors open. I thought you'd understand. I'm also surprised that you didn't mention that I did buy you 3 limoncellos and a dessert for your birthday. We are running a business in the middle of a pandemic. Also, I believe your dinner was taken care of by another guest.
This is the BEST Italian restaurant for Celiacs. They take such caution in preparing your meals. We had the lobster mango salad to start. The flavor of this combination is amazing. I had penne with clams that was delicious. We have visited this restaurant every time we visit South Beach. Gilberto is the owner, who is very friendly. Raphael is the manager, who runs the show. This place is a must to eat at!🍷🍷🍝🍝
Thanks so much! We hope to see you again soon! :)
Excellent service and food
Thanks! We appreciate your business!
Teatro del Osteria has been a favorite of mine for many years. The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. I introduced two of my friends from Coral Gables to the restaurant last weekend and they are excited to bring their friends.
we tried Osteria del Teatro, I had been here years ago in the old location, so this was my first time in the new location even though they moved about 3 years ago, the space is really beautiful inside, really nice atmosphere, outdoor you have the crazy busy Collins Avenue so, if you go, I would recommend to sit inside.
We had the Miami Spice dinner which is good value, I have to say that the regular menu looked a bit expensive and the food we had was ok, nothing amazing, I would say average, in all honesty I was hoping for better, I thought it was better when I went years ago, also the presentation of the dishes not the best. There are so many restaurants in Miami Beach and the competition is very high so I think there is a lot of room for improvement if you want.

We really enjoyed our meal. The service was impeccable. The veal parm was very good; the bolognese was delicious. The only downside is that the prices are higher than we expected - $64 for a veal chop. We eat out a lot and are used to paying for a good meal, but that’s really over-priced. I do recommend Osteria Del Teatro but it’s a bit too expensive.
Great restaurant with very good food. I used to go to the Washington Ave location for many years. Was nice to be back.
A fantastic Italian restaurant in south beach with a extensive menu. The service is outstanding. They have some special dishes that are must haves--parpadelle with lobster in a pink sauce and their lobster napoleon. We have eaten here a number of times and everything has been wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful inside. If you want to change a dish ie replace mussels with clams, make something spicy or you prefer a tomato sauce over a cream sauce--they are happy to accommodate you. If you are in Miami you must try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Friendly staff and great food!
Fantastic Food Fantastic Experience!
