Osteria da Nino
We were warmly welcomed, seated at our preferred table, waited on promptly by a friendly and helpful waitress, and served delicious appetizers and entre's. Unfortunately we had no room for what looked like delicious desserts.
Osteria da Nino is one of my and my family and friends’ favorite restaurants in the DMV area. The ambience is warm, welcoming, and truly Italian, and that’s a great start. The cuisine is always superbly prepared and presented, with an interesting mix of traditional and creative Italian dishes, always based on authentic preparation, ingredients, and flavorings. This is the one place where we know we will find excellent wines from various regions of Italy, including Sardinia and Sicily (two of my favorites, and not easy to find). Osteria da Nino is also the one place locally where I can actually speak Italian, and that is a great pleasure.
Food was fantastic, perfect portion for lunch. This reminded me of dining in the North End in Boston, authentic Italian from the carbonara to the charming owner who made sure everything was just so. We will absolutely be back.
always a great experience! service wonderful as is the food. pasta is great. love the owner visiting the table - always interesting conversation. and you can hear people at your table with ease! and parking is easy and free.
We both chose the Sea Bass and it was fantastic! An all-around great experience.
Quando si trova il ristorante giusto si passa una buona serata e non si bada al prezzo, soprattutto se il cibo è buono ed il servizio è cortese. Osteria da Nino è tutto questo e merita ogni bene.
Great variety of unusual Italian dishes and drinks on the menu. Caring wait-staff. Plus, the delightful host, Senor Nino Pino.
Mother’s Day dinner, it was lovely!
Nino's place is the best - delicious food, beautiful setting with live video views of Venice and exceptional customer care! Highly recommend for special occasions or any time you want an awesome outing with authentic Italian food. Can't wait to go back
Consistently one of our favorite high end Italian restaurants.
We were in Sicily in October and miss the food...until now! Osteria da Nino brings us back to our favorites including the pistachio cannolis
Our reservation was for Sunday evening. They had had a very busy weekend, they said, and that was the explanation for the many substitutions (orecchiette instead of garganelli, mozzarella instead of burrata in the gnocchi - making it a real Sorrentina, no spinach as side dish). All together a flavorful meal.
We had a fantastic 35th Anniversary dinner at Osteria da Nino. The food was out of this world. My husband had the duck ravioli. Great portions and the taste was outstanding, though he did share. I had the lamb ragu also outstanding. We really enjoyed the desserts also. We shared the almond olive cake and the pistachio creme brulee . What a wonderful meal. Servers were very attentive but not overly so, I hate that in a restaurants. We haven't been here in awhile but that will change. Quite a few restaurants in the area have Italian food on their menu but this is real Italian food. Can't wait to go back.
Best lasagna we've had anywhere. Excellent selection of Italian wines, wonderful complement for the food. Never disappoints
We went for brunch, and the entire experience was good. The pesto dip for the bread was amazing, and the gnocchi with burrata were like little pillows of heaven. Also, I've never had breakfast potatoes that melted in my mouth before, but theirs did. All around, the fresh pasta seemed to be a hit with everyone who ordered it. Also, brunch drinks were very reasonably priced for those who didn't want bottomless. Only thing that wasn't a hit was the cannoli, where some people thought the pistachio cannoli tasted almost like blue cheese (maybe the orange and pistachio combo is reminiscent of that somehow?). Overall though, we'd recommend going back, especially for some fantastic pasta.
Fresh ingredients- nice presentation-gracious host! Looking forward to a return visit.
Good food and good service. I will keep going back.
The food is delicious, and our server came up with something great for a vegetarian, gluten free diner to eat. The owner comes around often to make sure everyone is happy and having a good meal. We felt completely taken care of and totally satisfied.
Nino helped me put together an impromptu birthday party for my girlfriend. We had a 7 course wine pairing for 10 people that ended with a group sing a long. Great food, great wine and friends is living La Dolce Vita!!!
as always the restaurant was bustling - Nino and Ivan were friendly and welcoming - - and we enjoyed tasting roses with Robert Kennedy as well. A lovely evening!
Absolutely amazing food and staff. You HAVE to try the pistachio creme brûlée!
Nino is wonderful and the food is exceptional. If you like Italian, his restaurant is the place to go
Celebrated my wife’s birthday with about twenty guests. Osteria da Nino had a beautiful area for event seating, the food tasted amazing and the ambiance made for an overall great experience for my wife and our friends. Signore Nino will help personalize your menu and make it an event you won’t forget.
Very pleasant local choice - such a great place to have dinner before attending Signature Theatre.
Delicious and beautifully presented authentic Italian food!
We had a party of 17 and Nino was able to accommodate us on Easter Sunday with just a few days notice. The food was great and Nino put us in a private area as we had gathered in Arlington for a funeral service. They stayed open late for us and really made
our evening together special. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Food and service were excellent.
Tremendous appetizers to share
Pasta with lamb ragu was a perfect choice for Easter
The owner is attentive and entertaining
The owner Nino is a master and his kitchen and service is impeccable!
On a visit to Washington from Florida, we had the pleasure of dining at Osteria Da Nino. The gazpacho was creamy and refreshing. We shared the beet salad which was large enough for two and deliciously different. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the lamb ragu and my potato gnocchi was very filling. Our service was outstanding. A visit to our table by both owners was an added treat.
Great Italian food! Great service! Highly recommended!
The best Italian restaurant in the DC Metro Area!!!
Very lovely as always
I go there often and always have a superb experience. Most of all, I enjoy the wide range of excellent and often new dishes.
Nino the owner makes every visit an adventure in Italy with amazing food and hospitality!!!
Branzino was fabulous. Halibut special was fantastic as well.
Excellent service and good food. Highly recommended.
Fantastic Italian, our go to for special occasions. Excellent service, we usually see the owner there personally talking with guests, you can tell there's a lot of pride put into this place. Food always great, plus save room for dessert, too many good choices to pick.
I love Osteria da Nino! Nino is a treasure in and of himself. If he can't make you smile you'd better check your pulse! Great wine list -- a bit off the beaten path which is ideal for finding a new favorite. The staff is warm and friendly, quiet yet attentive. The food is always excellent -- simple yet beautifully prepared and presented. You won't be disappointed!
